I predict that WOS Sr. team will win over the Bmt. team we are playing. BTW: our game was moved from 4:00 to 2:00 p.m. so everyone may want to recheck their schedules! Just putting that out there. I pray for a little cooler weather then we have had the past games. I did see one thing last week from our opposing team that I want to steal: The snack packs that were handed out to the kids during halftime. I'm doing that this week for the kids on my son's team. Look me up - I might have one for you too along with an ice cold drink. If you don't know me then just ask cause apparently a lot of people know me and I have no clue who they are on this board! Ha ha

Those cool shades work great especially since I have little to choose from since I wear regular glasses as well. Besides, how did you see me when that dang tent was right in my face the entire game even though I asked the coaches of the other team to PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE not put it up because people who choose to sit low wouldn't be able to see the game. I did get a lot of exercise though running so i could see past the tent. I actually think the tent is a wonderful idea .. just not in front of the sitting area for the spectators.

Take it easy on us since we do play ya'll next week... get all the frustrations out at practice.... LOL I did inform our coaches that past is past & they also need to fill one out in all future games cuz we wouldn't want to this to happen if we were to ever sneak in a win and have to forfeit cuz of paperwork. They had not felt that they needed to keep one with only 3to5 subs (depending on who shows up) everyone was going to get 10 plays and they have even though it wasn't on paper. Thank you Sports Mom, for being honest on here i feel as if some people think we are not playing kids because they are not good but that is not the case at all. It was a simple mistake first time for us in 3 years, but I put my hand on the Bible when I say that if my backups are playing you can't tell the difference from my starters, see I had a lot of kids move up from the Flag division and it took some time but they are ready to play now. I hope we can all move on and learn from my teams mistake and to all of the coaches on here that have ever not filled one out take my advice and fill one out or you will have to pay the consequences. I will be requesting a coach from their team to watch my sheets from now on and we will watch theirs because that is the way it is really supposed to work otherwise whose to say anyone cant just fill out their sheet before the game is over. I have played High School football, college for Stephen F. Austin State University and Semi-Pro football and I would never want to see a kid not play the sport that I love so much, it's the greatest sport ever so to all you other coaches good luck and have a great season. ;D Icewater: who are you? PNG Proud: I'm using your post only because it is short and easier to quote then others - not singleing you out in anyway. I have something to say about this: it doesn't matter if a team loses most of the games that they play. The kids who suit up each game - play their hardest - ALL deserve to play in a game. Their parents paid the money. the kids pay the price of sweating and bruises. If the child is not good at his position - guess what? It doesn't matter because when push comes to shove -- it is just a game! It is up to the coaches to keep track of the mandatory play rule. it is my opinion that rule was put into effect to protect those kids who are not as good as the others. I have not seen anyone say this but just in case it is thought of being said: Yes, you do have enough coaches on the sidelines at each game to be able to keep track of it. All teams want to win; but that win should not be at the expense of a child's self esteem and when he is not allowed to play, it affects them. Now, I'm off my soap box for now. tiime to get ready to go to work.

Through reading posts made on this board, I've found out that Bmt. is having problems with their teams. They have had to combine right? i've read about some of the teams not being a team anymore. I have not been able to figure out if this affects only a few teams and their schedules or everyone who is supposed to be playing them. If I'm remembering my schedule right, WOS sr. is scheduled to play a Bmt. team this weekend. Can anyone tell me if the problem they are having will affect the game?

metal bleachers at WOS .. bring a stadium chair if you have one. If you are going to be around for the Sr. game tomorrow; look me up. I will be the loud mouth mom calling everyone baby and telling them that it will be okay even if they fumble or something! I always sit around the 50 yard line and always at the bottom.

wouldn't know about last year - my little man played Jr.'s. Hopefully our team will be on the mend and back to the way I know they can play. With more and more kids getting sick though (according to news reports) I will not be surprised if some teams don't have to forfeit because of not enough players. HOpe not but the way things are going, it could happen.

LUmberton may have "spanked" WOS Sr. team the other night but it really wasn't hard to do since we had so many players out sick. One kid had to leave and be put on IV's at the hospital. Regardless, there was no reason for WOS to allow Lumberton to beat them that bad. Maybe they heard too many calls being yelled to them by too many people? Just asking!!!!! >

my kid is 10. This is his second year playing football. He is 5 ft. 4 inches and weighs a bit more then the 125. He has to play Sr. ball or nothing. He plays Sr. ball.

WOS Senior had several players out sick and/or injured. The boys were frustrated and just not "in the game" Saturday night. Things will be different in the next game. BTW: Which one ended up in the ER? I have not heard about that. I know one left the game sick but did not know it was to go to the ER. Will check on that tonight at practice.

yep; didn't want to say 100 cause like i said, we live in se texas and ya just never know. Case in point: my son's team played in PNG today in the rain! no thundering and lightening but the wind did pick up several times and the sky got a bit darker then it already was. What a day!

SR WOS 18 PNG 0 despite what the score indicates,PNG played a good game today. It rained the entire time and I am pleased that no one was seriously hurt because of it. I have a question and forgive me for asking in this forum but so many people will be on here I know someone can answer me. Is it true that during the games in Vidor that the fans were not allowed to cheer for the teams? I heard two people say the same thing but i didn't ask questions. Does anyone know about this? Is it true?

after just now hearing the weather: I can 99% guarantee there will be no football this weekend. Of course, we do live in Southeast Texas so anything could happen.

when you say "energy drinks" are you meaning Gatorade and Powerade? I know that is probably a stupid question but I really need to know. I send my son to practice with a big Gatorade or Powerade drink and do the same for gameday. If this is not what he needs, then someone, please, tell me because I don't want him to get hurt in anyway because of the heat.

#1: Regardless if it WAS heat or something else, a child is dead. #2: I myself was overcome by the heat this past Saturday in Kountze and could not stay to see my son play. All I was doing was sitting there, the players were in (what seems like it would weigh) tons of shoulder pads and helmets and pants, etc. It can and does happen. #3: water, water, water / take a break, break, break #4: When its all said and done, no matter what your age, isn't it just a game and not worth risking lives over? Sure, we all want our children to win. Coaches want their teams to win. That doesn't mean that common sense should be put aside. #5: Finally, if this child did die from heat related issues then everyone, in our area and elsewhere, needs to see to it that our kids do not have this happen to them. There is NOTHING to laugh about when it comes to the health and safety of our kids!

WHere can one get a canopy thing like I saw on Kountze side this past weekend? Does anyone know how much they cost?
