UTFAN06 you must be kidding. Either you are a great Kirbyville fan, or you only watched one Kirbyville game this year. Hemphill beat themselves the first time they played Kirbyville and played their best game of the year to get past them in 5 in the second. How can you say that when they were eating burgers and pizza at the start of the game and then acted like they won when they got on the bus afterward. That was a tank to anyone that has ever watched any volleyball.

Well coach guess you got what you wanted. Just a shame you are in a position of authority and are teaching your girls that winning at all cost is the most important thing. I know you think we are a bunch of country hicks in Hemphill with a 3 year volleyball program, but we yell and support our girls even though winning puts you in the tougher bracket. Why didn't you just forfiet and save both teams the expense of driving to Jasper. (Wait then the whole world would have known what you were up to) A wise man once said you reap what you sew...

Hemphill and Kirbyville will face either New Waverly or Anderson Shiro depending on 10/30/09 deciding game at Jasper ISD... Sure do like that Kirbyville coach, really gracious after their Hemphill win.

Woodville wins 22-2a District with perfect record 8-0, not before a hard fought battle with Hemphill. Woodville jumped out to a 2/0 lead before Hemphill settle down and won the next 2 matches. In the end Woodwille was to loaded with a 15-11 final match. Hemphill will meet Kirbyville in Jasper on Saturday, looks like a 1:00 p.m. start. Should be a good game for both teams to stay focused on play-offs starting Monday. Go Lady Hornets!!! What a great year for a 3 year program. Way to go Coach Mays...

Hemphill 3 Cleveland 1

Hemphill has surprised everyone this year. From last season with one district win, we are sitting in 2nd place at the moment. Hemphill looked good again last night, without their power outside hitter Liz Benoit, with a 3-1 win over Cleveland. In this district Woodville is undefeated at 6-0 record. Hemphill in second with 4-2 record. Kirbyville in at 3-3. San Augustine is 1-5 and Newton is 0-6. Interesting game coming up next Tuesday matching Hemphill with Woodville for the last game of the regular season. The first time we met them, we held our own the first set and clearly was not in it for the next 2. We'll see next Tuesday how strong we will be going into the playoffs.  :D

Hemphill 3 San Augustine 1

:)Hemphill beat Corrigan-Camden 3-0. Coorigan ;D doesn't look tough this year, but Hemphill continues to progress toward having success starting next week in district play. Benoit, Singelton, and Austin continue to improve and should be a force to reckon with this year in 22-2a. Way to go girls!!!

By the way, Hemphill is in Dist. 22-2a they beat Jasper 3-2 Tuesday night...

Hemphill 3 Jasper 2 Hemphill looked good against a 3a team. Benoit and Singelton are starting to dominate the front row and are both getting stronger with some awesome kills. Way to go HEMPHILL....

Hemphill 3 Kennard 1 Kennard is a 1a school near Crockett. They are a basketball powerhouse but not strong in VB. Hemphill blew them away and was embarrased in the 3rd set. Came back in the 4th and won 25-6.

Hemphill is only in their 3rd year of volleyball. They didn't have much success the first two seasons but seems to have a good team this year. It took 5 sets for Cleveland (3a) to defeat Hemphill (2a) finally squeaked by in the 5th 19-17. Way to go girls, keep up the hard work and it will pay off in distrcit!!!
