  1. Dang baddog, maybe you could trade one of your Wiis for your own record book! ;D Just kidding of course.
  2. Yankee Dawg, I'm glad you are back. I've missed your posts. I normally get tired of the PNG bashing, but its been quiet lately. I guess we had to set ourselves up for it. ;D
  3. He all but destroyed a good program at LCM. The Bears have a lot of good athletes, but you couldn't tell since Moody was in charge. Good luck to Coach Crouch and the Bears. I have no doubt they will be a much improved team, but a district championship is WAY far fetched.
  4. Homer Simpson voice " Ohhh Shiny!"
  5. While I can't remember players names, I do remember Anderson being the league champions every year I played. They flat out ran us every play. One year they played everybody on the bench and still almost hung half-a-hundred on us. I played for the LC Grizzlies and I don't think we won but a game or two each year.
  6. I remember the Jones Cowboys. The teams from Jones and Anderson rulled youth football back in the day.
  7. scooter, I know you hate OU, but you gotta know these kids are in a first class program. Coach Bob Stoops got a good couple of kids from SE Texas. C'mon scooter, you gotta admit it: OU doesn't suck as much now as is did yesterday!
  8. Does OU still suck now? I don't think so scooter!
  9. Man, y'all are outa my league. Cool stuff though!
  10. I'm not sure, but I think it was 68 or 69. I remember the bear in 67, but not after that. Yes, her name was Honey.
  11. Randall Dorsett brought the "Bear Fever". "Battlin Bears" was there with Crossland. Speaking of UIL outlawing stuff, back in the 60's, Little Cypress had a live bear as a mascot. Anybody remember the bears name and when were live mascots outlawed?
  12. That is funny. Politically incorrect, but funny. While you are there watch "Hitler finds out Michael Jackson has died".
  13. I would not underestimate any team in this district. At the same time I also woudn't overestimate Lumberton or Central. It's going to be a good season I think.
  14. I wish I could lay odds on that!
  15. Hey DV, I would like to hear what YOU think is going on. You know these kids and see their potential. Barring injury, playing football will have them ready for basketball season. Again, what are your thoughts?
  16. Although I like the idea of restoring native populations, this is a waste of tax dollars. This was done in the 70s N. of Leesville toward N. Central Louisiana. I feel these areas are too poulated for a sustainable bear population. When they do get too close to populated areas, then they become a dangerous nusiance.
  17. Nederland will be no pushover. If the game were later in the season, I'd favor Nederland.
  18. I'm an old Bear alum myself. I'm glad to see coach Crouch bring some excitement to the program. If gold helmets wash away some bojo then bring 'em on! I never cared for the bojo stuff. It was worse than the "Bear Fever" we had to endure back in the day. Good luck to the Bears this season.
  19. WOS will win in a close contest. WOS 20 Ned 17. I hope WOS will play PNG next year also.
  20. I agree with a lot of Palins views, but she does not express herself as well as she should to be on a national platform. I DO believe she has been treated with more harshness than any other candidate, male or female on this level. Politics is a game where the opponent may be discredited, but there was no fair play here at all. Folks in the media went after her and her family in a way that I've not seen before and I hope to never see again.
  21. I would think Livingston would want out of 20-4A. They have a long drive to every road game!
  22. AJ25 - I appreciate your knowledgeable posts and Astro-optomism. I've been a 'stros fan since the 60s and have had my heart broken too many times. They will make some changes but they will be too little, too late. They won't sign more pitching, but will resign aging players that McLane is fond of. I do hope that you are right.... but I don't have my hopes up. Good posts and thanks for the info
  23. Football is a business, at least from the high school varsity level on up. Fans are the difference between profit and loss.
  24. Good article Gabe! Good luck to Coach Huckaby and the Bobcats.
  25. I saw the spring game and I don't guess I saw the same things you did. For openers, both the purple and white team offense was higher octane schemes than we've seen since coach Long left. They both executed well for a spring game. They blew some holes in the defense, but the defensive backfield scrambled and made open field tackles that I haven't seen in a long time. PNG will look a LOT different than they have in the past. Y'all are gonna be surprised. Taking nothing away from a fine BH program, but PNG will win the first one at home.
