  1. They should be taught every suspect is not a criminal just based off your gut feeling. And they should be taught how to detain and arrest criminals without immediately relying on your weapon. It’s understood that guns are sometimes necessary but they should be taught other techniques also so they don’t have to shoot down 1000 civilians each year. To you they may be just a criminal but that could be someone else’s family member with mental issues.
  2. You would think they would be required to go through more training to handle “the pressure that law officers are under on a daily basis”. Nope, let’s just put em through 3 weeks training, give em a uniform/badge/gun and send them out on the streets. Makes a lot of sense. And as far as “thugs”. There are plenty of those in uniform as well.
  3. 1. My initial point of responding to this post was there’s no use in pointing out how how police lives matter when the judicial system has already made it very clear that police lives matter more than most. 2. Since you asked; Yes I do think it’s unfair that the legal system is more forgiving of a murderer in uniform. You can’t allow those who are supposed to uphold the law to break the law and then treat them differently then you would a regular citizen.
  4. The difference is there’s a 99.99% chance a cop will get off and even if convicted will get it reduced to a lesser charge (manslaughter) and receive a slap on the wrist.
  5. Is that his name? Whoever he is, I was impressed with the offense. We put up 56 before the end of the third while we never scored 50 in a game last year if my memory is correct. Not sure exactly how bad Karnes City is but I’m sure they’re better than a couple of those teams we played last year. The defense looks good as I expect but if the offense continues to play well we’ll be a little better than I expected. But the district looks like it might be a little tougher than I expected also. Very happy with the coaching staff so far though. Shoutout to Coach Robinson for making adjustments
  6. Of course police lives matter. 90 are killed during duty each year. 40 of those are due to accidents. You kill a cop and your likely to get the chair or face life in prison at the least. Cops kill 1000 people each year. They are charged for maybe 10 of those. They are convicted in maybe 2 or 3 of the killings they are charged for. If they are convicted they’re doing 10 to 20 years at the most. Thanks for reminding us police lives matter although I think the judicial system has already made that clear
  7. Not sure how good of an opponent Karnes City is but it seems like an impressive win. Think we may have a pretty good offensive coordinator now also.
  8. I understand Shepherd isn’t a great team but far as I know they’ve been at least half decent the last few years compared to Kirbyville who hasn’t been any good at all really. I was more impressed by the margin then anything but like Mr. Aggies says, Shepherd only returns 2 from last year so that explains it for me. But I agree that the truth will be revealed as we get further in the season.
  9. Am I jumping the gun or does it look like this may be a turn around season for Kirbyville judging by this game?
  10. LookS like it will be Trump 2020
  11. I never gave him a pass. How did you draw that conclusion?
  12. If you choose to be simple minded you can make that conclusion.
  13. If you don’t understand how redlining can help create gang culture then your probably not giving it much thought. No use in trying to explain something to someone who doesn’t want to understand.
  14. This and almost every other thread posted by this guy
  15. There are plenty churches in Chicago but unfortunately the gang culture is just stronger than the church culture among the youth as of now.
  16. Yes. Population density and fatherlessness which helps create a strong gang culture. The guy who had a shootout with the cops is likely a gang member and the looting/shooting was likely done by gang members along with a few extras who were probably persuaded to participate by a false narrative on social media that the victim was 15 years old.
  17. 1. His partner was with him. 2.You would think the trained person would be trained to avoid these situations. Common sense would tell me if I’m creeping in someone’s back yard there’s a chance the occupants can be alarmed. 3. The policemen announcing himself is the best solution. He was not doing an investigation or serving a warrant. He was supposed to be doing a wellness check.
  18. I’d like to hear what he has to say about that and also an officers’s response when he see’s a gun. In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to say “Let me see your hands” when you see someone’s hand and it has a gun in it. A more appropriate response would probably be “drop your weapon” or to simply yell “gun! gun! gun!” like I’ve seen in other videos where police have shot suspects who actually had guns.
  19. The freeze frame looks weird. It goes from hearing the gunshot to seeing what looks like a gun on the ground then back to what the officer supposedly seen the moment before he shot her although this is not what he said he saw. There are no blinds or anything like that on the picture but the gun is very clear and visible although nothing else on the picture is very clear. Again it is protocol for officers to announce themselves except on seldom occasions. Wellness checks are not one of those occasions. If someone is raping her I don’t think the door is wide open. If the door is open at a crime seen and stays open from the time of the neighbor’s call till the officer arrives the suspects have probably already done what they’ve done and flees. No need for you and your partner to sneak around the back because if there is a criminal there he can now exit out the front door. He had a simple task and he made it harder than it had to be.
