1. Bought the DVD and watched it within an hour of coming home.  Quality is great!  Commentators are awesome!  Only thing I can say is if we (WOS - Sr) are on the home side during our next game -- I am gonna have to tone it down cause you can hear what is being said by those who are closest to either the camera or the press box; don't know which one I was hearing the talking from. The only reason I say that is because I'm sure no one wants to pay money to hear my horn blowing, my homemade noise makers, and my screaming.  ;D This DVD is awesome - you can, at times, actually hear helmut against helmut.  The replays are awesome.  There were times during the game that I thought my son was the one who missed the block but the DVD told me a different story.  I was able to see wonderful plays that I had not seen during "live action". If you didn't buy one: Why not?  If you are going to be at LCM on the 31st -- make sure you buy one.  You won't be disappointed!  This is the 2nd DVD I have bought from Sheffield Production and I love each of them.  Looking forward to buying another one on the 31st!!!!
2. speaking of Links: Those links at BC last night sure were good!  Especially since I got them for half-price!  Bought every one they had which was only 6 but they fed my hungry Lil Mustang and Lil Mustang Coach.

11.

Thats 50% of whats wrong with people on this board. They say things that are inaccurate or they do not know the allthe facts. Then everyone get stirred up and p-od. If gone souht would not have posted to challenge the previous post, would the truth come out???? I wish eveyone that comments on the youth threads would get involved and then you would be careful what you post
The truth is that it is a rule for my son's youth football team that is part of the STJFL. I apologized for thinking that is was a STJFL rule. Wasn't trying to stir the pot or po people with inaccurate info or for not knowing all the facts. I read it prior to the season and read STJFL as well as WBBIFL; therefore, the fact is I knew it was a rule for our team just didn't remember it wasn't a rule for all teams. Again I apologize.
As far as I'm concerned Allsports mom: all is fine.  Don't fret over it okay?
12.
No pass play for youth players should be handled by the parents. Thats what wrong now, goverment and others want stick their nose in everyones business. And parents should be the ones handling the issues with thier kids, not a league. I agree queen. Now, would expect that coaches would emphasize good grades and staying out of trouble.
thank you for that support.  Sincerely, Glenda Beach
13. I would like to put my two cents worth in about the report card checking suggestion: I disagree with it at all levels.  My oldest son is a baseball player and is looking forward to his first year at the high school level.  He is making very good grades in everything EXCEPT Algebra - he is in fact failing it by 4 points.  I see how much he struggles with this subject.  He attends tutoring and checks the internet for any and all help he can get.  He is freaking out about the "no pass no play rule" because he is doing his best and still struggles.  My youngest, my Lil Mustang, has a learning disability so he struggles all of the time.  He does what he is supposed to do.  He has overcome a lot in the past two years but he still struggles.  He does his best.  Is it right that he would be punished by taking away the one extra curricular activity that "gets him going" just because his best isn't good enough to get a passing grade?  Its bad enough that he has the bad grades and he feels stuck; but to take away his football would make him feel even worse. Let the kids play.  You never know WHY the boys/girls are making that failing grade.  It is automatically assumed its because the kid is not trying.  I'm here to tell you that is NOT always the truth!
14. Round 1 is fast approaching so I am starting this topic while I have the time to.  Let everyone know what team you are reporting on; whether it is flag, peewee, jr. or sr. and finally, the score.
15. Ms Queenb, one of our favorite fans and supporters. Although play off DVDs have been $25 in the past, this year The DVDs are $30. Tax is still included as part of the price. In our defense: sales the last two years were good, but not as much as we had hoped and we are still supporting a full crew out there all day and making the DVDs on location. Most of our customers know and realize that ALL our other multi camera shoots, ( graduations and dance recitals ) have been $30 for years. Anyone that has gone out of the area to watch and buy a drill team, dance recital, or cheerleader competition DVD know these sell anywhere from $35 - $50+ P/H and tax. We feel our production values and quality levels (featuring a full game with announcers, multi camera angle and replays ) are worth as much as any of those "out of area" video companies. I hope this $5 increase does not offend or aggravate any of our proud parents and customers, but I did wish you to know why the increase and what we tried to do the first two years. see 'ya on the field I don't care how much it costs -- I'm buying one! Will U be the one selling them? I sure would like to meet you! Thanks!
