1. Orangefield will be just fine!!!!!!
2. I think it's going to be an exciting season of 3A volleyball.......Like I said before it comes down to whoever shows up on GAME DAY and whatever team has the less injuries!!!!  I wouldn't be counting those WOS Mustangs out, they have been working hard off season and it shows......Kudo's to the Coach, you have done a great job with your team and it shows.....Will be totally surprise if they are not in the mix of things, that's for sure.....Good luck ladies....
3. Congrat's to a Great Coach and a great team.....It is obvious that your school supports you and the volleyball program at Tarkington, which is awesome....Good luck the rest of the year, would love to see you guys at the State Tournament.....Your teams are fun to watch, congrat's.....!!!!
4.
I have held my tongue on this subject as long as I can.  I have absolutely no problem with summer programs wether it be select softball or AAU or USVBA volleyball.  Anything that keeps the kids involved is great and I understand the parents wanting to get their child exposure BUT, if they choose to play school sports and be a member of a team, they choose to be a part of that team and agree to those requirements.   If select ball is their priority, that's great but don't expect the coach and players to cater to their schedule.  It is not fair to the players OR coach.  Coaches are professionals who are hired to produce successful programs.  You can not run a successful program when kids are choosing to put their priorities over the team's.  Is it important to them?  Of course it is.  Many feel this is where they will get a scholarship (another post for another time) but what about the kid who feels they need to work to have more money?  Do we excuse their absence because they had to work or the dancer whose parents have paid lots of money for their dance lessons and they have to miss for a dance recital??  I can see it now, trying to run a practice or prepare for a game when everyone is going in different directions!  High school sports is a commitment.  If they are not willing to make that commitment, don't  expect the others to put in the time and then welcome them whenever it suits THEIR schedule.
Another Kudo's.....Thanks for speaking your tongue.....Couldn't agree with you more!!!!!
5. Parents in the past, can I said I heard it in Mid County, check their kids out of school and enroll them when they get back....Its all about how you work the system.....That's why you don't bash people on a public forum cause then everyone knows what's going on.....too late for that now, right JohnnyT....although, it might still work... ;)
6.
This has been going for years with youth sports especially in Mid County. It's handled under the radar, not on a public forum.
I couldn't agree more!!!!
7. I bet Bleed and Aggie can't wait for this day to get here!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D
8.

This softball tournament is a National Tournament with teams from 5 or six different states attending. There will college coaches there recruiting with scholarships. If this was just a normal tournament I would see missing it for a High School practice or game but this is a National event. In the fall we have softball tournaments also and the softball players are instucted that their High School comes first because it is their schools season. Well it is still Summer Balls (select teams) main season and if the High school can be patient for just a couple of days I am sure the kids would do what ever make up work the coach would require be done. If we all just wanted to get along and work together.
While I understand the importance of this tournament, you must also look at it from the standpoint of the volleyball coaches.  One of the things I have learned from gathering the 2010 schedules is how incredibly short the "training" is before play actually starts.  Volleyball teams start practice on Monday (Aug. 2) and are into scrimmages that Friday (Aug. 6) and/or Saturday (Aug. 7) with the first game of the season being on the following Tuesday (Aug. 10).  So there are not a whole lot of practices before the first games and an athlete that misses just a couple is missing most, if not all, or the team's first practices.  This will be a little difficult to make up.
Good point WOSgrad, very good point.....That doesn't leave much time for coaches overseeing makeup workouts either, if you think about it.....
9. Congrat's Samantha and good luck to you!!!!!
10. Rizon I like your assessment!!  You probably haven't seen much of WOS lately, but I wouldn't count them out either.  They have been working hard and as long as they play volleyball and not worry about those Friday night lights it should be a good year for them as well.  Every team will have to show up and play every point!!   Good Luck to all!!!!!
11. YOU would AGGIE.......... ;)  WOS looked good in summer league too, they have been working on their game....This ought to be an exciting year!!!!
12. Orangefield in 2........Go Cats!!!!!
13. I don't see how this matters either!!  The DOGS are playing well and playing as a TEAM..  The only thing they will be focusing on is--ONE GAME AT A TIME!!!  GO DOGS!!!
14. This was one of the best games of baseball i have seen in a long time....Congrat's to the Orangefield Bobcats on a great win and a District Championship!!!!  It's all about the TEAM - keep your heads up and focus and take it one game at a TIME!!!!! Great job Coach Bennett!!!!!
15. I will go with SILSBEE, HJ AND WOS once again......As for OF, they have always worked hard, during season and off season and their JV and Freshman teams have always done good.....Had one of the best group of Seniors this past year and looked to be a very disappointing season for them and their fans.....I don't see much happening for them any different this next year......For one, you have to believe in yourself and rise above all the negative that is around you.....As for HF and BC they have showed alot of heart the past few years, they are moving in the right direction..... Got some great teams in this district, tigers, hawks, mustangs, bobcats, cardinals and horns.....Good Luck to you all and prove everyone wrong.....
16. Great job Bulldogs!!!!
17. I agree, Dogs will win this game.....7-2......go Dogs!
18. This is going to be an exciting game....Matt Hicks is an amazing baseball player....But tonight it's all about those Bobcats.....Let's go CATS!!!!!!!  3 - 2  CATS win....
19. Sent you a message, please let me know.....
20. A facility is much in need for something like this to happen.  Does anyone have any ideas or know of anyone that might be interested in donating to the cause.  I think the last time i checked it would cost maybe 3 million, lol - but that would be a facliity to play both basketball and volleyball and you'd just split the days, like MWF vball and the other days would be bball and or tournaments on the weekend.  Even if a high school coach wouldn't mind helping out, it's alot of work on them to accomplish this task, organizing gym time, insurance, waivers, open and close gym - just alot to ask of a high school coach.  But if anyone has any ideas please talk about it on here. I totally agree with the tryout, players need to be playing with their level of play, it's the only way to get better in any sport.  This sport is no different from any other select team, if your child wants to play then the parents will do everything in their power to make it happen.  Lets get this going!!!!!!!
21. Nederland will win this game.....2-1......GO DOGS!!!!!
22. Hester all the way, 2-0....Vidor.....
23. 1696dogs, thanks for all your updates, you are doing a great job.......Go Dogs.......
