Since I killed the conversation. I'll try to pick it back up.
I just finished watching season finale of PBB on history channel. Its officially the new X files. Govt coverups, secret Pentagon meetings, men in black. Can't wait for the next season.
We all know it's not the air being racist. Apparently minorities live in lower income neighborhoods, which is usually located closer to pollution. Another systemic problem the govt can't fix
Yes I have seen the video, the one without the gunshots. He did seem to be walking with a purpose. But not wielding the machete or even holding it firmly. I'm sure the officer did exactly what he was trained to do and I'm not saying he is at fault. He left the safety or his vehicle and put himself in the line of fire to protect the public. Just think there could have been more defensive measures to preserve life. I think a bean bag to the chest from a shotgun could have been a better solution.
Only time will tell. I'm sure this is far from over. I feel for both sides. The family dealing with an unfortunate loss. And the officer who will have this weighing on his conscience.
Side ?
Have any of you law enforcement officers killed someone in the line of duty?
Even if I pulled my weapon in attempt to control the situation. I would only shoot as a last resort. And as long as the aggressor only had a machete, I personally would have no problem staying out of range. Shoot to kill shouldn't be the norm.
Agree that he should have followed the directions. But was the officer's life really in danger? Or could he have attempted to descalate the situation? He may have been cleared by the department, but still not right in taking a life.
KFDM reported he began to fall on the 5th shot but 7 were fired. I just feel that more should have been done to preserve life. The officer didn't retreat to more defensive position or wait for backup. Does PAPD not have funding for non lethal alternatives?
It's hard to know what his intentions were as he failed to put down the machete. Unloading a full clip was excessive. But unfortunately I don't think officers are trained to wound suspects.

While surrounding area refineries have expansions, why would anyone have a problem with a brand new one being built here. Print pack will close at the end of 2019 and others have done nothing but downsize for years. We need all the help we can get.
I'm so confused.
From the article
One of the nation's largest neo-Nazi groups appears to have an unlikely new leader: a black activist who has vowed to dismantle it. Court documents filed Thursday suggest James Hart Stern wants to use his new position as director and president of the National Socialist Movement to undermine the Detroit-based group's defense against a lawsuit.

Yes, that is the story she told. None of the neighbors had negative comments. Neither did law enforcement. It will be an interesting case to follow. Hope I dont get called for jury duty.
Not sure what ned enrollment numbers are. But if this was the case no bond would ever pass. Would have to divide 156 mil by even less households. Then they would just find other ways to tax it. Imagine sales tax at 20%
