I'm curious to see how the Bobcats perform at TABC in coming weeks. Not sure their youth can replace the experience that left. Hopefully Whitmire can make up for it.

I don't think Kountze winning the district is all that out there. East Chambers lost a lot, Orangefield lost almost all their scoring, Anahuac lost the best big in the league, and Buna seems to be really down. I still have EC I think. My bold prediction is the the Dotson kid at BU signs with a major college program.

They've always been in really competitive districts and really have not gotten in a whole lot. They had a chance at beating Manvel this season.

I get that Harris is a high major basketball player and Miller is going to play football, but Drelon is absolutely better than Harris right now. He's got to be Silsbee HS best athlete ever.

I said exactly what I feel about Buna. It's a community that doesn't produce a lot of elite athleticism. Your football and track records back that statement up. So what? Orangefield, and many other communities, are similar. To compete and succeed in basketball with lesser athletes is commendable. Still think that is a complement. Or maybe you think your hometown is a hotbed like Miami/Dade County? Maybe the coaches have underachieved with the abundance of talent? I think most people probably share my opinion.

I think you're taking what was intended as a complement and turning it into something else. I saw Buna this year and they were competitive with a bunch of guys who don't jump out at you athletically. Thats pretty standard for Buna with most teams being a little better. Lots of good players have come through there, but I don't recall a whole lot of 6'6 guys tearing down rims. Whitmire always did more with less and that's impressive.

I hope not too. Orangefield has been really good with McDonald and could continue to be really good with Whitmire. He has a good track record of taking kids without much athleticism and natural talent and turning them into good players and teams.

Those Connells really are the best. I heard Whitmire is going to pass due to too much drama. If true, that's a shame because he's a really good coach. Buna should have never let him walk.

One starting wr from bc another from fort bend. WOS qb got benched and moved over mid season. WOS rb moved over week 10. So not a ton of impact, but not for lack of trying... Back on track. I believe DJ Wilson is interviewing early next week.

I poked at him earlier, but you guys are being a little hard on the guy. He just wants the best for his son. If Orangefield doesn't hire a coach to his liking they will likely be taking his talents to IMG Academy.

If you're talking about the kids dad that always wears the cool flat bill hat, then I could not think of a worse idea. I guess it would make for good TV though.
