Those coaches weren't basketball coaches so them only winning 2-3 games a year made since. As far as the 4 players that came over, only one was on varsity and a ranked player with college intrest prior to coming and he wasn't transfering but returning to the district. The other 3 were talented freshman who left BU for academic reasons or homes got damaged in the flood. I know at least two of them are honor society and have academic scholarships. Rideaux helped those 3 develop into all district and one into an all region player. This notion of recruiting needs to stop as it is a lie! Those boys came to HF due to circumstances and decisions outside of basketball! My son returned to HFISD (yes he went to the elementary school he and his brother) purely for academic reasons as he was already being recruited and ranked Texas Top 100. He has a 4.0 and multiple academic scholarships that will go along with his basketball where ever he goes. Stop throwing shade at these kids and their families! These are good kids from good families and don't deserve to have that lie hanging over their heads. My son lost his entire junior and along with it D1 interest because of lies, jealousy, and deceitful tactics from adults in education and administration that are supposed to be all about these kids success and not their own personal vengeance, careers, or a dang basketball record. -

3 straight winning seasons vs 1 in over a decade prior? The entire culture has changed at that school when it comes to basketball. The JV obliterated everyone in that district and for the first time in school history they hired back to back basketball coaches instead of football guys who took a stipend to coach the team. HF if I'm not mistaken is the only school in the district where the basketball coach has to coach football and other sports to make up for salary. That's a big deal when you are going up against coaches who get to focus 100% on basketball. So I'm proud of our guys, no it wasn't the season it could have been, but for my kid he enjoyed coming to HF, going to school with family, and making new friends. He only got to play one year of varsity but proved what he needed as he has multiple offers with more to come to play at the next level. -

48-30 Washington. Horns not playing team ball right now. Way to many missed passes for open shots and easy layups. -

Great game. Orangefield is always a tough team to play and showed a lot of grit tonight. HF played solid team ball and kept their composure everytime Orangefield made a run. Now on to round two vs Booker T -

Next years team in my opinion will be very good. They will be very deep and most of them play together year round. -

HF has a good stable of young players. JV pretty much obliterate their district competition. They will be solid for at least the next few years. They have a few freshman and sophomores that will be area ranked by their senior years -

Please stop believing and making up rumors. My son never played for PA Memorial and this is SETX forum not FB. He came to HF district because that's where his family has graduated from the past 10 years and currently has him, 4 first cousins, and 3 second cousins that attend the district. You have no idea what you are talking about at all. Yes #2 grandfather, my cousin, and I had a talk about something I said and I gave both him and #2 father an apology because that's what grown men do especially when it's family. We have zero problems with each other and it's still all love there. You taking the words of gossip and misunderstandings and using them as facts. I understand you upset about the season and how it went for #4 but I'm not the coach, assistant coach, AD, or an educator at HF high school. Like I said #4 is a good kid and I have no problems with him at all and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. As far as my son, I can speak for him, he feels the same and has no ill feelings towards anyone. He's focused on Tuesday's game versus Orangefield with his teammates and that's all. All I can do is apologize if anything I've said offended you. You could have just asked to speak to me whoever you are and I would have done so. -

#2 and #23 been playing together since elementary and His parents and I are classmates. If not for injury this past summer they would have played all summer together just like #4 did with #23 the previous year at no cost. He got the opportunity to play with the top 2022s from SETX because of #23 and #2 being on that team and advocating for him. He played along side Arceneaux, Sears, Abrams, and others facing multiple D1 prospects including 2 current McDonald's all Americans, one of which is tagged as a pro. Guess who made sure he got to every practice and out of town Tournaments for free? I did! Who took care of him while in Dallas for half a week? I did! So don't come here with the foolishness like I dont know or care about that kid! The same opportunities I afforded my own son, I made available to him and any other kid on that team who wanted it! Another thing Coach Kenebrew is a professional and doesn't have any conversations with me or any parent I know of about anything outside their own kid's play and recruiting. He closed his practices to everyone way at the beginning of December because of foolosh allegations about parents influence. I guess we now know where they came from. The ONLY CONVERSATION he and I have are what colleges coaches are asking of my son and who they are. #4 literally walked off the court in front of TWO COLLEGE COACHES WHO WHERE IN ATTENDANCE! Who's fault is that? I constantly talked and gave advice to #4 whenever he was in the car with us on how he can get recruited and what coaches will look for in him. What happened this season is on him and nobody else. He had the same opportunities as #23. Heck this summer even Sears and the Malbrough brothers from HJ were in my car going to Tournaments and camps with my kid. I don't discriminate nor will I never not help any kid that is in need all they have to do is ask and follow directions. #4 can still come to me and ask for help and I would do whatever I could. Stop with this foolishness and place the accountability on the one who it is supposed to be on. He's a good kid that made a bad decision, it happens and not the end of the world. -

