This would be a good game to work on some deep balls. Hes getting better with putting some air under them, but still can be a bit flat. Just need to get through game and out of by week with no injuries.(knock on wood) Just got to focus one game at a time, at least HF is at home.

I was told WOS is loaded with talent ,at the lower levels, and they will have some good teams in the future , but the CT Era is over. It' the new WOKE Era , for sure. Nothing lasts forever , except funerals and Taxes.

True about being their own worst enemy, but most of the penalties were not what I would call fragrant fouls, they were kids being a bit fired up, playing hard and overly aggressive at times. This needs improvement for sure, but most people are used to Silsbee or other teams going over to Orange and peeing down their pants, when things get rowdy. WOS has always had that Swagger that was intimidating to opposing teams. Regardless of what the current Mustangs have going on over there, this group of Silsbee kids expected to win. And I know WOS don't want to hear this, but Coaches that have graded film , have said the Refs were one sided on Personal foul calls, and were just terrible on everything else, on both sides. But they knew going over to their house is always tough with the Officials.

Don't know about Math, but My point is, after coming off two losses, another loss here, might be hard to bounce back and beat HF, Jasper, and Bellville. This is exactly what happened last year. I think this year the bleachers are gonna be even worse. jmo As far as the best team in the District, not sure its WOS.

correct not a district game. There are some bad teams in their District though. Title will go to Lumber Jacks, or Pirates. Time will tell.

IMO, last year, even though Silsbee scored couple times at the end of game to pull ahead, that might have been the Stangs best effort all District. They always play Silsbee tough. WOS fans might not realize it, but this might be the best Offense they have put on the field in a long time. I know the Defense is not playing good, but with the athletes they have, and the fact they always play hard against Tigers, and throw in a break or two, at home, and using BMT chapter of Referees, I think WOS should be the favorite here. And I don't believe Tigers have ever won in that Stadium. Another factor is , if WOS looses this game, the season is probably over.

? 2nd team gave up a long run for TD in second half, but other than that, most running plays were stopped at the line of scrimmage.

Brazosport had some athletes last year, just never know ? I know Tiger coaches are telling the kids, they are playing the Dallas Cowboys, not the current ones though, the Jimmy Johnson ones. lol

Talked to a couple Tiger coaches, they think Nederland is a very good team, and this game could go either way ? The thing about this Tiger team, is for this early in the year, they seem to be in better condition than years past, may be more depth, or not as many two way players ? But last year at this time, starters had not played much in the second half in the first two games last year, and they got tired in the second half of the Nederland game, that and giving up an On side kick late in the game, made it closer, than should have been. When a 4a team plays a good 5a team, 5a team should have the advantage, as most of their players only practice one side of the ball , where almost every 4a kid is practicing Offense and Defense, kid might start on Offense, but he's backup on defense.

I thought Huffman was suppose to be good this year, they have good numbers, and their under levels were good last year?

Might be wrong here, but I was told its possible that coach was told by someone higher up, not to sign off on transfer. Trying to discourage or slow down the kids leaving Beaumont ISD schools.

Silsbee is still small on OL and DL, these guys are more experienced than last couple years, but still small. They may be loaded with Basketball players, but as far a athletes with speed, there probably 4th best in District? just look at last springs track results. The loss of Mason is bigger than most know, not sure how new guy is gonna develop? might be a year away from being at that level? And Tigers will still struggle with kicker. Not trying to be negative, just keeping it real, they could easily be 4th in district, and make it to Dallas. Theres a lot of floods, Hurricanes , wind events, making grades, Forest Fires, car wrecks, school fights, cheer leader and mom fights, Covid comeback, and a lot of water going under the Bridge , until we find out whats gonna happen. LOL

I was told, this was the first full week of practice for Miller, using caution with a stress related injury. Kibbles was recovering from sickness, couple others banged up, not for sure the status. Dont know why Lumberton had hold outs?

Not for sure what years ago you are referring to, I played in the 70's, and we had full pad 2 a days, for 2 weeks before school started. And guess what , we had some 100 degree days here in Central Texas. Coaches didnt believe in water breaks either back then. lol

That all sounds great, but I can guarantee that most coaches would love to do the same thing. For example what happens when your Elite Coach hires on, and the Admin does not allocate the money needed to hire good or enough assistant coaches? or your Principles and Supt. dont do a good job of coordinating the teaching slots to fit your need for coaches? Or there is no extra money to upgrade your facilities ? Or when you are not allowed to adjust the period scheduling to fit the needs of your off season program? These are things that Coaches bang their heads against the wall all the time , that affect your football program, and I'm just scratching the surface.

Reagan is saying that for anyone that has a short stubby slow kid, from short stubby slow parents, can move to a town that has an elite coach, OR have your school hire an Elite coach, and Wala , your kid will now grow into an NFL caliber Stud, weighing over 300lbs, 6' 6", and run a 4.8 40. lol

But if you were trying to cook a rotten Goat, wouldnt matter who the cook was, if you can understand the comparison?

God creates Genetics not coaches. But, I will say it could be like a Lousy cook burning a juicy Rib Eye, and an elite cook, making it great? lol
