1. HJ won 7-0. Regan Padgett crushed it with four goals.
2. WOS will win by 3 TDs.  They're just that good.
3. Stangs are just dang good this year, and I look forward to seeing how far they go this year.
4. I looked up and saw their fans scattering as pepper spray and punches were flying.  Simply put, it was unbelievable behavior from folks who are supposed to be adults.
5.

It just depends on what you like to watch. I like to watch a team ,that is matched up even and play good def. and a good half court off. Small School.. But I understand that some like to watch a Team run up and down with dunks and alleys with very little def. 4 and 5a....
I like any team with skillful and quick guards who can score against those big guys. Which is why I have always admired guys like Isaiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, Nate Archibald, and Ernie DiGregorio. They defied the odds.
Don't forget Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Joe Dumars & John Stockman.
6. Doug Prewitt comes from a family of classy people.  I've know him and his family for over 12 yrs, and I'd expect nothing less than a class act from Doug.  What an example for others to emulate.  I, too, was a little shocked to hear he was trying to walk-on initially, but then it all made sense.  Here's a smaller than average D1 football player who's overachieving.  He's always been that way.  Lamar's coaching staff was lucky to have been around somebody of Doug's caliber, and the team will benefit from him continuing to stay in the program in a different capacity.  Ever notice who mops up the sweat at LU's basketball games?...Doug.  And he does it with a smile.  What a great young man!  He'll do anything for the benefit of the team, his university, or those around him.  I wish him continued success, and I expect we'll hear even greater things from his achievements.
7. I'm confident that in 1989, the 3A state champs, who I think went 36-0, could have whooped up on more than a few 5A teams.  They had a center named Shaquille O'Neal.  I think they went 35-1 his junior year when they were still in 2A.  Either way, when he played, there was basically one play...throw it high into the middle and let the big guy do this thing.  Seemed to work.
8. The article suggested the possibility of changing sites for the UIL basketball championships after the 2013 season.  I sure hope that doesn't happen.  Going to Austin the few times that I have gone was always a treat.  I guess money talks, so if they change sites, then they will go where they can get the most money.  Alamo Dome perhaps?
9. Question #1:  If a FORMER assistant knows everything there is to know about basketball, then would one infer that CURRENT assistants know more or less about basketball? Question #2:  Since Jerry West is the NBA logo, yet other players actually deserved to be the logo more than West, how many conspiracy theories does that make in someone's world?
10. I agree.  The anticipation is already intensifying.  Go Big Red !!
11. To the former assistant coach:  As stated earlier, I'd take Bird over Magic because he was a quiet, consistent leader.  I prefer a quiet, business-as-usual leader, not the flashy type that Magic was.  Magic's made-up name indicates what he thought of himself.  I appreciated what Magic brought to the court, but I preferred Bird's offerings more.  That's my opinion.  Why you discount so many opinions on here is beyond me.  I don't remember anybody doing that to you.  Suggesting race has anything to do with this discussion is simply silly, yet clearly representative of your motives. Sheesh
12. DV, I must apologize.  I thought there was nobody more hard-headed than you.