Why are you so upset? I don't even know who you are nor am I the one who brought up the young man leaving the game. I never saw him leave and didn't know until the game was in the 4th that he was gone. We all are accountable for our own actions and decisions life. These are young men who 8 will enter the real world in 3 months. Whatever the kid is going through I hope and pray he finds some resolution and peace. If criticism or the critiquing of play and actions in a basketball game gets a kid and whoever you are upset then there's a long road ahead of you because that's life in general. But do remember it's just a game. Have a bless night, hope you and the young man find peace. -

At this point I don't think its up to Coach K. His teammates were pissed off and under no circumstances do you walk off the bench and out the gym with a whole quarter to play because your coach didn't put you in the game. You can be upset at the coach and the staff, but you don't abandon your team. -

It looked good, had his lip curled and everything 😠just rimmed out. I swear I've never seen so many offensive fouls and flops in one game 😂. Our PG took the game over down the stretch and made a great effort giving our guys an opportunity to win at the end. Tough loss, but the guys showed some mental toughness which will be needed in the playoffs. -
Yeah last year, same player unfortunately. They were upset in the 2nd round

Trap game for the Tigers. Livingston will be fired up and ready to play! Silsbee by 30 instead of 40.

I'll acknowledge that there are some unforeseen circumstances with the team that have arose that many didn't see coming, including the Coach. I know my assumptions was based on what they did last year and the players they had coming back. They have one of the most, if not the most, talented team in the district and have underachieved based on that talent. But they aren't having a bad season and the district isn't as soft as many thought including myself. -
They come in as freshman and sit or don't get challenged when transfering in. My son sat because of spread lies and hate for Rideaux. He and his brother actually went to HF elementary before homeschooling and then Tekoa from 5th-10th because that's where I worked and just was easier for our family. After his brother graduated from Tekoa, he wanted to go to HF. He was #1 in his class, but the class was only 25-30 kids. He wanted to graduate from a bigger school for better academic opportunities. He has a 4.0 gpa and does have academic scholarships since moving. HF is where all my nieces and nephews have graduated from and currently has my son, 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and 3 cousins. Why the hell wouldn't he want to go? My oldest son wanted the graduated from Tekoa for a tech scholarship and did. J didnt. Denson is the other kid that had to sit his sophomore year. He left BU because two of his honor classes had freaking subs teaching them 😂. He's an honor student at HF

No he plays pretty well every game. You must have your numbers mixed up. #3 dropped 11pts in the first quarter, knocked down three 3s. He's HFs shooter and starts. The kid you probably talking about was taken out of the starting lineup and has played very well the last two games since coming off the bench. He hit two 3s in the 4th which stopped Huffman's momentum twice had some solid defensive plays during the game. Many times that's what it takes to get a players attention when they aren't following the program or sometimes simply changing their role to take some pressure off their shoulders helps. He played his best game of the season tonight at Huffman. Hopefully he keeps it going, they need him to play well for a playoff push. -
No, if you know then you know. All the top guys from SETX all train together at HJ during the summer under Coach Sneed and Coach Bason. We all know where everyone lives my friend. It's ok, HJ and HF are both open campuses and can get kids from outside the district. They just have to sit a year if they are high schoolers.

It was a good game. Both teams went at each other. The difference in the end was free throws as is the culprit in most close games. Huffman hit theirs in the closing minute we didn't. They had a chance under the basket to win it and did. Their big man gave HF fits all game, he played a great game. Nice footwork and a soft touch. Was a good game for any basketball fan
