1.
I swear I have never seem a more unimpressive win. Its like the game with bh our kids look like their just going through the motions. The fans are down and our team is flat. Saw a little more life than the week before but something just feels off at the games doesnt feel intense like bronco football usually does. Man everytime I see jak just standing on the sidelines it kills me that kid was a stud he would be good for 2 touchdowns everygame. I hope he gets to enjoy his senior year and play at least a little bit.
New coaching changes maybe? I know for sure whoever is calling the plays hasn't quite gotten in a rhythm yet either. Broncos are moving the ball at times though. Just way too many 3rd and 10's. It seems like every other play Herrera is dropping deep waiting on these long 30 yard routes to develop, then scrambling. Like I said though, not all bad. They are scoring points. Just not quite in the rhythm we're used to seeing. They'll be fine. Broncos trademark is improving throughout the season.
 2.
Overall  good performance by the Bronxo's ! Glalena Park had some some athletes their front line was pushing us around like teddy bears. With our QB & reciever core we would be State bound with their linemen. Intensity was up with some young players on defense breaking out the wood. Got to give the game ball to our QB for fending off pressure all night and making some great passes , not to mention great catches by our recievers .
I would have to give it to Sullivan (#2) 2 picks - 1 for a TD and a fumble recovery - and for layin the wood all night! Great game son!
 3.
Hawkeye, they changed the highschool football forum location, were do you find it in the chron.................fans are we ready...........................
I noticed it was gone this year too. Have not found it. It was weak anyway. Nothing like the knowledgable fans here on SETX!  I was referring to last year.
 4. I see Dayton returning to their winning ways at home tonight. The questions is how will they go about it. A team has a tendancy to take on the personality of the head coach. I don't know Mr. Hancock, but I hope he is mean, nasty, and very angry about last weeks loss! Broncos 38 GP 14
 5.
Dayton Fans had lots of hope, But when the game was on the rope, I looked across into your stands, But most were gone they had already ran!! We can, We Will, We’re Barbers Hill We put on quite a show Today my heart is filled with glee To know Tyrone is eating crow! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Weak. Very weak. What's up with this stuff about the Bronco fans leaving anyway? BH scored the game winning TD. The game was over so people went home. That's generally what you do.
 6. Congrats again to the Hill! That was one heck of a game! I saw the BH/Lumberton game and BH looked like a totally different team last night. Intensity is the best word to describe what I saw. Not just raw emotion though, the Eagles played with poise at the same time. They overcame some turnovers that could have lost the game for them. Great coaching and all around great effort. I knew we were in trouble when they announced the thing about #3's brother. Karma was on yall's side. As it should have been. Then he made the tackle! I even got a lump in my throat when that happened. I said last night I sensed a changing of the guard. Not just because the Hill won this one game. Because of what I saw on the Broncos sideline. Absolutely nothing! No fire, no passion, no adjustments, no nothing. It seemed like the whole team (starting with the coaches) just showed up for a scrimmage! Even big Stew's presence on the sideline in the second half didn't matter. I sure hope this loss wakes somebody up.
 7. Great game. Congrats to BH. The eagles wanted this one more.
 8.

Never said it was only dayton that fielded underclassman was just answering somebodys post no need to get upset bh jv played really good
Does anyone know why Dayton B freshman game was forfeited? Dayton had about 60 players on the sideline, certainly more than enough for two teams. BH played the Fresh A team in the 1st half and the B team in the 2nd half.  Final score was Day 36 BH 6. Dayton scored all the pts in the 1st half and made it look easy. Glad the JV stepped it up on defense and won.
We don't really have a freshmen B team--last year we split them up to form a B team just to accommodate BH, had a couple of injuries, so two kids had to play a couple of plays on both teams and someone threw a "little girl " hissy fit about it. That might be the reason it didn't happen again--maybe
Without a B team how do you get enough playing time for all those kids? Seems like a lot of them would be sitting the bench. But I guess your system works for you.
After the 6 weeks grades, most teams do not have enough players to field a B team.
The 1st six week grading period doesn't end until next week. Anyway I doubt if any of the Dayton starters will have failing grades, if you know what I mean.
Good Lord, here we go with the "Dayton's cheating" crying again. Usually doesn't start till after the game. Preliminary excuses I guess.  ::)
 9. BH "Delusions of Grandeur"  ;D ;D
 10.
dayton fans lets be loud tonight........................................fans are you ready......................................fans are you ready..................
Man 55, you really like that "fans are you ready" thing don't you. Lol! I saw on the chronicle website where you put like 20 threads of "fans are you ready" on there. But I agree. Get loud and stay late!
 11. Gameday! Looking forward to a good game tonight. I know BH is a much improved team this year. Denny is a talented QB with a good team around him. This flexbone type offense has been successful against the Broncos (to a certain degree) in the past. Both Vidor and Livingston were able to sustain drives. Just not enough of them. It'll be interesting to see how the young Bronco defense responds. Ironically, this year the Bronco defense seems to be better against the pass than the run. BH defense is also much improved. Good LB's and a stingy secondary. This strength of the Dayton offense is the O line. (as it usually is) Can they control the line of scrimmage enough to pound out some first downs on the ground? I think if they can, this will freeze those aggresive linebackers enough to open up some other options. I'm thinking 35 - 24 Dayton but we shall see. Good luck to both teams tonight. Here's to a clean and injury free game!
 12. Anyone heard how Chambers is doing? Hope he's able to play Friday. They have got to find a way to get that kid some more touches. He can be very elusive!
 13.

Parents letting their kids run wild.  Of course they don't let them run wild right by where they are. They send them up to the top of the stands where I am to run around. Also, people that bring umbrellas to the game.  It's a football game, no umbrellas should be allowed.  Bring a rainsuit.
