Hull-Daisetta Bobcat Football Coaching Staff
89Falcon replied to JohnRuthDomergue's topic in High School Football
HD won "one" district game last year as opposed to "none" this year. HD "power" potential extends no farther than Sabine Pass, WH, Burkeville, etc. HD will compete nowhere beyond the local bottom feeder circuit regardless of classification. This has not changed in the past several decades. In regards to the coaching, HD should count themselves fortunate that they have a warm body to place in the position. Should Bill Belichick take the position, HD would see no quantifiable change in results. -
Need to get a little further North and I might attend my first game in 30 years.

100% accurate.

This is a great example of the fallacy allowing teams such as West Hardin in the playoffs in the current "every kid gets a trophy" playoff structure. They are not playoff caliber and then when they are run off the field, they cry about the "true" playoff caliber team running up the score. It is likely that the Mart 8th grade team would have hung 40 on WH.
-
I agree with your prediction. DV in the playoffs is an abomination to the integrity of the playoff structure. Harelton, as most playoff caliber programs will be able to name their score against DV.
-
I would have to say the most disappointing team would be Hull Daisetta. After they beat Burkeville, I felt they were certain to make a deep playoff run.
-
Based upon historical/ongoing precedence at WH, one would assume that the clock runs on a regular basis. Low end performers such as WH must seek alternate means of "score control" when talent shortcomings are en-vogue.
-
Where is Colmesneil when you need them?
-
Looks like this was a "quit job" by DV. Blows our theory about DV showing up every week. I am sure they will be ready for San Augustine next week.
-
Have to go with DV in this one but would not be shocked to see HD squeeze out a win against their long time rival in mediocrity. Waiting for "Red Jolly Roger" to weigh in for the official analysis.
-
WH has exceeded expectations this year by winning three games against top flight competition. Equally impressive is that WH was actually able to dig up such a wide array of schools for the schedule that most never knew existed. If WH can keep up the momentum they may very well end up with 4 wins.
-
LOL. Cant wait to see them in the playoffs.
-
Colmesneil coach should be very enthusiastic about facing a school with similar "slowness". When coaching a school such as Colmesneil, one must take full advantage of opportunities against schools such as WH. Many schools have lineman who are faster than the Colmesneil skill players while WH will not. Should be an intriguing matchup.

No need to over analyze this one. WH showed why they are one of the all-time terrible programs in the state. Obviously 99% of the teams in the state would run WH off the field. And as this proves there is "no" team in the state that cannot give WH a run for their money. Credit to Burkeville for showing they belong in the conversation with WH.
-
Definitely supports your former theory regarding "Pirates". Looks like they played hard in this one.
-
SA relay teams were looking good tonight. Appreciation to SA for not scoring 100.
-
Actually a good showing for DV. Would have expected SV by a larger margin. Perhaps "Red Jolly Roger" is on to something?
-
I appreciate the wishes. Good luck to you winning a district game against someone other than HD.

Give "what" a rest?

Some of my "sports endeavors" have included beatings for DV. Not sure how Huffman is my "home town" when I have not been there in 30 years. Just an operating name for SETX forums.
-
Especially at HD. 15 year olds run "5.5-6.0" 40s, while the 18 year olds push "5.0" 40s.
-
You will need to find something else to bother me. Have not been to Huffman in 30 years. If they go 0-10 or 10-0 it would mean little to me. I have had my own sports endeavors to keep me busy.

I try to keep delusion out of the forum by providing critical reality checks. This is a particularly rampant issue in the low talent corners of SETX such as HD, DV, and the like as they are able to play each other back and forth (perhaps even get a guaranteed win against fodder such as Sabine Pass/ Burkeville) accumulating wins among each other. The next manifestation of said delusion comes in the way of declarative posts how they will "fight", "work hard", "no quit", "hit the in the mouth", "four horsemen", "top RB tandem in the state", etc. In the end they are donkey punched back to the same old malaise with the coaches quitting or catching the first train out. They are actually very fortunate to have me around.
-
You are a true "Pirate Champion" and your nobility is to be commended. Unfortunately, once the district beatings commence there will be no evidence of the qualities and characteristics that you have identified. DV will once again resume its true form as a coaching graveyard/automatic win for opponents.

Will be a warmup track meet for SA. Should provide critical insight into the quality of the sprint relay team for SA in the Spring.