16. Hey Tony: My suggestion would be make sure that the roster is typed and in a font bigger then the normal 12. I'd suggest maybe a 16 or even 20. Just my opinion. I know you didn't ask me but you also know I gotta put my two cents in whenever I can!!! ;D
17. I'm partial to WOS! Go Stangs!!!!
18. how much are they this year? Whatever the cost - count me in for at least one (depending on my bills this week - it's hard being an adult!) ;D
19. Were you 9 years old and playing for the first time ever? Did you have a learning disability that you struggled with everyday and was embarrassed by it? Did you stutter when speaking and had a lot of people make fun of you? Football is his "escape" from all of the above and to be further embarrassed with a room full of people watching him have to disrobe disturbed him. Not to mention that the 9 year old was 5 ft. 3 inches at the time and just as tall as a few of his coaches!! I know you didn't mean anything by your comment because you ended it with a cute little face but I had to mention the above just to try and prove a point. To put a kid through that just because he was (and I'm not stretching the truth here) 1 pound above the magical number is ridiculous. When a "normal" child has to do that, they probably laugh at it. When a child like my Gary, Jr. has to do it, it humiliates them. I said from the beginning that if he was over he would just not play because I didn't agree with him having to disrobe to make his weight go down. He chose to do it, without my permission, because he wanted to play very badly (is that correct grammer? ???). Playing football boosts his self esteem and makes him feel good about himself. I love watching him play. I just don't like the humiliation that he, and others, have to go through in order to play. Ok; i'm off my soap box. Hope all is good. Good luck to all this weekend -- no matter what time you play. WOS Sr. plays at 7 p.m. Saturday so we are at the other end of that timeline you are talking about.
20. Well said BigD95. And the kid he is talking about is my son. I don't think he's the best back in this league neither does he. All the time he tells me daddy i have to keep working to get better each day. BigD95 the next thing they're going to do for us is pick who they want us to start in our backfield. If they do it really wouldn't matter. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D. Our kids and coaching staff know what we have to do the next 3 weeks. Lets just play some football and good luck to all the teams hmm, I feel your pain. Last year Gary, Jr. had to do the same thing at Certification and yet, I still heard complaints from the opposing team that he is "too big" to be in his league. He was humiliated and wouldn't eat for days. We had the first game last year (JR. Blue) and yes, it was miserable because like all WOS teams, we show up at least an hour, more often earlier then that, for our games. We had to be at the field at 6:30 and no, it was NOT a local field. But guys, as you know, we won and everything turned out okay. I just wanted to say that I do feel your frustration - about the time and the humiliation part.
21. Icewater wrote: "dealing with parents which is enough by itself" R u saying that parents are difficult? If so, I want to say that you are not talking about me .. I am the quiet one on the sidelines each week yelling in a whisper "go team" and just lightly clapping my hands. Oh, and BTW: if anyone believes that then I have some beachfront real estate to sell you for real cheap! I can't say what kind of person Icewater is because even though he knows who I am I have yet to figure out who he is! As far as playing early in the morning - last year when my son played in round one (I think it was round 1) we had the early game and let me tell you what: you need to thank your stars its NOT in late November / Early December like it was last year because I'm telling you all the blankets and hot chocolate I had that day did not help with the bone chilling weather we all had to indure. Whew! That was rough. And folks, that is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! Thank you very much.
22. My bad. I thought when you told us you said you were talking to Eric. Do you accept my apology? Please! I'm with you - whoever we play it is bound to be a good game. Adjustments will need to be made and Lord, I pray no one gets hurts either. I'm looking forward to those links someone else (I don't remember who it was) promised to be on the pit at Bridge City. BTW: ***OFF SUBJECT HERE*** For all of the Bridge City & Orangefield folks on this site: I understand the old Pizza Hut building on Texas Ave. is being turned into a Pinehurst BBQ. If that is true -- and you have not tried the one here in Orange by the hospital -- you guys are in for a HUGE treat! The people who work there are super nice but the food is even better. The prices are not to high. I'm not a big turkey eater but their smoked turkey is DELISH! Again, I do apologize for the misunderstanding Mustang11. From here on out, I will keep my mouth :-X about what I hear / think I hear in a crowded and LOUD environment.
23. rod saw us at the carnival last night and he was on the phone with Eric. He stopped us and said we were playing lumberton white and NOT Bridge City. Guess we'll find out something more definite in a day or so.
24. WOS SR. vs. Vidor WOS - 7 Vidor - 18 The boys played a good game from both teams. Hats off to each team. Coaches for Vidor are another subject. To turn around and do what a few of them did to the WOS fans was 100% uncalled for just because as always, our fans get into the game. If you can't handle the way the Mustangs fan get behind the team then put ear plugs in before the game! >
25. I'm told that the first round will be in Bridge City. Other then that I cannot say