Parents letting their kids run wild. when you come to Bronco Stadium.. you can sit on the home side... cause kids from 8th grade down, if they aren't with an adult they have to sit in a designated area.. And if they are caught and there is no adult for them to be taken to, their parent/guardian are called to come pick them up and they are held under the stands until an adult gets there.
You mean they don't arrest them !!!!... :o :o
Umm No?
They just hold them in a fenced in area under the stands. Sorta like a kennel at the dog pound. If no one claims them after 3 days......we call Tyronne. Most are his anyway. ;)
 14. Great job Octfeb! Excellant high school football research. Maxpreps may not be the most accurate poll around, but kudos to ya for looking! I saw on another thread where you were looking up team records, point totals and whatnot. You've come along way. Two years ago you barely knew the difference between an extra point and a field goal. Before you know it, even Liltex won't have nothing on you! (stat wise at least) Keep up the good work!
 15.
someone didn't pick dayton what a tool. it's like 100% bh all but one dayton/crosby
Most likely the same tool that picked NF. Just a wild guess.
 16. 1. No high school kids in the stands cheering. Most larger schools have student body groups going crazy in the stands. Faces/body painted, dressed up, standing up the whole game, the works.  Dayton has none. What's up with that? 2. The same old tired pre-game routine. Cheerleader introductions (way too many by the way), school songs, run through sign, anthem, play. The same thing for the last 50 years! Don't get me wrong, I like all that stuff but can we spice it up somehow? Imagination people! I have some ideas if the DISD admin. wants to contact me.  ;D
 17.
Sorry I let you down Hawkeye.
Don't mention it. It was warranted this time.
 18.
With the athletes dayton has its going to be tough for bh. Here is what gets me about the people from dayton they have nothing better to do than get on here and bad mouth bh people. Congratulations on being good at football, because y'all don't succeed in anything else, well there some kids who all American burglars and are the best at stealing school property. I think I saw a dayton fan on the corner of I 10 asking for donations he said he use to play football for the broncos, and that was the high point of his life now he is following in the communities foot steps. Oh and while tyrone is eating nachos and cola on the bh payers tax dollars, dayton will begging bh fagain for some more money so they can compete academic wise with the hill, since academics are what help people succeed in life, oh wait high school football in dayton is what helps people succeed
Do me a favor cougarshow, go back to the start of this thread and count the posts where someone actually bad mouths anothers community. I just did. You'll find that it's the other way around from what you're describing. Yes, we talk football smack, because we can.(Usually) Making fun of a mascount does not count. (Not our fault the big chicken wears a tutu) Sounds like you're the one doing the bad mouthing here. Especially since you insist on pointing out some teenager mistakes. Go ahead rag on the kids some more why don't you. Oh and if you live in a glass house don't throw rocks. Hwy. 90 towns ain't that much different from Htown to Beaumont. Ours just happens to have a good football program.
 19. The Deer are ruttin this year and on a roll. Deer Park 27 - 17
 20. Not sure whats up with Stratford, must have had a big graduation. I attended the Brenham/Stratford game last year. That was a good one. All the Cubs wanted and then some! As I recall, they had a quick little RB, not sure if he's gone or not. Montgomery has put up some impressive numbers. They look stout for sure. I see they have another Bolfing coming down the pike! I'll also take the Bears in a close one. 35 - 31
 21.
Bh sucks Dayton will win in a blowout 54-7
Well spoken Bill.  ;D
 22.
Dayton opened the playbook a little tonight and it payed off.  I have to give it to the O-Line tonight. Started a little slow but shored it up quickly. The D is staring to stiffen and Tousant is starting to hit his stride on the D line. If there is one word I can use about this team its "MOTOR". DA BRONX bring it every play. The only negative tonight was DA HORSE getting a little nicked up. Overall great game  ;D
????????? Any word on how Jakari is? Not the leg I hope.
 23.
Barnicle needs to fire da stats reporter.Good lawd they have Ike w more yds???????????Have Carranco w/a 46 yd fg when he kicked from the 45-a 55 yd fg.Next got Carranco w/1 punt for 117 yds.Dayton mauled Ike tonight then gets complacent w/8 min left and goes out of the game plan to rushing right up the middle and slacking on defense.2nd week in a row the last 8 min has not been pretty.Plenty of eye witnesses tonight got to see Carranco send a kickoff thru and over the goal post.As for da ant mound, well it could get ugly again ::) ::) ;) ;D
I've talked to the Chronicle high school reporters about the stats and they say they just print (or post) the stats that are sent in from the pressbox. They don't have anyone out there at these games gathering stats. I suppose there could still be misprints though. A 55 yarder!!!!!! No kidding? Man I wish I could have seen that.
 24.
Finally got to get to a game so sorry hawkeye about the lack of updates.  O-line needs to bring it early and often and the slow starts are killing us.  Glad to see the passing game stretch the field although it did take a little bit.  Defense....tackle better and catch the ball.  At least 6 balls that could've been picked off and 2 that should've.  Coverage was there though most of the night, even on the tipped ball td...strange to say but it's going to be tough to pass on this team.  Really enjoyed the effort and toughness on both sides of the ball against a far bigger team.  Let's get those injuries healed soon!  Herrerra went out and bought him some speed from somewhere and all the receivers seem to be a step faster as well.  Let's take it to the ants next week!
Don't mention it. Everyone deserves a night off once in a while. I did, however, miss your detailed play-by-play updates. From what I've read it sounds like this was a good win for the Broncos. I was worried about the defense after the Nederland scrimmage, but it sounds like them boys are getting it together. Way to go Broncos!
 25.
BH would like to respectfully decline next weeks game ;D Dayton looking tough! :o
Don't worry. Ike is weak this year and besides.... the Hill is for Real!Lol!
