Salter18, If this is you go back to class and work on your NORTH and SOUTH runs....you are a very talented kid that has played very well as has your teammates, do not get on here and draw a big target on your back. Good Luck to you, make this game the best you have played all year and the Bears will be in great shape.
-
GoDogs27, Since you like numbers see if you remember these: 28 6 41 28 63 24 16 That's a total of 206 or a average of 29.4 points per game given up by your Defense...... Now you see why we have a chance.
-
How great is it for the LCM Community and Football Team to have so many people talking this good about them in week 8 of the season........... Coach Moody should be very proud and excited about the future of his teams.
-
NDN, You are really loosing it, "The Nederland defense will shut us down" Well we have hope considering your offense scored 24 on them, and coming in to the LCM game PNG was the fastest team ever to play at the reservation.........man how things can turn in 3 hours...... Should be a great game despite the lil' warrior. Mosley is a great player and he will need to be contained, don't think you can outright stop him, but don't let anyone else beat you. Packed house @ the Bear Cave and great weather should make it fun.

LC-M At Dayton...any predictions or comments???
Bears replied to bronco1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Sportsreport nice analogy, please excuse Venom33 he is one of those avid WOS supporters who hates that the Bears are having success. I to looked at there schedule and tend to agree, does that mean the Bears win...no it means they will matchup fairly well. People forget that PNG was being praised as the "Fastest, and quickest team ever at the reservation" and playoff contenders for the top spot until the LCM game. If the Bears continue to improve the run game and hit those big passes to keep Dayton honest who knows, Bears will try to play keep away by chewing up the clock. Defense has been awesome but they must improve because this will be the best run offense they have faced this year. Good Luck to both teams. -
LC-M At Dayton...any predictions or comments???
Bears replied to bronco1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
My prediction is not about the score but about the continued effort and solid play by the Bears, we all know that Dayton has played district very well, but they can be beat and they have been. That being said I can bet Coach Moody is focused on a great game plan and an increased focus on improving every week, I was there for Kashmere, PNG and Ozen and the Bears played better each week. The defense contained a PNG running team that not many have done, then turned around and contained a very fast Ozen team and knocked out one of the best QB's for the second half. I was most impressed with LCM going right at the stud CB Wells and beating him. The defense plays with great emotion and Coach Parsons should take a bow because he is intense and continues to coach that way after every series. The offense blocks better than any Bear team I have seen and that means everyone from the line to the WR's to the QB. I was amazed at all the Ozen kids that were just getting pounded by the Bears and having to get help off the field, Bears were very physical......when is the last time you heard that about LCM???? Good Luck against Dayton and continue to improve... -
The win by the Bears over PNG was huge for a program and a new coach trying to turn things around, but it is only 1 win, they need to build on this and continue to get better. Now Bumblin' Bears, I hope you are not the young man I know very well and live by because I would be very disappointed in the comments. If not here it is in a nut shell, YOU DON'T QUIT EVER!!!! No matter what, you say you quit because of BOJO, that's BS. One of the players made this his 3rd or 4th time to quit in 2 years. I was at the game Friday and believe me none of the 5 were missed at all. So if you are mad at Coach Moody for your choice to throw in the towel boy do you have a long life ahead blameing everyone else....... Bears in a close one over Ozen if they continue to improve.

WO-S vs LC-M..Who Wins And Why Comments
Bears replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Here is a given, The Mustang die hards, GoStangs,Kicker,HEB,Grad and many more will always trash LCM regardless of what the school, Coaches or Players try to do to become more successfull in football. The whole BS about BOJO is getting rather ridiculous and listening to the grown men trash it is even worse. The Coach is trying to get the kids and community to believe they can and will be better and to work harder. Who cares what slogan they use, go back and look who started trashing it and it is traced right back to a WOS adult. I have read thousands of post on many boards over the last 3 or 4 years and one think remains the same, WOS adults continue to trash everything and anything LCM does, and the funny part is I have never seen a "REAL" LCM poster trash WOS. You guys are better in football.... great....LCM is trying and will become better. They talk about all the coaches leaving and one of the reasons is Coach Moody works long hours and will never be accused of not putting forth 100% effort. I have over the years defended the Bears and even though we have moved on I will still feel the need to attempt to stop the continous bashing. Please get over it and move on these are kids. I know some of you and you know me, even if I disliked someone or something as bad as you guys do LCM I would in time get over it............. I predict WOS will beat LCM tonight but I hope for the community it is a good game and that someone actually gives props to both teams. Good Luck to both teams and let's hope they both avoid injuries. -
MIF04, You will be shocked as I am because there is a showcase this weekend @ Lamar. Houston Heat will be sending a team along with the normal other teams. Most of my passion for select revolves around the fact that I have been associated with the Heat for 3 years and during that time I have seen the kids that sign with Texas and Rice and TCU and A&M all the big schools, and I know our local talent very well. I think to myself man I know 2 or 3 players from the Triangle that are as good if not better.......problem, they have not been seen. Remember this quote..." It's about being seen at the right time by the right Coach and during the right situation" My son is living proof of that. The idea of hosting showcases is a good one, bring in McNeese St., Lamar, USL, SFA, Angelina, Galveston, LSU-E, all of these programs would probably send a rep. to the Beaumont area. And for the Babe Ruth league let them host it and charge $350.00 a team and they get all concessions as well as gate to help benefit the local league.

