And West Fork will opt up if they fall short.

The crazy growth around Hwy 59/I-69 corridor

Tarkington has already blockaded Colony Ridge. Other districts will not annex and receive someone else’s problems. They have discussed home rule for Plum Grove -

Locals meaning “non-Colony Ridge” residents. Particularly the power brokers who wield political influence. Bonds have been attempted on a regular basis including last year. They fail by a large margin. Colony Ridge is the largest migrant community in the United States. Cleveland dynamics/situation are unprecedented in the state. -

That is correct. The locals do not want to do anything to help Colony Ridge residents or its developer. The belief is “the more difficult they make the situation, it will discourage continued development”. -

It is not going to "property taxes" which pays for school funding. The majority of the population is undocumented and does not participate in voting. The local power brokers will not allow a bond to pass because they do not want to accommodate "Colony Ridge/Terrenos Houston". The only hope is that the district may split someday with home rule going to Colony Ridge. -

Coldspring has not grown any. Shepherd will drop back to 3A at the next alignment after the current Senior and Junior class graduate. Tarkington has also lost numbers. Cleveland has lost numbers as well. Splendora is the only one growing at the moment. -
They do not.
-
Shepherd has a drastically different team than what was seen last year including two RBs and their FB. Shepherd OL is significantly upgraded as well. They may not win the games but I wouldn’t put much stock in what was seen last year.
-
You are correct. Hardin is right on the edge. If HJ and Liberty stay down it could push Shepherd north or southwest. Crockett is also likely to drop as well which would likely remove AS, Trinity and NW.
-
I dont believe that it is settled on HJ and especially Liberty, opting up again. Dont know much about BC. I honestly see no way for Tarkington to remain up.
-
They are likely to drop. Their enrollment is down significantly from last realignment (well below the last cut line).

Running clock in the 2nd QTR.

Has several D1 offers. Made 1st All District at 2 positions his sophomore year (unanimous at both and beat out Armstrong last year). Also was Offensive MVP of the district in basketball as a sophomore year. 310 lbs and dunking basketballs. Maybe someone else is a better athlete but he is on the short list. I can tell you flat out that there is no DL/OL type in the district on his level.

Shepherd has a great offense running the double wing (same as Hardin) and the what may be the best skill player unit in recent memory. Shepherd will also field the single best athlete in the district (Braeden White). Shepherd will have a 1-2 punch from TE and FB in the double wing that will be a tough matchup against any team in the district. The same 2 TEs and FB will also anchor what may be the best DL in the district. Don’t know if it will be enough to beat a team like WOS but they are going to be a tough out for any of the big 4. Will not be surprised if they pick off a couple of them. Also, 18 starters are JRs.

Hamshire-Fannett (20) @ Silsbee (41) - FINAL

WOS has a game next week also. -
I don’t think anyone is unbeatable. Most of the region leaders from last year are down having lost many key players. Hitchcock included.
-
Definitely will tell us something. Be shocked if Crockett offense does not run well. However, don't know if Crockett defense will be up to the challenge. **Also will not be shocked if there is an "upset".
-
Crockett just started the double wing this year. They might have the best RB in the district. All their players are getting used to the system which is drastically different than what they have done in the past.
-
Crockett will pose a problem for everyone. Running the exact same offense as Hardin and Shepherd and getting better every week.
-
I am not overly familiar with Teague and Fairfield. I believe WW to be a tick off what they were last year (but not much). The question in this one is "how is Crockett going to fair in district"? I suspect Crockett will get one of the 4 spots. Diboll is down from last year but showed some life against Shepherd. Lets go: WW/Fairfield 1 or 2 in some order. Crockett, Teague, Diboll for the last two spots.

Understood. The current group that are JRs are the "ONLY" time in my entire life where I saw a 4A program unable to field a 7th grade team. 7th grade teams are typically over running and have to be shrank to a number where they can be coached. During that same season, our 7th grade was forced to play the Jasper 8th grade (who are now SRs) and beat them. We knew at that time that Jasper would be in dire straits in the future. We always wondered if they would pull some kids out of the halls and become "Jasper" again, but it does not appear that has happened.

The talent level went down from 2023.
-
Grades are counted for eligibility at 6 weeks for all schools at the beginning of the year and then again at 9 weeks (for those on 9 week grading systems). They could go ineligible at 6 weeks and then come back at 9 weeks or also go ineligible at 9 weeks as well.
-
Duly noted. We have you on the record. Historically, you have been right about next to nothing. We will see how this one goes. You have a lot riding on WV failing. If WV were to win it would start looking like the coaches know more than you do about the players on the team and coaching in general.

Depending on when Silsbee started school it could be grades.
