I'm not pulling for the Astros to fail, but reading this kind of stuff makes me understand that Jim Crane is the man I thought he was. What a mess.

Good post guys. I agree and understand about rebuilding. I have an interest in the minor leagues and will probably follow them more than the Astros. Lets just say that I am disappointed in some the statements by Mr Crane and am not hopeful for the future. I've been an Astros fan since I was a kid. I got really mad when they threw away Nolan Ryan. I got madder when McLane left the dome and jacked up the prices on everything and parted out the team like a junk car. I'm not mad anymore; I just dont care. If and when they put together a winning ball club, I may or may not be back. Meanwhile, there are some kids in the lower tiers of the organization that I am pulling for. I just dont see myself spending my hard-earned money to make Mr Crane a richer man. I wont spend extra money with cable or satellite providers either. Everybody has a point where they say enough. I have reached that point.

I'm glad you posted this. I have been thinking the same thing. I'm done with the Astros for now. I had hopes that Jim Crane would turn this team around and be a good owner for the baseball fans. So far, it appears that Mr Crane is going to milk this team and the fans. He can have it; without my support. While I do enjoy sports, my time on this earth is limited. I need to spend less time in front of the TV and more time doing things that matter. (Football season is different!) Without having the Astros on TV makes my course easier. To answer your question though, I do think it will hurt the fan base. Having a smaller presence on the radio hurts too. Without Milo calling the games I done even want to listen to the games either.

When Crane bought the team, we all took a wait-and-see attitude about him. I was hopeful, as McLane wasn't a good owner from a fans perspective. The longer I wait, the more I see and the less there is to like. I understand rebuilding, but Crane is showing his rear end here. With the Rangers kicking Nolan Ryan to the curb, I guess I'm going to have to watch high school and college baseball and leave the greedy professional teams alone. I'm glad to see Mack and swampdude post your dissatisfaction also. I am not alone here...

I read in Wednesdays Enterprise that the Astros changed their flagship radio station from KTRH to KBME. I dont see how going from a 50,000 watt station to a 5000 watt station makes any sense at all. Now that Milo is gone, I cant get excited about listening to the Astros get beat on the radio anyways...

Minor league team playing in a Putt-Putt park. I'm a lifelong Astros fan and am used to being disappointed. Jim Crane bought the team in shambles and it will take some time to build a team. Will have to wait and see if he wants a winner or not.

I'm delighted to see LU grab these local players.

Thank you Buddy! I'm sorry I had to leave, but I did get to tune in the last half hour of the show. I really enjoyed the meal and meeting some of the most knowledgeable high school football gurus in Southeast Texas. I'll try to make another show as the work schedule allows.
