  1. Hmmm.....BYOA and then walk across state hwy 146? Watch your step there ROLLINAC! But I'll admit it does sound fun if you could pull it off. I called the principle (waiting on a call back). Maybe we could combine the two (pep-rally & tailgate party) minus the alcohol of course. But keep on planning your thing in case the school doesn't get on board. I'll post when I hear back from her.

My daughter is a stepper and I'll see if they can stop by and throw down one of their pep-rally routines.

  2. Let's face it- Bronco fans are spoiled. We expect the offense to score 50-60 points every game and we expect the defense to pitch a shutout.

Livingston knew what they had to do to win and they almost did it. They just didn't have quite enough horsepower at the end of the game to pull it off. They deserve a lot of credit.

To that small group of Dayton fans who find it necessary to sing that silly "NA NA NA NA, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" song when the game is in hand, you need to realize that the team we just played is composed of teenaged boys just like the ones on our team. They came out and played to the best of their ability and deserve way more respect than you are giving them. They also have mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc. who want to see them win just as much as we want to see our team win. You can be happy for your team without showing disrespect for the other team.

Amen on that 72. I was sitting right above that group of idiots and wanted to cover my face in embarrasment. There's always a few in the crowd now aint there.

  3. :-[ Dayton don't have team spirit like  Nederland and PNG, livingston some times fan yell and some time not  they need to get noise makers, like cow bells and cans with rocks to make some noise. the players like that .  tailgate would be nice ,  but last home game i showed up at WWJ  no one was there ,what kind of team spirit is that. the Athletic Booster club don't care about the BRONCOS they care about who they can impress. Mike George did last tailgate at Galena Park.   :-\

Yea we were there at WWJH that last week of the reg. season also. We put our little set-up out but no one else showed. Felt a little silly actually. So we closed up around 5. We wrote it off to being deer season and Friday.

Hey Knightrider I'm with ya man!!! I think they should move the normal school pep-rally to the WWJH parking lot for the fans. Have you ever been to a Bronco pep-rally? They get that gym-a-rockin! That lady that mc's it (can't remember her name) she does a great job. I've supported these broncos for a long time as well, along with hundreds if not thousands of other fans. It would really be nice to see the school show a little appreciation for the fans...like a Pep-Rally/Tailgate Party. I mean, how many chances do you get at a 2nd round home game?

I had envisioned a big party in that parking lot because it is next to the stadium. The Bronco band, players, cheerleaders, STEPPERS (cause my daughters one) and so forth. And if the Booster club is so worried about losing a few bucks off Turkey legs, then leave the food out! But it would be nice to see someone saying hey, thanks Bronco fans for showing up in droves they way you do.

  4. Yea I can see the consistant numbers, but each team is different. For instance, imo last years team in the last few weeks of the season, had a little more offensive precision. This years team still gets it done...just a little differently. And although the 08 broncos defense has improved steadily, last years defense was just plain nasty >:(. I aint downin this team or that team. Those kids (and the coaches) work hard and it shows. Hey.....it's 4 days till gametime. I just wanted something to talk about till then!! ;D

  5. I've always wondered about high school scouting as far as, how much of it they do. I know they scout the local district games pretty hard, but in the playoffs with all the scenarios, I would think their resources would be taxed quite a bit. Again though, I know absolutely nothing about coaching. I just act like one on Saturday mornings. ;D

  6. Well I've exhausted every resource I know of to try and research this Elgin team. Google, You-tube, UIL, newspapers, etc. I can find nothing that makes me think Elgin can win this football game. All I could find out is that the "G" in Elgin is pronounced (ga... as in "again") Makes me wonder how the coaches prepare for a game like this. Maybe they have some inside info.

But your right lsutiger, we shouldn't underestimate them or any other team. I personally think it's kind of exciting facing a team we don't know much about. They could roll into Big D and knock our socks off!!! But I seriously doubt it.

    The stampede will continue........Dayton by 4 TD's ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

  7. I am just happy its not my senior year I hope my class of 2010 can go 4+ playoff games ... I also was disapointed in the support this year I understand last year was a first time ever deal but the fans should have done better thi year in my opinion but still the team played well last night and I think god or mother nature was mad we lost lol due to the end of games sprinkles + lights dimming + Gusty winds that didnt truly happen till 3rd quarter !

I'm not sure if your a player or a student or band member or whatever, and it really doesn't matter. I'm a Dayton fan who was at the game last night and I have to tell you, support doesn't get much better than it was last night. That's the first Lumberton game I've attended this year, so not sure how the reg. season was, but last night I thought the Lumberton fans were awesome. Pretty classy the way everyone stayed till the last tick of the clock. You should be proud.

  8. Nice win Cougars. Congrats Raiders on a good season. Crosby did a good job against the run, their LB's stepped up. It looked like Lumberton was having some decent success with the pass in the first half, not sure why they got away from it in the second. Anyway, nice game to both teams.

I want to say this though. That was the best crowd (L-train) I have seen at a hs game in a long time. I'm a die hard Bronco fan (who was on the Raider's side btw) and I thought the crowd was great. Y'all had a lot longer drive, and 3x as many people show. There was no booing or crying at the refs, just good clean noise. My hats off to the Lumberton community. That my friends, is how you support your local high school team. Good luck next year!

  9. SPEED KILLS Livingston has way to much speed. Dayton will never match up with the Lions Speed!  ;D

It had to be said you know you were all thinking it! ::)

Actually no, not really thinking about speed. If anything, it would be size. Haven't seen the Lions this year, but the one thing I remember from last years game (other than the final score  ;D) was that Livingston had some big ol' country boys. Course, the Bronco fans have learned long ago not to judge a team by size, as just about every team we play out weighs us by a ton or two.
