    14-10 Lamar at half. Nicholls kicks a 50-yd FG as time runs out in 2nd quarter.

    Lamar may have a chance if the O-line blocks, defensive backs cover and defensive line won't get blown off the line on nearly every play. Do those things and LU's chances improve.

    I could have sworn Prewitt proved himself last year.  He actually produced some W's, leaving fans, alumni and the community with a bunch of optimism going into this year.  I'm not a coach, but from an unbiased LU fan's perspective, I find it difficult to believe that Prewitt doesn't start.  This discussion doesn't exist if Lamar was winning, but the fact that it does exist certainly supports the idea that the wrong QB may be starting.  Just sayin.

    The real question is where will The Honorable Dan R. Hooks sit tonight?  On the WOS side or on the side where his son plays.

    After watching LU lay down and give SHSU the win last weekend, nothing could get me back out there any time soon.  It was painful.

    Todd Sutherland and his staff deserve a lot of credit for the team's success year in and year out.  Folks constantly want to count the Hawks out, but yet, from somewhere out of nowhere, Sutherland and crew lead the young Hawks to the front of the pack.  Though they don't win state every year, the fact that HJ is this deep in the playoffs every year speaks volumes for the coaching staff.  Coach Sutherland is THE catalyst for HJ's success.  Congrats go the team and unlimited respect goes to Coach Sutherland and his assistants.  Great job, gentlemen!

    Al Caldwell, then Mike Sanchez; nothing personal, but Dave Hofferth is not even close to those two.

    I believe it will be a back and forth game that will come down to free throws and turnovers.  Gut instinct is Silsbee wins by 5 this time but HJ wins when they play in Sour Lake.  Anybody know the free throw percentages for the top 5 of each team?
