1. Early in the year when McBride(JD was RB) was in the slot the Broncos ran him on some slant routes with X and Fowler wide and they when for about 20 everytime. If they ran that same play with X it would be nasty.

Those were more of swing passes to a running back out of the backfield rather than wide receiver slant routes. But like HUM398 says, it's getting the playmakers in space with blockers. If it works, I'm all for it! I love to see Mcbride in the open field. The kid is exciting!
2. Okay now. That's what I'm talking about. A gameplan!! Only problem with it is, the Broncos don't throw quick slants. I've been begging (me and Liltex) all year on the message board for some but we're still waiting.  :D

On the other hand though, the coaching staff does a great job of getting the playmakers in space the way you described. So I'm sure they'll open it up and see what happens. Sounds like another key might be downfield blocking in this type of game. Another one of the Broncos attributes.  ;D
3. I sincerely hope that turnovers are not a big factor in this game for either team. I hate all the looking back saying what if....  I'd rather beat or get beaten by good old hardnosed football.

I believe KP could be successful against the Broncos by spreading the field and utilizing the short to medium range passing game, mixed in with some draws, shuttle passes, etc. to their capable running back. If they line up and try to pound it up the middle or off tackle, that would be playing to Dayton's strength. IMO

Since I haven't seen KP yet, it's hard to say what the Broncos need to do to be successful against the Panthers. The obvious is hang on to the rock. Beyond that, I would say whatever it takes to sustain drives and move the chains. I hope the broncos don't fall into the run, run, then 3rd & 7 pass attempt. That's not the game they play best. Hopefully we can run the ball against this team, which would open the passing lanes a bit.

I would like to see if they can get Baldwin some more touches this game, and see if just maybe he can get outside and use his speed against this team. I have it all envisioned in my mind how this game should go. Problem is, it never quite works that way for me.  ;D

What a football game Saturday night good luck to the Broncos bring it home for region 3 and southeast Texas. Both teams played their hearts out Saturday night and it was a shame that somebody had to loose.

The Lions will shake this off, regroup, and take heart in the fact they have all their skill guys coming back and some very good building blocks on the O-line.

Let's just hope the Broncos and Lions meet a little later in the  playoffs in 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really was a great game. I knew the Lions would be tough, but man! Good luck to Livingston next year!
6. This game will clear some things up for me. I feel like I have a pretty good idea where Central stands in the pecking order. But with Humble, I'm not quite sure yet. I'm inclined to put them way up there with Brenham, Friendswood if not better. Their only loss being to a tough 5A Dobie team, plus looking at how they handled Stratford, Willis, and KP seems to back up my inclination. Strange how they've flown under the radar this year.

Central is no pushover obviously, so like I said, this game will answer some questions. At least for me anyway.
7. Where are all the insiders who were willing participants in some unabashed "Gage bashing" early in the season?  :o  "Outed offense" , "Don't they know people try the forward pass now" , among all the others. I know, I know, it wasn't you. It must have been all those Price supporters.

Hey,

Im a Varsity Football Player at K Park.  Just wanted to let you know that we are very honored to have been given a chance to play such an outstanding yet still humble team.  We obviously dont expect to win due to the unmatchable level of skill with which your high school dream team plays.  When our coaches even mention the Broncos we cower behind whatever is near us.  In fact we arent even coming up with a winning game strategy, w are simply devising a plan in which the outcome is not certain death for everyone on our team... so far no luck.
I personally would like nothing more than to kneel on the ground and beg for your mercy.  It is true we hide behind our only two decent players; #31 and #8 and it is also true that us beating Brenham was simply a fluke.  I would like to finish up by saying that when we ineveitably lose we all want to buy season tickets to your next season and we intend to support you in your coming state championship this year.

To Be Taken In Complete  Seriousness,

The Kingwood Park Panther Footballer

The 08' defense played a much tougher backfield in the Livingston Lions then what we saw Saturday. Our defense is doing good but it is a different defense than 06'-08'. It's hard to make comparisons from year to year and I know everyone is excited but this is not our best defense in the last 5 years.

Statistics for District Play:
Year      PF       PA
2006     269      49
2007     252      28
2008     319      71
2009     284      101
2010     353      47

This years defense is good but, when you consider the quality of the opponents in 06'-07' defenses would have held Livingston 2010 to little or nothing.

Good post about the defense. I'll take the second best in the last 5 years considering those were some salty groups!  ;) The best offense in the last 5 years? Hmmmmm.

Same here. All I can remember is that if we hadn't fumbled, we may have needed 1 more first down or a good punt and a little D and we would have sealed it. I try to forget the bad stuff too. It would have been nice to play Tivy again. Although I didn't mind not having to deal with that Tivy74 guy or whatever his screen name was. He was a piece of work!
I still think that was Tyrone pirating a screen name to get us all worked up.

:D :D Yea maybe I guess. But judging from the extraordinary amount of nastiness and racial overtones from that guy, I would guess BH89-2.  ;D ;D Note the two cheesy grins which means thats a joke, to steal a page from his playbook.
11. Haven't seen Montgomery this year, but I have seen Crosby. Crosby has the size and speed that most coaches would kill to have. Not to mention one of the best QB's in the state. I'm not gonna speculate as to why they seem to have under-achieved a little this year. But hey, they are playing in the second round.

Just based off what I've seen of Crosby and the scores/stats of the Bears....I have to believe Montgomery will win this one by 14 or so. But as we've seen, anything can happen.

And yes Tater, I'm from Dayton and that's my opinion posted on a public sports forum. Sorry if it bothers you.
