I agree about WOS. I believe Jasper may have retained a few higher caliber players than what Silsbee has left but I could be wrong.

I suspect the rankings were generated prior to Barrier moving back. Maybe someone who has the new magazine can tell us if they have Barrier listed in Anahuac or Rusk. Anahuac is definitely worthy of being in the top 25.

Surprised Westwood is not in the top 25. They will not be losing to Teague and Diboll in the district. Especially now that the RB transferred from Palestine. I am aware that that the RB moving in is a new development that transpired after the rankings were made. However, WW was the district favorite prior to the RB transferring in.

It is definitely a struggle. However, the single greatest problem with schools today is "parents relinquishing their kid's education to the schools". As aggravating as it is, I can appreciate a parent who attempts to put their kid in the best situation (even though most of them are "ill-informed"). ***Most parents are completely clueless on how their kids act at school and practice.

High school and high school sports only exist for the benefit of kids. Parents are the sole authority for what is best for the kids. The kids will be out of school many more years than they were in school and the parent bears full responsibility for positioning their child for success in life. In the event that a parent perceives that a move is best for their child, the parent owes no one an explanation. Although it can be frustrating for the coaches and team impacted, it is an accepted paradigm of the industry.

Understood. There does not appear to be replacements of the same caliber. Definitely not sufficient to beat Anahuac this coming year.

I believe Anahuac would have been the favorite without the return of Barrier. Anahuac has a pretty good group coming through at the moment. WV should take a step back.

WOS could just issue a statement saying they are changing the name of the defense to “50” from “3-4” and still lineup the same.

Understood, I keep it real. I have stated many times for everyone to read: “the kid looks like he will be a good player in the future” and that “he was one of the best JV players I saw this year”. Do you want me to say he was the best varsity player? Do you want me to say he beat CS JV? CS JV was "world beaters"? I will rely on the judgement of the WV coaches (who had him on JV) and what I witnessed (which was a loss to CS JV). Sorry if that is offensive.

Understood. WV JV was so "above average" that they "lost to CS JV". I only saw him play in one game and he looked like he had the potential to be a very good QB in the future. The WV coaches have seen him every day and they felt like he was a JV player (for whatever reason). He should be on varsity this year. I expect him to make a good showing for himself.

CS JV won a share of the District Championship and beat Woodville (and QB) "head to head" and "on the field". I stated multiple times that the JV was "mediocre at best". However, "mediocre" was good enough to beat Woodville JV. 3A JV is very low level football for high school, second only to "2A JV football".

Yes, they tied for 1st place with Coldspring and he lost head to head with Coldspring. He showed himself to be a JV QB who lost to a CS team with "not one player remotely close to being varsity caliber". You can make all the excuses that you want.
