I luv how 90% of response have to do with football... FYI daytons not without trashing locker rooms. In fact i hear people take censored out of thier visitors locker rooms when dayton comes to town.

Luv how you dismiss your players actions, completely a laud someone as a legend... How many state titles has he won exactly? o yeah 0.

With that said, lets look at recent track records. Last 3 playrs to leave Dayton for D1 Yall had a Qb go to WVU, Cody Green go to Nebraska and AJ go to UH.

Cody Greens never going to see the field unless theirs injury. WVU kid quit and came home, and Aj got kicked out.

Crosby sent one to baylor... hes the Nickelback starting and has a 3.0+ GPA... AT BAYLOR. Merka's Going to TCU, he'll play because hes multidimensional and a good kid.

Funny how it works like that...

Wow dude. Raggin on the kids now. That's lower than low. Feel good about it?

Hawkeye, we are on page 1.  We are the 21st school listed (last I checked).  You are voting for us, but on one of our duplicates.  They all will count though, so thanks.

A while back I saw where people were recognizing the coaches who taught Coach Stewart and allowed him to win a game or two.  I went even farther back in history and actually found Coach running one of those plays his mentors taught him.

Just looked at this bracket. They have Humble losing in first round. I just don't see that happening. Wouldn't be surprised to see Humble playing Montgomery in regional final. Humble is big, athletic, and deep.
Very true! Humble/Central would be a great game to watch. Can't wait til playoff time! It's gonna be fun to see how it all plays out. Just wish I could be everywhere at once. 8)

These "projections" have Tivy going D1. They have been D2 the last few years. I also noticed they have El Campo losing to Manvel in the first round. Manvel is tough, no doubt. But I think El Campo is gonna spoil some playoff plans for a few teams.
Tivy is officially in as D1, already.
Hmmm....realignment must have forced them to play with the big boys. I bet I know a few D2 schools that are glad they don't have to face Manziel as a senior in the playoffs. ;)
  8. I totally agree that that list of QB's would tear up any secondary. And they did many times! I certainly meant no disrepect to any secondary player (or coach) over the last few years. Any year for that matter. All I'm trying to say is, come playoff time in any round, who would you rather face? A prolific passing team or a running team of the same caliber? I think I know the answer.

I think 99% of all high school teams would rather face a running team. Not just the Broncos. It is high school after all. At the higher levels, the secondary is usally made up of the best athletes from the region. In high school, those kids are QB's and wide receiver's.

I think Crosby will go for it on the majority of their 4th downs.  I also think that we will see a lot of gadget plays from the cougars, i.e. Merka running or passing out of the punt formations (especially early), flea-flickers, heck we might even see the fumblerooski or the oopty-oop.  I'm sure the broncos will prepare and beat Crosby soundly because I just don't see Crosby competing in this one without resulting to trick plays.
Yes of course! Always have to be ready for the oopy-oop!  :D :D :D
  10. Well like I said, the secondary is good. But if I was forced to pick a weaker area of the defense, I would say the back end. Just looking back over the last few years at the teams that beat us or gave us trouble will tell the story. Other than El Campo (they were just big and stout), all those teams had either a great passing game or a QB that could scramble. Sometimes both.

This years defense has bucked the trend somewhat though. You can really tell that they have worked on staying at home and containing. Secondary is also much better at making a play on the ball. Turn and look!! Finally!! It used to be that they were always in position to tackle after the catch. Now they're in position to make a play on the ball or separate the receiver from the ball.

The playoffs will tell us just how much better they are in these areas. Crosby may give us a hint, but I don't think their passing game is striking fear into many opponents. Keep Merka from going off to the races and we win this one easily.

Octfeb -  "uummm isn't that the same thing? An extra point and a filed goal?"

WhatHappened - "No. an extra point is a kicked ball from the two yard line in the middle of the field. a field goal is a kicked ball from the side hashes from any yard line on the field you smart a$$"

This is what happens with the written word sometimes. Something got lost along the way. Octfeb (nice lady  ;D) asks a legit question in a polite manner. WhatHappened (freshman who doesn't know Octfeb) takes it as an insult. Tragically wrong. Without seeing the person you're talking to and being able to hear the voice and inflection, a miscommunication occurs. From now on, we should all just meet in my barn every night and talk face-to-face so this doesn't happen again. See you at 7. :D
Hey Hawkeye, seems like whathappened doesn't have no cooth at all. shows the upbringing he went through.

I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. But the longer he waits to make amends makes it worse. Even if it was a miscommunication, you still shouldn't be throwing insults around on here.
