    Right - after 6 straight wins we backed out!! We were supposed to get beat down the last 3 years. But Dayton does not play well early in the year, so we decided to play Angleton. No fella - the schedules changed because of redistricting. If we were running from a fight, you think we would have scheduled Angleton?? They are better than Dayton this year I think.

    Soooooooooo... FW has a sure win against WOS based on how we played in a first scrimmage against Dayton... but Angleton is better than Dayton after getting their teeth kicked in last week by a 3A West Columbia that went 3-7 or 2-8 last year... Hmmmmmm ??? ::) :-\

    You clearly are not paying attention to my posts. Did I say anything about a sure win?? Did I draw any conclusions from your terrible showing vs Dayton? Do I think Angleton is not any good because they had a subpar showing in their first scrimmage. NO. What I did say is that Angleton is better than Dayton, and we are not running from Dayton. Can you get that? Yes I do think we will beat WOS, team that is supposed to have good speed, very little size and depth. We are a very athletic, strong, fast and disciplined team with good size and depth. Can you stay with me there Gasilla, I know I threw a lot at ya!


    PS - I had not ready anything about the Angleton vs West Columbia scrimmage, so I went looking. There is a big difference between these two descriptions -1.  Angleton did not play well during the controlled scrimmage where WC kept them from scoring much if any. WC did not score any. In the timed scrimmage - Angleton dominated. 2. Angelton got their teeth kicked in.

    What I interpreted from the sports reporters that were there, Angelton was very flat, WC was pumped and it was a draw. Once Angleton got fired up, they took it to them as expected. Do your homework Gasilla! PS by all accounts I have read Dayton dominated WOS and WOS dominated poor Vidor. So - using your logic WOS will win the state title!!

    This is from another website and is the bare bones about that scrimmage. Yes that looks pretty much like they were handled pretty good by a 3A team that wasn't very good last year. As for all the other excuses you are posting about that scrimmage, I'm not gonna address because it is obviously full of homerism from some homer writer, [b]if [/b] what you said is even true.

    You have predicted your team to win and you argue about us having more speed, but at the same time assume you are correct about FW being bigger, more discipline, athletic and having more depth... You have not come right out and posted a sure win, but you defnitely insinuate it by your demeanor. Are you able to grasp that? I know that's throwing a lot at you? OK I will spell it out for you because you are one of those who can't recognize your own arrogance... You did not say directly that you are bigger, stronger, as fast and more discipline, but if you mention those things, and feel pretty confident that you are going to win (which you have posted previously) then you must feel that you do have us beat in those areas, right?     No, I don't get that, I understand not running from Dayton, but I don't get you repeatedly mentioning how good Angleton is and even saying they are better than Dayton, when you have nothing to base that on other than to try and prove your argument. Dayton went to the Semi's in 07, Final's in 08 and the Regional finals in 09. What has Angleton done other than perform poorly against a subpar 3A so far?

  12. WOS vs Dayton scrimmage updates

    Great to be back on here for football season! Broncos looked pretty stout for the first scrimmage. The offensive line started a little slow, they had some problems running those inside counter plays at first but they seemed to work that out within the first 3 or 4 possesions. The pass blocking was perfection to watch.

    The only weakness on defense i saw was the secondary. WOS receivers got behind them on several occasions and they don't have a lot of size, which may haunt them down the road. (Brenham has large wideouts!) But hey....it's early. Let's go BRONCOS!!

    Oh and Dude......that Ricky video was not cool man. Don't do that to me ever again!

    Tivy is a very good football team. Not sure how this years team compares to last, but they were very good last year with Manziel a year younger. A very good offense with big play ability. They mix it up really well. Actually, both offenses are similar. They play some 5A teams early in their schedule so don't read too much into the 4 losses.

    As far as the trash talking, most of that was done by a couple of over zealous fans that got on here. I honestly don't believe they represent the whole town of Kerrville. I seem to remember more bad mouthing after the game on this forum than before. That's when the "stealing and thugs" type comments came out referring to A. J.'s strip of a receiver. It must have been a bitter loss for them to take because of that play and the winning field goal, but there was no excuse for those (few) fans to act like that.

    Fitting we should lose on a fumble. That was our nemesis all year. Broncos had the game wrapped up but it wasn't meant to be. That's the way that pigskin bounces I guess.

    Congrats to Brenham on a great come from behind win. Good luck the rest of the way. As I've said before, Brenham's team and fans are a class act. Great game played hard by both sides.

    Way to go Broncos!!! Another great season. Y'all definitely left in on the field last night. I'm proud to be a Dayton Bronco fan! See ya next year.

    Carranco has connected on a 40 yard plus field goal this year.

    It might just very well come down to a lot of field goals, if think it will be hard to punch the ball in on both defenses inside the redzone.

    Time for my "not so fearless" prediction. Brenham is no doubt a quality football team. I saw the PNG game and was impressed with their offense. They run a lot of different plays from several formations. Very disciplined group with talent at the skill positions. They use the running back out of the backfield as a receiver effectively. Schlottmann is a very capable QB who can also run well. We all know about their star receivers. Much respect goes out to the Brenham team and the fans. As I've said before on another thread, you won't find a classier bunch.

    However, I believe the Bronco defense will be the stars of this game. This is the best Bronco defense in the last three seasons. As good as the front 3 have been, they won't be the major factors in this one. #2, #14, #5, and #25 (the secondary) will have their turn to shine. They won't have to be just run support from here on out. The linebacking core will also play a major role on all those short passes and QB scrambles that will be such a large part of this game. Look for #12 to have a game to tell the grandkids about! This Bronco defense is gonna be so ready to play. It's gonna be fun to watch.

    The Bronco offense + the freshman phenom, will put more than enough points on the board to move on to the rematch with Kerrville Tivy. (God I hope that idiot poster Tivy74 or whatever his name was is long gone.) Broncos pull this one out 24 - 17!

    I saw the replay of that call last night on High School Scoreboard. Even R. Mcelvoy said it was an interception. Every team can complain about a bad call here or there, but that one erased a great defensive play and gave them points. But hey, the Broncos played well enough to survive.

    Wow! What a game! Congrats go out to the Broncos. Defense started a little slow but dominated the rest of the way. Great adjustments and a great effort. I guess somebody forgot to tell this [b][u]team[/u][/b] they're not supposed to go this far!

    Let me give a shout out to the fans as well. Great crowd tonight. That was a 7000 seat visitor side. Had to be 6000 there. This team deserves the support!
