  1. Every school has transfers once in a while and of course a lot of schools benefit from transfers. But there’s a difference between benefitting from transfers and actively recruiting transfers. I could be wrong but I’m not aware of any other schools in the area who have had 4 transfers in the same year. If you know any then enlighten me.
  2. I have no problem with kids transferring. Even if it’s just for athletic reasons that’s their business in my opinion long as they are approved by the UIL. I have a problem with coaches RECRUITING. I find it hard to believe that 3 or 4 talented basketball kids decided to move to HF the same year on their own. If this type of thing gets out of hand it’s not only unfair to opponents to basically have to compete against “select teams”. It’s unfair to hometown kids who don’t get to rep their community because the coach has recruited a roster full of selects
  3. That’s more reasonable. Still questionable though
  4. Nobody has scored more than 71 this year vs HJ. Not saying Silsbee isn’t good enough offensively to score 84 but I doubt it.
  5. I don’t mind transfers. I just don’t like recruiting. Save that for the next level. If your coaching high school just coach what you have to the best of your abilities
  6. 3 starters is a lot. Sounds like a better job recruiting than coaching to me
  7. Exactly how many moved in and how many of those are starting?
  8. Bruh the fact that Vidor beat HF in a preseason game around Thanksgiving means NOTHING.
  9. A lot of coaches are good with Xs and Os. All of them should be in my opinion but sadly some aren’t. But the kids don’t care how much you know they care how much you care. And it’s easier to reach kids when they know you care. That’s what makes great coaches
  10. Idk HF played HJ close last game. And that lost may be just what Silsbee needed to play more inspired and step it up a notch
  11. Tough. First road win wins district I guess lol
  12. Does anyone have any road wins in this district?
  13. I really think they will be more prepared for the early rounds of the playoffs now. I could see a premature exit before this game but now I feel they may be aware of how much shorter the gap is between them and lesser teams than previous years and may be more focused all four quarters to make sure they beat the teams they’re supposed to beat.
  14. Good game. Congrats HF. And Silsbee will likely be just fine. Lesson learned from a tough, well coached, much improved team
  15. I agree but I do think they would have a slight chance against SA. SA would still be the favorite though. Any of the others...no chance
  16. That won’t help if they keep “beating themselves” every time they play Crockett lol. But we will see
  17. Coldspring averages around 70 or 80 points a game. They’ve only had 4 games where they scored below 60. 2 of those were against Crockett. Funny how they haven’t beat themselves against anyone else but Crockett lol.
  18. He had 23 points and 14 rebounds and 2 blocks the first matchup. He had 7 points, 17 rebounds, 2 steals, and 6 blocks the second matchup. Regardless of how clumsy you think he is or he may be you can’t honestly say he’s not effective.
  19. Coldspring was up by 4 at the end of 3 the first game. They were up by 10 the second time. Crocket cranked up the D in the fourth quarter both times. That’s not a coincidence. Crocket is as good as they are largely because of their defense and the “big guy” is a major part of that. He had 6 blocks that second game so if your claiming he didn’t effect the game your delusional
  20. Jasper is overrated just a tad bit but they are a verry good team. Diboll hasn’t had a verry tough schedule but they’re undefeated for a reason. All but one by 20 points or more. I thought Jasper was the better team and I think them missing their running back had a lot to do with them loosing along with Diboll being a good team also
