1.
Another controversial game just like the 2003 game at LU!  ;D ;D
That brings back a memory! No.... I hope we dont have anything like that again! I do believe this will be a good game. PNG will win in the trenches, but tends to give up a couple of big plays. The PNG team as a whole is getting better every week. I look for the Indians to win a close one at home. Meanwhile, district 20-4A is up for grabs. Nederland staked a claim last night with a big win, Livingston is in the mix and I feel like Ozen and PNG will be battling the rest of the district for the two remaining spots. Looking forward to this game. Scalp 'em Indians!
 2. This doesn't surprise me.
 3.

Nah, nobody sick or dying, they just need all the help they can get to win at least one game this year.  That and Soulja is now on max dose of prosac, so he needs special recognition as you tune in the the good fella upstairs.  ;D ;D
I see that you are sailing high right now.  But this  is only for the moment.  In a few, Deja-Vu will stare you in the face and the Ant Mound will get exterminated in the first round by one of the lower tier teams squeaking into the playoffs.  You better believe that they will probably be the favorates if they are facing the Ant Mound.
As a long-time reader of this board, it is good to see the smokin' baby with his swagger back, even though it is against Soulja & company. I cant help but believe that Central will right the ship tonight.
 4. Good post pngfan1. It is a small, yet meaningful gesture to honor this young man and his family. I do hope that word gets out.
 5.
Hate to say it, but you can't predict MCM ! Its a whole different beast at this game. You can only wait for the cards to fall as they may ! One thing for sure, you can bet there is gonna be some great football tomorrow night !
PNGfan66 got it right. There is absolutely no telling when it comes to MCM. It will be a great night for football and I hope that both teams play hard and fair. No injuries to any of the boys. The weather should be perfect. If I get my wish, the Indians win. See y'all tonight at the Rez!
Something else that goes unmentioned about Nelson...He is probably the best downfield blocker we have ever had. If you get to go back and watch film you will see that Jayce is busy on every play! Turnover battle probably decides this one. Lost the battle against Livingston and Crosby and won the battle versus GP and TC.
I've noticed this too. Nelson is a heckuva talent. I hope he has a big night tonight.
 6.

Worst Team In MLB!!
The Astros locked up the 1st overall pick next year with a loss today.  Let's see if they can screw this one up.
They can and will. Even the sale of the team is likely to be screwed up! I still miss Nolan Ryan.
 7.
Wow. This takes the cake for the most hilarious post this week.  8)  ;D
funny, but true!
 8.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any weirder. :o    This looks like it may be part of the article that was posted the other day....wow talk about drive-by Journalism......writing a story and the writer of the story sitting back and laughing.  >:( I know it's two different bylines but I would be willing to bet this latest story was taking from the other one on Nederland. In my opinion this story was edited in such a way as to make Mathews look silly to take one sentence out of the entire interview and use that as the headline...... wow I thought the enterprise had a little more Journalistic integrity.
Next you'll find out the truth about Santa Claus and the tooth fairy! Silly article; Besides, there is a better role model than Nederland in Mid-County. Just sayin.....  ;D
 9.
There were some question marks this year after losing two offensive power players.  Their success so far this year is a real credit to the coaching staff and the rest of the team in making some adjustments. JMO  Of course we know it’s a tough district and it’s too early to celebrate.  Keep up the hard work.
Very true. The meat of their schedule is yet to come, but I'm picking the Bears to be 4-0 tomorrow.
 10.

