  1. Several have cast blame at the new AD for this happening and I just don't see it that way. Orangefield has basically turned into a little PNG over the years so there are lots of similarities, but you can't be upset about a guy bettering his situation in all facets. For the record, the new Orangefield coach is a rock star too.
  2. Not really following much of this. You think Lumberton is a better job than Hamshire Fannett?
  3. So his tenure at Hamshire Fannett was even shorter than his dad's! I guess I get it. Hard to pass up a chance to learn from one of the masters in Josh Mitchell.
  4. He had a really good run at Orangefield, but can't blame the guy for moving up in classification, prestige, and income!
  5. LCM is bad, but what do you expect? Peevy has that place a football factory.
  6. I thought he was going to Hamshire Fannett? He would have helped put them over the top.
  7. You know all those teams stunk. Nothing against any of their coaches.
  8. I saw them several times and never thought that team was good. They did well in an awful district, but what happened when they played the only quality team in Silsbee? 70 piece. Then they lost to a 4 seed in the playoffs. I think Robertson is a good coach that does more with less. A lot like Coach Mitchell at Lumberton.
  9. I don't know how you evaluate an assistant coach. I'm sure those guys are good, though. My point is that United is going to drop off and the main reason for it is not coaching changes.
  10. No disrespect to the Hancock brothers (one in the world's baggiest suit and the other in a baby suit), but them losing 6 D1 athletes over the last three years is why they will drop off. A butterfly could have coached those teams successfully.
  11. Sure. You reassign an employee and they leave voluntarily instead of being fired and being open to litigation. The outcome is the same, but you are making my point. The superintendent and AD and principal are all empowered to make personnel decisions. Instead of accepting the decision made, you talk about lawyering up, no one else was reprimanded, railroad job. I am old enough to remember when high school sports taught life lessons...accountability being chief among them.
  12. I heard the assistant was going to get this job and assume it was referring to the old Vidor coach, Nate Smith. I always thought he did more with less at Vidor and can't help but think he shares some responsibility in Vidor's recent success.
  13. Classic Bridge City. Always someone else's fault, refs/umpires cheated, AD with an agenda, yada, yada, yada. As far as I can tell it's damn near impossible to get fired at these schools so when someone does get fired, it's usually something. Drama at Bridge City is a constant. The guy did a good job coaching basketball and I'm sure he'll continue that somewhere else. Time to move on.
  14. I don't think he was referring to the Bridge City AD.
