I’ll take Westwood at +18, but would be ecstatic to lose that pick haha

I’ll be at the Kountze/Westwood game. I think I would set the line at Kountze -12, but not going to lie, I’m a little nervous. I think Westwood is not as good as they were last year. They graduated a couple of solid pieces, but they bring back that man. He’s performance last year was special, going for 55 in an overtime loss. Kountze is better this year and have that experience in big games they lacked last year. We know what Sells brings, and Donald has been great in the postseason. Smart and Courts have been shooting it really well the last couple of weeks. When those two are hitting open shots, it’s hard for anybody to beat Kountze. I would expect Kountze to roll with and 8 man rotation this week. This is the biggest hurdle for the Lions so far, should be a good game.

I agree. Though I wouldn’t be absolutely shocked if EC pulled it off, Hitchcock isn’t the power house they were last year. Still pretty dang good, though.

Good luck to Silsbee this year. Hopefully both teams make it to San Antonio.

They have graduated a couple of really solid senior classes lately and they really miss their leadership. A lot of what I’ve seen with this current team, wasn’t going to fly with those older guys.

Again, you can only play games against teams that agree to play the games. Kountze held up pretty well at the WB Summer League. But getting regular season games on the schedule is different. Teams can decline.

Kountze pre-district schedule was nothing to scoff at. You can’t play teams that decline the games. I’m sure different teams turn down games for different reasons so no reason to speculate. It was a fun topic a few weeks ago, but at this point in the season it’s clear this particular game will not happen. Good luck to both teams on their potential runs to State.

I don’t think they will forfeit the game, but I could be wrong on that. We will see. Everybody that left the bench will get a one game suspension. The two that started the initial melee are probably looking at 3 games minimal. Possibly more. That will be the coaches decision. If the UIL is satisfied with the coaches decisions, it will end there. The UIL with look into it pretty thoroughly, getting statements and meeting with coaches and ADs

I’m not super surprised about this one. Buna is playing much better in round 2. They played Kountze pretty tough in the first half of their game. Still, a pretty impressive win.

Oof definitely the worst week I’ve had. Ouch
