Yea , I'm surprised. I figured he'd make a good D1 QB. Never would have guessed he'd have 2 power 5 offers before the end of his freshman year though. Can't wait to see him in action this upcoming season
I thought you were talking about Zayon. Which stats are you saying are correct for Dustin? The 22/23 stats can't be correct because he didn't play any varsity at all that year and his numbers were way higher than that on jv.
He was the starting rb the year before also. Probably had over a thousand yards both seasons. The stats your looking at are probably incomplete or something
I don't have the stats but I'm pretty sure Zayon had more than 25 yards receiving in just the first game alone. 38 yards rushing is obviously not accurate either. Dustin got a few carries here and there and was also utilized as a HB/TE type the last couple district games and in the playoffs
I doubt that's truly what your opinion is based on. I saw both teams play each other and I don't know how anyone could form that opinion based on varsity performance.
Well I'm sure the main goal of most good players is to get an offer but I'm just saying I personally don't assume a player is worthless because he doesn't have offers and don't assume a player who has offers is head and shoulders above everyone else. And you also have to take in consideration just because a guy doesn't have offers "yet" doesn't mean he's not gonna get any.
Trust me he's D1 talent. I seen it his 7th grade year but he was just raw. He's worked with some trainers to refine his skills since then and is developing fast
You have a point but I could see why the staff made that decision after how the scrimmage against WOS looked last season. He just didn't have the experience to deal with the pressure that would come from good defenses yet. Playing on the jv last season it looked like he improved in mental and physical toughness compared to seasons before. Also sharpened his mechanics even more and is starting to realize how good he can be now.