what happened exactly to Collins?
Ok, mommabear, you started the rumor. I just played along, really there is nothing wrong with Collins. They took him out at Qb to keep the score down and give his backup some snaps. It's almost time to see who's ready, hope all you PNG fans a safe trip here and back home. Hope both teams come out of this game without any injuries and the best team wins. It's been good to have a little fun with you all, we do respect your city and school because of you have class and we love competeing against you. So drive safe and we will see you at THE JUNGLE. :) :) :) :) :) :)
Nice post Trocket. ndn2016 is right though... There will be more of NDN nation listening in on the radio than in the stands. Not enough tickets to go around. I will say that I really enjoyed my visit there a couple years ago. I liked being that close to the field. Plus, the Livingston folks were friendly and very hospitable. This will be a good game between two playoff bound teams.
 11. I didn't know that seniors could play JV ball. Back in the day, I had more fun playing JV. Like it or not, Varsity football is a business. Coaches careers depend on the W-L record. On JV, not so much. Just curious; where were seniors playing on the JV?
 12. Wow. 10 pages before a district game has been played. The dude abides does know how to stir the pot!  :)
 13. You are right 66! PNG looked tenative in the first half. Wore 'em down in the second and took control of the game. Texas city has some speed! The two Foreman kids are both burners. Slippery too. A lot of tackles were missed, especially in the first half. Texas City did have some big kids. One of their nose tackles was listed at 6'3" and 400 lbs. #79 was one of the biggest kids I've seen us line up against. The coaches will make corrections and will be ready for Livingston in two weeks. I wont be able to make that game but will tune in on the radio. Good win for the Indians in the home opener.
 14. PNG will bounce back this week and get a little revenge on Texas City. Homefield advantage helps here, but we dont have the "home cooking" with the refs like we used too!  ;D Of course, this is just one opinion of an "obnoxious PNG fan"!
 15.
how about: [move]Da' Butch Bowl[/move] sponsored by [s]BISD[/s]Walker Electric... ;D
Just kidding. Kinda feeling smartass this morning.
 16. Man, I dont know about that red turf. I kinda dug the blue turf at Boise State, but thats even grown old. I guess I'm more of a conformist than I realized. I might be brainwashed like the rest of the PNG folks, but I'm partial to a green field with purple end zones!
 17.
[s]Weird.[/s] Cool!
18.
Other than the refs being off their game a little, did anyone else notice that the clock management was absolutely horrible last night?
Clock management, refereeing, and both teams were a little sloppy last night. But it is the opening game of the season. I'm sure that we'll see better effort and execution by both teams as the season progresses. I'm not so sure that FredDavis was bashing coach T. I have as much respect for coach Thompson as anybody, but what I saw last night didnt look like Mustang football that I have seen for years. The Dan Hooks era is over, so maybe me and the Mustangs have to get used to something new. I'm looking forward to seeing the Mustangs again later in the season, as well as the Bulldogs. Nederland is usually a slow starter, so this win over WOS is kinda big. The Ned QB Raines looked good, as well as his big target (Shaw?). I like the big balls call for the 2 pointer as well as the long field goal try from the Mustangs. As one of many PNG fans in the stadium, it was a fun game to watch and an excellent opener to the 2011 season.
 19. Right now, this thread is the best read on the board!
 20.
Someone from Barbers Hill is really going to let this uneducated child get on here and talk about Barber's Hill education prowess with the mistakes in this young man's paragraph.  Not that I am going to be the grammar or spelling police, because I am no where near perfect, but if you are going to come on the board and talk about your education being better you better have all of your t's crossed, your i's dotted, sentences beginning with a capitol and at least know how to use the correct form of their, there, they're.  Get back in class son.
what i cannot understand is how the ponies team is still able to play with there grades. barbers hill shouldn't have been in 4 a for a while we barely had enough kids when we got moved into it. take some of the ponies kids and takes some of the bh kids and make them take the same test and you will see bh is better. we have lives outside of the gym and we train and study hard. we don't just get a slap on the back if we do not have good grades. if you go and actually look at last years team there was about at most 7 seniors that started. bh had a young team. the team should be better this year with most of the starters returning.

I'm glad you posted this. I was thinking the same thing, but with my big fingers on a little keyboard, I'm really not the guy to say sumpthin...  ;D
 21.
Faircloth went undefeated in his first season. How much more implementing or tweaking does that need? I am not going to sit here and talk smack. Nederland's program has been solid for years under Neumann and I expect it to be very competitive this season also.
No doubt! The Dogs will be a playoff team. So will the Indians. That being said, there is NO TELLING what will happen for MCM!  PNG had no defense last year, at least none when we played Ned. Then again, the Dogs still had a couple of starters on the sideline with injuries. This year, I hope both teams are at full strength and in top form. I'm looking forward to that game, but also looking forward to seeing what The highly touted Livingston Lions bring too.
 22. Cant put any of this blame on Crane yet, but I do wonder if he knows what he bought? I'm not sure I can lay a lot of blame on Ed Wade, though I cant let him off the hook either. It is gonna be a long dry spell for Astro fans. I dont see them fielding a winning team for years.
 23. You are right Soulja, bad example. I may have been misinformed. I was told that the only reason Ivory played football was because his parents wanted him to. It would have been a shame if this kid got hurt playing football when he excelled at the track. It is a bigger shame that poor personal decisions have all but destroyed his track career.
 24. From a homer point of view, nothing beats the Reservation. The concessions, however, are poor. The Butch is my favorite local stadium for away games. The stadium is awesome! Plus, the smoked turkey legs and popcorn balls make for the best Friday night game food anywhere!
