Fire that defense up.  That front three is absolutely key to the defense and they've played their butts off this year.
I couldn't agree more the front 3 plus N.L. on 3 rd down is definetly the stregnth of the Bronco Defense. Great year so far.

No doubt about it. The defense has been stellar! But actually I think the key to this game will be El Campo's defense. How good are they? Have they really been tested yet? Can they handle a good spread? The Bronco D will keep it reasonable. I see them scoring 14 or maybe 21. The question is, can they slow down Ploch, Franks, Fowler and company? Answers tonight at 7!

I thought the offense looked pretty potent tonight.

you're dang right they did...X Franks riding #66 to 200+ yards...that O Line made it happen
I've been saying all year that this O line is one of the best I've seen. Untill recently the rest of the offense has stalled from time to time. Looks the whole offense is firing on all cylinders now! Amazing blocking clinic in the Waller game, by not just the O line, but the receivers as well.
  3. I was at the game as a neutral observer. I sat on the Brenham side simply because it was easier. None of the shenanigans that have been claimed on here happened. No punches, no showboating, nothing except good football. The Brenham team and fans are the classiest bunch I have ever seen at a high school game. You would think those people were from Mayberry RFD! I'm sure the vast majority of the PNG fans realize this. Not only did the Brenham team on the field take a knee when a PNG player was injured, but the rest of the 60 players on the sideline took a knee as well. The band did stop playing and most of the conversation in the stands stopped also!

As far as the dance on the kickoffs goes, that's just kid stuff. No different than when I played 25 years ago and we hit our pads and clapped in time before the kickoff for intimidation. Waller did the same thing to us(Dayton) last night.

I had the unexpected pleasure of eating dinner with the Brenham team last year after the Broncos knocked them out of the playoffs. I'm telling you these people are from niceville USA. All the kids had green dinner jackets on. With neckties! Who does that anymore? My friend and I are sitting there with our Bronco purple on, and virtually every member of the team and coaching staff stopped by to congratulate us on a well played game. We were just fans! I was very impressed to say the least. I don't know what they put in that ice cream, but it ain't spite!

Oh and the refs weren't that bad. The one interference call everyone is so hung up on was a good no call. The ball was 15 yards overthrown. No player had a chance at the ball. A missed holding here or there....that happens every game. Believe me, the refs were 10x better than the ones at the Dayton game last night.

As far as I could tell, there was good sportsmanship for the most part on both sides. In every big game the team that's behind usually has a kid or two that might get frustrated and let their emotions get the best of them. Just football folks.
  4. Sorry for rambling on but I could talk about the Broncos all day. I just had to follow up and give a shout out to the purple-people-eating defense. They have been dominating as predicited this year. A little slow start, but they are definitely playing up to potential now. Even the pass covearge has finally improved. ;) ;) Just jabbin at ya Texans. Keep up the good work. It shows.
  5. Working days this weekend so I can't make the Crosby game but will definitely be there in time for the stampede! Seriously considering Friday night at Thorne but the weather looks a little scary. Sure would be fun to watch that one too though.

Bout` dem Broncos.....I hope we see our offense show up for four quarters this week. Not raggin on them though, all year long they have got the job done for the most part. Other than the fluke in Crosby, they have put up comparable numbers to last years team. And that's sayin something! I can't put my finger on it but somehow they have just looked out of sync at times this year. But then you look at the scoreboard and there's 30+ points on it! Crazy.

I remember 2 years ago when Cody went down, the offense looked out of sync for a while then too. They kept winning though, and by the end of the year they were a scoring machine! Does anyone remember the game at Nederland? I personally have never witnessed a more impressive offensive performance by a high school team. And Nederland was not a bad team that year.

This years team has just as much offensive talent (collectively) IMO. Fowler, Franks, Ploch, Baldwin, Goss among others. And they're all playing behind an offensive line that is as good, if not better, than any they have put on the field the last few years. The key seems to be riding on soph QB, Herrera. If he continues to improve the way he has, this team could go a long way.

Anyway, the point to all this is that Stewart, Nations and the gang, have proven time and time again that they can overcome obstacles and correct imperfections. They keep tinkering with the line up and just may come up with a combination that keeps on winning.

FriendswoodFan I'd bet your own team doesn't like you, are you truely that misearable all the time? Where did you play high school ball, what college and pro team did you play for to have such wisdom?

Is it that hard to acknowledge a group of 16-17 year old kids that have learned a totally new offensive and defensive scheme in 7 months which are 180 degrees from what they have been doing since 8th grade with almost all new coaches and have an 11-0 record?

Do our fans go overboard? Sure they do, I would hope all schools fans would do the same. Why is bringing up the past so bad, we have been fortunate to have a great past, present and future. Any one who is a true fan of high school sports knows of PNG's passion and I bet a lot wish they had that kind of support. I hate looking at another side an seeing no one supporting their kids.

All areas/districts have their traditions and great histories why hate ours so much. Ask they stadiums that we fill up when we travel how much they hate our $$$$ we bring them. Smack talk is fine but dang you have some kind of anger that just doesn't make sense towards a school and it's fans.

It's a shame to see a good program like Friendswood represented by you! I sure hope things turn around for you. Good luck to your team!

Don't waste your time on that idiot. When I read one his posts it reminds me of the old saying....."They come on big when their feeling small". He's definitely overcompensating for something.

Dayton will be the visitors  :D :D
AGAIN

Being the visitor doesn't bother me unless the stadium is small. There were a couple we played in the last two years that barely held the Dayton fan base.

Speaking of which, where was the crowd Saturday night? I was working that night (first game I missed in a long while) but I saw some video and it looked like maybe 1500 Dayton fans. Was it because of the location (Huntsville)? Maybe deer season I guess.

Well Im back...after last night when Dayton was talkin noise about PNG and Central struggling against the #3 and #4 teams from 19 4A...NOW...the #1 team in 19 4A gives up 29 points to a team decimated by injuries from district 20-4A?  COME ON MAN???  Great job Nederland and this Indian Fan was pulling for yall! Nothing against Crosby...but the Dayton Fans feel like they are going back to state...and they loss 28-0 to Crosby?   0 points to Crosby?  PNG scored 37 against Crosby...Nederland just scored 29 against Crosby...Dayton scored 0...against Crosby?  someone help me with the math?  Vidor will roll Dayton tonight!!
