I guess Rusk has a similar defense to Center? Though, Center does have the top QB in the district.
-
Yes, least athletic OL in the district. QB and WRs carry the team. Will be held 2-3 plays and torch you on the 3rd or 4th play. It is difficult to hold them four plays in a row, though teams like Jasper are better equipped to do so than others.
-
Why dont you write a paragraph using "run on" sentences with "incoherent" vocabulary? The HH coaches could then be enlightened.

Might have to rescind my prediction. -
Interesting to see on this one. I expect Jasper to get on track.

Agreed. That was my point. SA was undefeated and ran every team they played straight off the field. A 1 point margin of victory over SA would be impressive.

Next thing I will tell you is "consult with the UIL". Myself, the UIL record books and EVERY single authority on Earth do not count 6-Man football as the same sports as 11 man football. The only folks count 6 man football as the same sport as 11 man football are those on SETX forum who would like to catch 89Falcon in a mistake.
-
You can argue with the UIL record book. Richland Springs is not included in the record book. They do not play the same sport as Aledo.
-
Looks like you are on top of things. Was quoting "NHSBulldogFan" who stated previously that he was "not impressed" with the Refugio victory over San Augustine. Just illustrating his ridiculous statement.
-
"Winning" but "not very impressive". Just a mediocre "State Champion".
-
Do we include "flag football" also? There are some strong flag programs in the state.
-
I did not see Richland Springs on the list in the record book with Aledo, Carroll, Katy and Celina. Do they play the same sport?
-
Agreed. However, there is no school in the state (perhaps in all-time history of the state) that can match Aledo's recent run. Aledo though not financially challenged, does not have the most resources in the state. There may be a handful of teams that we generally expect to be in the mix for a title on yearly basis. There will be an additional 100+ schools in the state that have similar resources but fall drastically short on results. We may be able to identify a trend among the "perceived contenders" but to make a conclusion we would have to consider the success ratio of all schools in a similar resource bracket. If all similar resourced districts are considered we will likely not see a quantifiable difference in outcomes. We could actually look at some of the larger multiple school ISDs (Katy, Conroe, Plano, Klein, etc) with some of the "contenders" and find several high schools within that possess the exact same resources but never exceed mediocrity.

At least I am not "kicking the little guy when he is down" this time.

Yes, 11-2 is a good season for most teams. BH has shown themselves capable of making the playoffs frequently over the years (as have many schools in Texas). Many in this forum (and on this post) have indicated that the key to "championship success" is financial resources. BH with greater financial resources than nearly all schools in Texas, has not been able to make the conversion.
-
And in the case of BH, nothing is built in many decades. Though they have always had the greatest financial resources of any school in the region.
-
Even with a "multi-time State Champion coach" and still cant win anything.
-
Agreed. Undefeated Refugio just beat an undefeated SA team that has scored 40+ in every game this year. Advancing to the State Championship game in a very mediocre fashion. Any decent State Champion would never play a close game against a scrub like SA.

"Downtrodden" is not the key factor that initiates the target. "Delusional" statements are the trigger. -

I focus on the teams of which I have enough familiarity to speak accurately who tend to drift into delusion. -

Precisely. Most small town schools in East Texas have dealt with this phenomena. There are very few that have current enrollments on par with enrollments 10-20 years ago. Some have maintained their competitive edge (SA, Newton, WOS) while others such as "HD" have not been competitive and rely upon "enrollment" and "economics" as a primary excuse for failure that existed prior to the recent socio-economic decline. -

Actually for the past several decades, they were not supposed to make runs, only compete with WH, DV, Burkeville, and Sabine Pass. This is also the forecast for the next several decades. Under certain circumstances and with "masterclass" coaching they may be able defeat all of said bottom feeders on a given year. With a little help from UIL they may be able to recreate a district comprised of the bottom feeders and in such a case they may be able to "make the playoffs" and take a beating in the first round.