Admin, You guys do a excellent job in Babe Ruth and you probably would admit yourself the ALL-STAR team is a select team and during those strong tourney runs you generate lots of interest. Would I be wrong saying Hood was a good example???
-
The idea of select has changed over the years, a select team that never travels to the right places may not have as much effect as a High level high profile team that enters in the big tourney's, EX. Houston Heat, Sun Devils, Columbia Angels..... And now colleges are hosting showcases and inviting as many college coaches that are close by to see these games. College Coaches can only see a very few HS games and mostly at the end of the season. I guess my biggest points are if the kids are playing at the high level against this kind of competition in front of all these coaches starting there Jr. years they will be followed. But your HS coach has got to help out by passing on all the letters received and in most cases communicating with these universities. If you are on some of these high profile select teams they have excellent contacts and work as hard as any coach to get all of there kids signed. And when they are talking to a Coach from a college about a certain kid that they are interested in the Select coach focuses on that kid and does not try to sell other kids instead. And that does happen in HS, I agree I missed some kids on the earlier list with a majority of them @ Lamar. my bad. But I suggest as a parent if you want your kid to play at the next level have him evaluated by a scout or college for what level they believe he can play at. Then have your son give you a list of schools in that group that he would like to pursue, send them tapes or go on line and fill out the Prospective Player sheet. Sam Moore is also a excellent source, he can help you know what level your kid should pursue and he has excellent contacts and will do all he can to help.

**Scrimmage Scores And Comments Here (updated)**
Bears replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Actually LCM's First team outscored BC's first 1-0, then LCM's 2nd outscored BC's 2nd 1-0, then the Bears put in a 3rd team while BC kept most of the 2's only because of depth. BC 2-0. In 1 quarter of game situation it was 0-0. LCM look pretty good considering all the experts predicting a blow out. Taylor F #31 broke a few long runs and P. Driver completed some nice passes to one of the best receivers in the area J. Thomas BC needs to find someone besides Dishon or they are going to wear this kid out, he probably carried it at least 70% of the time. LCM defense look good, swarmed to the ball. -
Former UT Pitching Coach Shows Lack Of Class
Bears replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
We actually played ball against the Moldenhauer kid this summer and he can flat out hit, and he only throws about 91mph. He played for the SA Sliders But I know a local kid that doubled off of him............. -
My main point was when you play in there backyard it makes it easier to see the talent, and How many years has this area had big college signings?? Last Baseball player to Texas- Beau Hale, Last to A&M- Tyner, Ole' Miss-Never and the same for Pan Am and LSU- never And that makes it better for all the younger kids coming up.
-
Good Job Tim congrats on a great day in your baseball life. Tim is another example of what summer select can do, get you seen. His HS play is great but to play on a top notch select team that travels all over is a strong reason for this. I have been to the campus and also met the coaches at Ole' Miss and it is fantastic in Oxford you will love it and so will Dad. Select has had a strong influnece in local signings, such as: Ehlert-A&M, SETX Sundevils Dishon-LSU, SETX Sundevils Ferguson-Ole' Miss, SETX Sundevils Dugas-Texas Pan Am, Houston Heat So when they ask if the money and travel is worth it........it is easy to answer.

Predictions for Scrimmages this week!
Bears replied to CoachTater's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think the BC/LCM matchup will be a good one remember BC was hit hard by graduation and LCM returns 9 starters on both sides of the ball. Still have Dishon, so BC will always have the breakaway threat. LCM has a fine RB in Taylor F. who emerged at the end of last year, should be a 1,000 yard back barring injuries. Bears have to find replacements for Harley-TE, Dugas-QB which accounted for a big chunk of offense. Cards have to replace all world Cody Sparks as well as the RB who slips my mind. -
The Orange Bowl Is Back! Who Wins This One?
Bears replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It is good for all that they agreed to play again, the Drivers have 2 that will be playing, Marvalous who was a All District LB last year and younger Brother President who will likely QB. It will be a good ballgame but the mustangs will win in the end. As far as the scoreboard goes not sure if it was needed as much as other things but it will make it attractive for playoff games which in turn generate revenue. -
3 players from last years team will sign today @ 3pm, Should be Dugas with UTPA, Schnieder with Laredo JC, and Lemoine with Richland JC. 8 Sr. Starters and 7 all going to the next level Ehlert-A&M Womack-LSU-E Lemoine-Richland JC Schnieder-Laredo JC Dugas- UT-Pan Am Adams-Hill JC Cassidy-Hill JC Last Sr. Starter Martin is going to UT and trying to walk on the Golf Team.

Johnny, Only 1 hour to the MTV hot spot for spring break...............Wonder if that help the Coach get him?????
-
Jerrod has committed to play @ UT-Pan Am in Edinburg for the next 4 years. The Broncs had one of the Top 20 toughest schedules in NCAA D1 last year. Currently they are a independent but have applied for the WAC as well as the Mid American conf. The schedule in 2007 includes series against Texas, A&M,Oklahoma,TCU,K-Sate,Lamar, SHSU,SFA,UTSA, and Oregon St. www.utpabroncs.com

I know Brandon fairly well and to say it was a surprise he fell to the 11th round is a understatement, If they are offerring that much money bad news for UT because he will never go. Better for Brandon, Red Sox much better organization...........also remember it is a business at that level.

Here's The 20 4A All District Team
Bears replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Until these coaches stop picking against each other instead of for the best players it will never change, explain how 2 players come from a Beaumont school that was ten run ruled most of the time. You are correct about the Kid from Nederland, but he got caught up in the political ring....
