I just can't find it in my heart to pull for USC. While the SEC West cannibalize itself, inferior teams from the PAC-12, Big 12 and Notre Dame crawl up the rankings. looking forward to watching several good matchup this Saturday
-
I think this boils down to Bo Wallace. We have seen the best and worst of him, so lets see what happens. If Good Bo shows up, this will be a helluva game. If Bad Bo shows, it will be the Ags in a rout. I'm through making predictions concerning Bo Wallace and Ole Miss.
-
That is a brand new offensive line. A true freshman and a walk-on are starting for the ducks.
-
Can you Horns and Aggies quit peeing on every thread here? NOBODY at UT has a shot at the Heisman. Hill is a dark horse, however, his stock might rise as the luster on Mariota is now a little tarnished. (If A&M can beat Miss State!) While this probably is a QB award, I'm liking Gurley and Amari Cooper. I cant get excited about any Big 10 player, even Abdullah.

Right on king; I think that will happen. I went to bed and missed this! All these sportswriters that had Oregon inked in to play for the NC are scratching their heads now! As a SEC & Big 12 fan, I'm loving this! The ducks might take a beating next week @ UCLA. Arizona wasn't on my radar either, but I gotta say, this Rich Rod team is a different caliber than the old Mike Stoops teams. How about the 'Zona freshman QB! Wow!

Texans at Cowboys- Predictions
shovel replied to PhatMack19's topic in Professional Sports- NFL, NBA, MLB, Etc
I hope J.J. Watt has a couple of pick-six left in him for this game. I'm hoping that Matt Schaub-with-a-beard has the best game of his career. I dont think I can take any more looking at Jerry Jones grinning like a rabid possum. I like his Mr. Yuck face better. -
Miss State is a LOT better than Arkansas! A&M better play 4 quarters this week!
-
Bo Wallace will implode in front of the home crowd. Bama will NO turn the ball over as much. Alabama by 24.
-
Yep! 2003. I bet an Aggie a beer a point. He never paid up and no longer speaks to me. Sore losers... Baylor wont beat Texas that bad. They will take thier foot off the neck after they hang half a hundred on them!
-
I think Hoke will be the first to go, but like Craigs post, I would like it to be Woodard!
-
Steve, I completely agree with the text of the article. The website is kinda creepy though!

I dont think it is a quality win. Arkansas snatched defeat from the jaws of victory! It is a win however, and thats what matters in the end. -
Nash, here is the real author of this article: [Hidden Content] While I somewhat respect Coach Holtz, this didn't sound like him so I googled it. First of all, I mostly agree with the article, but the website you sent me too is as nutty as the late night am radio stuff! C'mon Nash! You are much better than this!

While I despise Holder and welcome his departure, I have NO confidence the President will select a good AG and will likely replace him with one of the same caliber. In the end... No change.

I dont know... My instinct says Mariotas's the guy, but the Duck OL is looking weak. If somebody gets to Mariota and shuts him down, the door is open for others. I like Petty to be the best in the big 12, but the A&M QB might prove different. If Knight at OU can get through his Jeckyll and Hyde complex, he could be the top QB this year. While I'm impressed with Trinkett, he is an also-ran along with Winston due to his off field antics. Hundley is overrated and the only other quality QB that comes to mind is Cook from Michigan State. I will take Mariota, then Petty (at this time)!

The KFDM story was only a feel-good stroy and lacked specifics, but with the annouced plant expansions and the ship channel deepening project, I can see things getting better. Due to Southeast Texas geographic location, existing infrastructure and the country's increasing energy needs, it only makes sense!

I'm anxious to see if the Razorbacks can exploit the A&M secondary. I'm also anxious to see A&M's offense against the Arkansas defense. Looks to be a great game at a neutral site. If I gotta pick a winner, I'll say A&M by a single score.. -
I waited until this thread almost played out before I responded. I'll admit, I'm part of the problem... I am no longer a season ticket holder at Lamar. I let them go, as I was not getting much bang for my buck. Part of the problem is my work schedule whick leaves me little free time, especially on Saturdays. When I do have the chance, I have to decide between seeing LU beat the snot out of no-name univerisy or watch Bama play on my own big screen at home. Id rather see a good, solid football game and not a lopsided affair. While winning has its allure, Lamar beating nobodies does nothing for me. A decent team coming to Lamar an beating them badly does nothing for me either. While the gameday atmosphere is MUCH better now than when I was a student 30+ years ago, it is still not enough.I don't buy into the commuter school issue, because I believe the commuter students would love to have some Cardinal pride themselves! So... what is the soultion? To me, a team that does well in its conference, continually improves, schedules worthy opponents and plays their hearts out every week would get me back on board. I dont have the time to tailgate or make any of the other social activities, but I do think these things bring people into the mix. Local recruitment plays into this, as well as the Head Coach being a good face and ambassador for Lamar. As several of you have said, a soild, winning program would take care of funding and recruitment. So to me, the solution has to point squarely at Woodard and the Athletic Director (Henderson?) You cant make chicken salad out of chicken droppings, so Lamar needs to find better chickens. They need to schedule better opponents and continue to recruit better athletes, win more games and build from there. Lamar is not much better today than when they restarted the program several years ago. I'm still rooting for them, but I'm not betting that things will improve until changes are made from the top down. Good discussion y'all!

I just finished reading "Art Briles -Looking Up" by Nick Eatman. Fabulous book! I became an Art Briles fan as he won his 4th State 4A Championship against my PNG Indians in 1999. That was the best coached, best disciplined high school team I had ever seen. I was a fan as he went to Tech, UH then Baylor. It was neat to revisit these memories and learn about Coach Briles. This book is a must-read if you are into Texas football. The paperback copy is about $15.

Don't ever bet on the Texans as long as Matt Scaub-with-a-beard is QB! I'm guessing we see Mallet sooner than expected.
-
I just watched the first half of this game too. I dearly paid for it at work today. Mariotta is the real deal, however, with that weak OL, I could see Oregon taking a loss this year. I don't think the PAC-12 is overrated like the Big 10, but they are certainly over-hyped. I'm tired of hearing about MM, the Ducks and the rest of these West Coast teams.
-
Clemson had too many chances to win this game, and couldn't do it. The ACC, like the Big 10 is overrated. It will be the playoffs before FSU sees legitimate competition.

All of Florida's points on turnovers. Saban is gonna explode!

Football is a rough and violent sport. Its hard to find men that can turn it on when playing and turn it off when not on the field; although that is what is required to participate in a civilized society. Look at it this way... If you did the same actions Jamies Winston has, what would your employer do?
-
It would be funny if it weren't the absolute truth. I've paid too close attention and now I have a headache. Time to forget this mess and watch some football. Which is exactly what our politicians want us to do!
