I was wrong in my scoring about Dayton vs Fort Bend Elkins. With that out of the way! Here is my prediction.
Dayton-35
Angleton-26
That is the bottm line because "Hardcore" said so.

Wow, what a flip-flop! I've got a feeling you might catch a little flack when the rest of the Dayton posters wake up. -

Don't change nothin,1 minor mistake it's 6 and we've been doing it pretty good for awhile. If I did anything I'd throw more screen passes to XB.At the end when FB came w/the hard rush we had em set up for it.I'd like to see AH get rid of the ball when in trouble, something he has to learn to do.I have been most impressed by our soph.center.1st game I've never seen a program being sold or much of anything else.Gotta check the sch.and see who I want to go see next week.

Crosby PNG sounds like it might be a good one. -
The Elkins O line was rather LARGE!!! I haven't seen that much beef on the line of scrimmage since the Lake Travis game. They were good too! They handled our front three pretty well, but they had no answer for our linebackers. Dayton still got a lot of penetration throughout the entire game. Problem was, the Ft. Bend passing game was short and quick. Their QB did an excellant job of getting rid of the ball just in the nick of time.
I think the Bronco defense is gonna be fantastic this year. The offense however, still needs some fine tuning. I think a little more north/south passing, instead of side to side, might be in order. I realize the Dayton offense is a high percentage play type offense, but when your playing these quick defenses go at them instead of around them. Just my opinion.
All in all there were a lot more positives than negatives. The Broncos will do well this year. -
I think it's safe to assume that, pretty much everyone on here feels the same way! ;D
-
The only way I could watch another team (other than the Broncos) on opening night is if......well I guess there is no way. Next week is open for Dayton so maybe I''ll check out the cougars then.
-
31 - 14 Brenham. Good luck to the Cubs this year. May we meet again!
-
5-A Shmive-A. It don't matter. That nasty bronco defense is gonna show em` what's up! Broncos 24-7!

Cheaters never win! Oh wait.....in this case they do. In fact they win a lot!
All he has to do is do what the kid they call "transfer" from Hj is doing. If he's elgible to play at his 3rd school in 3 years, then why punish this kid. Plz give this kid parents HJ's number ;D ;D ;D
Whats starting to scare me is there are about 3 posts on this page saying what the kid/parents should have done to make it "okay". I wonder why the kid didn't just play in his hometown of Choctaw? By the way, you can see where the kid gets his arm from, the Dad put some zip on that bag of ice! OUCH! -
I heard he's "moving" to Southlake Carrol. ;)

Fowler will definitely be the go-to-guy. And having a nice running game too, will only make him more dangerous. I'm excited about this bunch too! Friday can't get here soon enough.
-
I know Sante Fe lost some good players to the cap and gown, but they made some noise last year and the attitude will carryover. BH will still be honing the flexbone.
Sante Fe 24
BH 13 -
Won't even be close!
-
Wow! Ask and receive! 8)
-
Just glancing at the Houston Chronicle stats: they were 8 - 3 last year and lost in the first round to Clear Springs. Looks like they mix it up pretty well (if it's the same offense this year) between the run and pass. 2100 pass yds. & 1700 on the ground. QB is back as a junior. Their enrollment numbers look to be close to Daytons. Don't really know anything else about them.

Back up & running after 2 days.T-storm took out modem. For both scrimmages G.Fowler was out w/a tweeked foot.Don't know about #9's injury but the pair of wr's acct.for over 1,000 yds as soph.Herrera has more zip on the ball this year.Ned looked great in the 1st half defensively but looked winded the second half.More games under center in game situations will help the Bulldog qb.In a real game situation where kicks, punts and field position come into play now there's will Dayton's team speed puts up more points.Between Baldwin/Delasbour in the open field not many can run them down.Good luck to Ned on it's season, they'll be ok as they're well coached.

You might wanna reset that modem one more time liltex. It seems the thunderstorm has knocked out your spacebar as well! J/K don't get mad. -

When I was in college (holy shat tyrone went to college) I ran cable for the Austin Westlake football tv show. They had an actual tv crew, sideline reporters, halftime show, and 5-6 cameras covering game. The boosters/parents paid for the production and purchased airtime on public access cable channels to broadcast the game twice over the weekend. Top notch production value, I know that area has a little more to work with fiscally, but it was definitely big time.
Sounds like our booster club needs to throw a few hundred more cook-offs then! Thanks Tyrone, for making me more optimistic bout` the whole thing! -
I wasn't expecting or even thinking about Houston television stations covering the game. I'm just talking about somebody video taping the game from the pressbox. Like I said...just asking. Probably a long shot.
-
Has anyone heard anything about Dayton ever getting some game video coverage? I'm not talking about a live broadcast or anything crazy like that. Just game video that can viewed by the general public online somewhere. No offense to you Purple4Ever, but I mean the whole game, not just highlights. Seems like that would have happened by now. Just asking. Wonder what it would take?

Both teams looked out of sync.
Neds best DB had an early exit due to a lower leg injury.
Forney (sp),Ned QB, looked very tentative and was very inaccurate. Moved like a 90 yr old man. Left a lot to be desired.
Dayton QB and RB are legit. QB gets better and better. #1 runs hard esp after contact.
I'm still confident GCM holds Dayton to 20. They do not have all the "bullets" they have had the previous 2 seasons.
Best kicker in SE Texas plays for the Broncos. He gives Dayton the edge in ANY close game.
There were two "bullets" that were not in the game (from what I read earlier), the two best recievers. Fowler will make a lot of noise this year. -
How did the Dayton secondary look?
A beat down is what happened a couple of years ago when these two teams played in Nederland. This is a scrimmage. Are you sure no subs yet? -
ned pass 10 and 1st
ned run no gain
ned pass misses wr
ned pass overthrown 2 wrs
ned punt

WOW thought nederland was supposed to get beat down here???????
I wonder who said that? Someone from another town maybe.
Looks like Dayton is whipping up a beat down...I think that the person from Nederland will be wrong.
Not too excited about a scrimmage performance, but I'm glad to see they finally started moving the ball a little better. I wouldn't call this a beat down either. Sounds like both teams still have work to do.
