BigD: I agree. Not only that, this year in particular, the fact that some teams had a "forfeit win" which of course, was put in the books as "1-0". This one game that was never played could make 100% difference in the outcome of (as u say) who stays home and who goes to the playoffs.

We did have a player go down and he is one of our better players; however, his injury just allows the others to show their talent. Don't let the fact that we have one down make you think that WOS is out of the running because we are not .. far from it. We have lost ONE game this year and that was (in my opinion) because the boys just were not into the late game that night. They have gotten their stuff together and are all working toward the same goal: Winning.

Last year was my first year to have my son participate in STJFL football and come playoff dates, I was surprised to find out that there is a charge to get into the games. After it was explained to me, I fully understood and accepted the charge and gladly paid the small fee each week. I'm making this topic to try and avoid confusion for anyone who did not know that there is a charge. I don't remember all of the reasons but I do remember that the refs get paid out of this admission fee. Field maintenance. Gosh, guys, help me out for those who don't know. Anyway, I also would like to know if anyone out there knows what the fee is going to be this year? I think it was $3 per person last year. Whatever the price is ... I will gladly pay it and I hope you do too.

can't wait to see the very professional tapes again this year. Hopefully, the outcome is the same for my son as it was last year: superbowl champions! Note to anyone who has not seen the videos: very much worth every small penny you pay!! get one! get two! I bought one for me and one for my inlaws in California -- they loved it!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D WOS Sr. played OF Saturday night in Orangefield. For those of you who know me, you also know that I love my football and get excited when watching it. Mix in the love and pride I have for my kids, I get very vocal in my encouragement for both Gary and the team in general. I try to keep my emotions in check - I really do but I have trouble with that. I grew up with Dallas Cowboy parties at home and Stark High football which later became the Mustangs when Stark High and West Orange Cheifs combined (Lived in West Orange but since my daddy was a Sark High Tiger, we were a Stark High Tiger family!) I root for my son when he comes out on the field. I was getting into the game as usual when I heard a man above me comment "she really does have a big mouth!". My sister looked at me to see if I heard him and I just smiled and kept on yelling for my team. I think all teams need big mouth mama's rooting for them! Don't you?

Why do you say that? We have lost only one game this year so why are we "4th or 5th best in the league"? Doesn't WINS count for anything? Maybe I don't understand this ranking stuff but it sure seems to me that if a team has lost only ONE game then they should be in a better position then 4th or 5th. Just asking -- not trying to cause trouble because in the end, it will decided on the field.

so thrilled to see WOS in the list! We got our butts handed to us by Lumberton when we played them but at the same time, we were minus a LOT of players that game. Hopefully, when we meet them again the outcome will be reversed! My little man played for the Jr. team last year and his team was the SuperBowl Champs! I'm praying that WHEN WOS makes it to the SuperBowl this year I will be able to actually see it and not be in the hospital!!

WOS Sr. 34 Beaumont 0 don't let the score fool you though. Those kids played hard. I was a little disappointed in a few of the parents from the Beaumont Bulldog team though and if someone from that team is reading this then let me say I'm not being mean. It's one thing to comment on the kids of the opposing team when you are sitting with just people from your team around you but care needs to be taken when parents and friends of BOTH teams are sitting in one area. I heard comments about several of our players but thought to myself "not my kid - I can't say anything" but when someone behind me singled out MY SON with a rude comment - I couldn't contain myself and had to speak up and defend him. > So Eric, if you get a complaint about some fat woman twisting off on parents from the Beaumont team, I will be the first to say: It was MEEEE!! Shouldn't been saying such unkind words about my Lil Mustang. I'm glad that we were allowed to finish the game despite it thundering pretty loudly and it was raining. NO lightening though. As far as I know, none of the kids were hurt and all went home soaking wet but in good health. Now for Orangefield and Vidor then playoffs. Good luck to all for the upcoming games. all super bowl games are played on the same day last year there were professional people at each game to record the games. DVD;s were sold for $10 and it was very much worth it. Just to let you know: if your child reaches playoffs there is a charge to each game. If I remember right, it was $2 each person last year. Again, even though I did not agree at first; once it was explained to me why there is a charge I 100% understood.

just dont' set your canopy up in front of spectators to where they can't see the game. Yes of course , i guess i thought that went without saying!!! not necessarily my friend. I will not say which team it was but they put their canopy's right in front of the stadium seats and people who sat low could not see the field without either going up in the stands or running back and forth in the stands to see past the tent. I tripped a few times because I chose to stay low and was going back and forth to see the field. I even specifically ASKED that they not put the tent up in front of the stands because it would obstruct the view and a few of the gentlemen looked at me and kept putting the tent up. The kids needed it so all is okay. We won!!

Just curious what this was since this week is my week for snacks at the game... orange slices and grapes that were (what looked like) ice cold! simple and full of vitamin C!
