  1. I know there has to be some Astros fans out there. After many early predictions have them winning the WS. They started the season off right. Springer and Altuve went deep. JV got the win with 9k.
  2. Former newton qb still close to the program, has been saying that the job was the son's whenever coach decided to hang it up. They like what he has done in the past when filling in.
  3. It is possible for people who rent to see an increase. Landlords are not going to take a loss on their rental property. I was against the recent WOS bond to update sports fields. Mainly because of low test scores in the district, after we had a bond years ago to update/rebuild all the schools. It's true what has been said here that good students will do good no matter the environment. But what about kids that aren't as bright as their peers. The more technology these students are exposed to the better. This will help them later on in life, whether they become a rocket scientist or a fry cook. And by the way, even though I didn't vote for the bond. I have no problem with this small increase in taxes. Especially if it ensures young athletes will have safer conditions to showcase their abilities and perhaps earn a college scholarship. Good luck Nederland
  4. Probably never. Think about this. Tampa Bay Rays TEAM VALUE $900M Calculated April 2018 So Trout is worth almost half of an entire organization?
  5. Reminds me of a new old saying... if you knew half of what I've forgot, you'd still be a smart a$$
  6. Just cuz they have money they think their opinions matter to us common folks. Celebrities should stick to Hollywood and stay out of politics. Politicians are liars and not good at acting, so maybe they need professionals to act for them.
  7. No that was an excellent example of politics at its finest.
  8. Mustang football is a way of life around here. Other sports not so much. So imo losing to silsbee twice in playoffs is much worse for us. If there was any doubt of a true rivalry between them, there should be no question what game is circled on our calendar from here out.
  9. Great work getting a "global climate treaty" in place by 1992. That really saved us all.
  10. Shame on GM for not continuing to make an unwanted product.
  11. He should have a "Must trade" clause put into his contract. Imagine the Angels are 15 games back and he wants to go play with Bryce for a couple months.
  12. I don't think the Angels will ever be able to win a world series. Especially with that kind of money wrapped up with player. Even though he may be the greatest. Shows that sports is a business and he wants the money. Not to win
  13. Since I killed the conversation. I'll try to pick it back up. I just finished watching season finale of PBB on history channel. Its officially the new X files. Govt coverups, secret Pentagon meetings, men in black. Can't wait for the next season.
  14. We all know it's not the air being racist. Apparently minorities live in lower income neighborhoods, which is usually located closer to pollution. Another systemic problem the govt can't fix
  15. Yes I have seen the video, the one without the gunshots. He did seem to be walking with a purpose. But not wielding the machete or even holding it firmly. I'm sure the officer did exactly what he was trained to do and I'm not saying he is at fault. He left the safety or his vehicle and put himself in the line of fire to protect the public. Just think there could have been more defensive measures to preserve life. I think a bean bag to the chest from a shotgun could have been a better solution.
  16. COUNTY JUDGE ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION [Hidden Content]
  17. Only time will tell. I'm sure this is far from over. I feel for both sides. The family dealing with an unfortunate loss. And the officer who will have this weighing on his conscience. Side ? Have any of you law enforcement officers killed someone in the line of duty?
  18. Even if I pulled my weapon in attempt to control the situation. I would only shoot as a last resort. And as long as the aggressor only had a machete, I personally would have no problem staying out of range. Shoot to kill shouldn't be the norm.
  19. Why is that? Did he already attack someone else? I saw no blood on the blade. All he did was bring a knife to a gunfight.
  20. Agree that he should have followed the directions. But was the officer's life really in danger? Or could he have attempted to descalate the situation? He may have been cleared by the department, but still not right in taking a life.
