That happens every year. LoL
-
Why a step back?

One game on a wet field. Yet you want to get on here and try to downplay a kids talents based off that one game. Even referring to your own team as "mediocre at best" (which is low-key downing your own team) just to further downplay the kid's talent. Your a disgrace man
-
OK and Woodville's jv was above average as you can tell when you look at the scores through the season. I think you know that and think you know Luke wasn't just a "jv player" which is why your amazed that your "team of freshmen" held him and the eagles to 20 points. Even calling it a shutdown when I gave you a couple examples of real "shutdowns". LoL. Just focus on your team and maybe yall can get in the playoffs this year coach
-
Yall barely beat Huntington and Crockett then lost pretty handily to Shepherd. Luke was not shut down by anybody. A shut down is yall scoring zero points against Shepherd or varsity offense not scoring anything against our varsity defense. Those are shutdowns. And according to some other members of this board there was a junior leading your "team of freshmen" in rushing and receiving this year.
-
No excuses. Just facts. He pretty much had his way vs the majority of the jv teams and nobody "shut him down". I don't know what Falcon was watching
-
Bruh, you have no clue what your talking about. He didn't struggle at all on jv. The lowest scoring game was 22 against Franklin's jv the first game of the year and Franklin barely gave up anything the rest of the year. The Coldspring game was a damn mudbowl. Everyone knows that was a fluke. All you have to do is look at the scores against similar opponents.
-
A good question that you choose not to answer I guess lol. He was good enough to play varsity on most 3A teams as a freshman. He just wasn't the best option as a starting qb for Woodville yet and the coaching staff decided it would be better to have him getting more reps on jv rather than being a back up or playing another position on varsity. It was a good decision in my opinion but I can understand your stance to some extent. But the claims that someone is purposely trying to hold him back is just bogus.
-
Who would hold him back because of "who he is"? And why would they do that?
-
I don't know a whole lot about his family other than they're wealthy people who have had a hand in politics. I don't know them well enough personally to make statements concerning their character. But Luke's a good kid and a good athlete so judging by that I'd say they're good people.
-
His family has played a part in being able to pay for quality training and pay for him to attend major camps so he can get exposure. Luke's talent and work ethic got him those offers though. They're not giving offers to kids that can't play
-
All the preseason games should be fairly competitive. Anahuac and Diboll will probably be a little tougher than OF and CS though. I don't think we have to over do it. Those games should be good enough to break some of the new guys in.
-
Should be an exciting season from start till finish. I was hoping we'd get to play Newton at home this year but it looks like we'll have to go down the road and meet em again.

I don't really like it but depending on how the brackets play out it could possibly help Woodville win a playoff game or 2 -

Looks like there's a lineman out there participating in 7 on 7. Good stuff -
He's from Woodville. His mother might be from Brazil. I believe his dad played qb for Woodville in the 90s
-
I'm not offended. Just stating facts to go along with his assessment
-
He's steadily improving rapidly. Not that your opinion matters much based on some of the wild projections you've made on this site
-
I believe the Newton RB has had offers for a while but the young QB from Woodville has received 2 power 5 offers within the last month or so.
-
Yea , I'm surprised. I figured he'd make a good D1 QB. Never would have guessed he'd have 2 power 5 offers before the end of his freshman year though. Can't wait to see him in action this upcoming season
-
I thought you were talking about Zayon. Which stats are you saying are correct for Dustin? The 22/23 stats can't be correct because he didn't play any varsity at all that year and his numbers were way higher than that on jv.
-
He was the starting rb the year before also. Probably had over a thousand yards both seasons. The stats your looking at are probably incomplete or something
-
Don't kidd yourself. It'll always be tough trying to defeat the super speedy Purple Gang
-
I don't have the stats but I'm pretty sure Zayon had more than 25 yards receiving in just the first game alone. 38 yards rushing is obviously not accurate either. Dustin got a few carries here and there and was also utilized as a HB/TE type the last couple district games and in the playoffs
-
Newton will also have a lot of size, strength, and experience up front. That will probably be the most significant advantage vs Woodville
