An idol is an object (or person) of extreme devotion. To pounce on someone for an act your idol serially commits is pretty dang extreme devotion, i.e. the idol can do no wrong in your eyes. A god, in other words. Hypocrite is too light a term for the excuses his devoted make to justify his behavior.

Nope. Manchin did a little sabre rattling, but he’s already backed out. It’s reported that more than enough delegates have endorsed her to secure the nomination. There’s going to be a virtual roll cal vote August 7 to set the table for the convention. Dems are going to play the Repubs like a Stradivarius. The suburban women’s vote just got locked up not to mention fired up. The youth vote just got supercharged. Trump’s not going to have the time to sufficiently demonize her. Georgia will be in play now. North Carolina just went up for grabs. I’ll bet even money her nomination will put Florida in play.

Yeah, and the Pope ain’t Catholic, either.

Because this is an unprecedented event. Manchin already declared he’s not running as reported by the Washington Post. It’ll take a while to settle out. I can see where some might be concerned about the delegates already committed to Biden and think an open convention might be more fair to the constituency. Besides, she can’t officially receive the nomination until the convention anyway. Anybody else who wants to can start campaigning right now. Her support will solidify over the next couple of weeks.
