  1. For clarification: schools run a background check from the DPS database. If that comes back "clear", the school check references. Former employers are only technically allowed to provide 1. dates of employment 2. eligible for rehire yes/no 3. they may also provide safety info for DOT sensitive positions. Anything beyond the above listed information can expose the former employer to legal trouble. If they reveal unsubstantiated or unverified rumor type information that prevents a former employee from being hired, they can be subject to lawsuits.
  2. A kid growing up and playing sports in Shepherd is typically not considered “Coldspring best players moving to Shepherd” just because the parents are from Coldspring. There is not a school in the state where many parents grew up somewhere else. There are currently no players in Shepherd that were formerly one of “Coldspring best players”. Coldspring does/has had difference makers walking the halls who do not play sports.
  3. That is not "Coldspring best players" moving to Shepherd. Plenty of former families from Shepherd in Coldspring as well. As far as recent players go, there are more examples of Shepherd players moving to Coldspring.
  4. I am unaware of any "best Coldspring players" at Shepherd right now.
  5. Which one is "going to Shepherd"?
  6. I doubt the HC was even consulted about "cutting him". He wasn't going to have any say in this one.
  7. He "didn't think twice about cutting him" once he was arrested for "sexual assault of a child". Very noble indeed.
  8. Probably be a while before he sets foot in public.
  9. Definitely part of it
  10. I believe the replacement decision has already been made.
  11. Will be a tough road for the foreseeable future.
  12. District in the red, pending TEA takeover, no talent, poor facilities.
  13. LP just made a steal by hiring Cirillo Ojeda. Great coach and will be bringing an All District Center with him.
  14. Your ridiculous comments. Huntington is actually the better team. Their kids made the plays. That's it. It is not the fault of OF coaches. It is baseball. Great season for OF.
  15. I expect it will. Doubt the HC wants to fight the District Attorney and US Congressman. Have to pick your battles.
  16. Maybe. Coldspring will struggle to win a game the next few years. They will benefit from having Tarkington and Kelly on the schedule (similar to WV having Kountze and Warren on the schedule).
  17. If WV continues to sink it is because the little league coaches failed to supply the high school with sufficient talent to win. Might be time to get some new coaches in the little league.
  18. How do you know? Do you have information on the coaches who switch jobs that do not have kids that play? Coaching is a volatile business where you can be fired as soon as the right local gets offended. Coaches should do whatever they feel is best for them and their families. **I once saw a coach take his team to a state championship game for the first time in school history only to have community turn on him and question his coaching ability. He promptly left for greener pastures. There are two kinds of coaches: coaches who have "been fired" and coaches who will "be fired".
  19. Chavis McCollister from Tenaha.
  20. Josh Allen is a good example.
  21. OL particularly receive offers based upon “size” and nothing else.
  22. Has happened both ways. Many people would rate Chavis McCollister among the greatest high school players of all time. Yet, he received little to no college interest.
  23. Ok, I will do that.
  24. Thanks for the illuminating response. I have just had an epiphany. From this point forward I will no longer utilize the word “pathetic”. I will now utilize: “completely incompetent on a football field”.
