Well they are capable of playing well. 10-5. Just struggling in conference right now. Hopefully things will get better

We will see how they respond this week. They started out well, but for some reason always struggle with UTRGV. Hopefully they will get pitching and hitting going again. They always struggle with SLU also, so I see them losing that series also

They split the divisions in FB, so it makes since to split them in other sports as well. FB Marshall only beat BH by 10 so I don’t know if they could have beat WB or not

They are now a dismal 7-6 playing mainly Rinky Dink teams. I was incorrect on at least 40 more losses than wins. It appears that is actually 87

The Bulldogs had a good defensive end that some called a LB’er, however he was a defensive end. One of the LB’ers was decent, but the smaller one was not good(I don’t know if I ever saw him make a tackle). He started but looked like he was afraid of contact. He must have started after the one they said was good got hurt in the 1st game and was out the remainder of the season I am sure they had some good moments but nothing great. Certainly didn’t play well vs Texas High, Huntsville, Montgomery, Silsbee, or Lake Creek. The defense was pretty poor in those games!

Not pessimism, just facts. They have been poor ever since they got rid of Bruder. I understand that they had to do that, however the AD at that time who knew nothing about hiring qualified coaches quickly hired his buddy Hooks. Evidently she was a good hitter at Texas, but since she has been head coach at Lamar, their hitting is bad. They do good if they can get about 4 hits a game and the pitching staff is very weak. She had a winning season her 1st year with Bruder’s recruits and a good season last year. Other than those 2 seasons they have been atrocious She has about 40 more losses than wins. What good team have they beat this year?

Just got beat by another Rinky Dink that few have heard of IUIndy. 6-5 after today and probably 6-6 after tomorrow and they continue to keep Hooks even though her record is HORRIBLE Appears that Lamar doesn’t care about softball!

Why is Lamar’s softball schedule site so poor in keeping up with their score updates during their games I guess their recruiting is weak as well as the coaching because they struggle with the Rinky Dink teams they play. Texas, Tennessee, and maybe Tulsa are the only respectable teams they have played so far and of course they were destroyed in all of those games. They are barely beating the Rinky Dinks and got beat by UTC today.

They better get tremendously better on defense. They haven’t played good defense in the past 7-8 years. They need some coaches to teach secondary players how to play. Those positions have been extremely bad. LB’er play hasn’t been much better. Also have to get the OL much better and find a QB and receivers. The new coaching staff will hopefully teach for improvement

What a fantastic 8th inning of offense today to secure a 7-4 win. The Cards were down 4-0 headed into the bottom of the 8th and came up with some clutch hits to secure the win. 5-1, an excellent start to the season

Lamar has started the season really well. Hopefully they will continue to improve I know they are playing some Rinky Dinks now, however I think they are going to have another good season

Navydawg31, you are correct This was before conference after they were getting beat by some Rinky Dink teams and how bad did they get beat by an average Big 12 team Can you say close to 50

My 1st post stated mainly middle of the pack, the possible cellar dwellers post was after they were losing to some non conference rinky dinks

Hope they win it all, however they have only played 3 SLC games, still many to go and if they continue to play like they did vs HC it could get ugly The conference may be weaker than I thought

Well good ole AggiesAreWe and navydawg31, glad to see y’all posting Lamar basketball is doing very well in conference and I hope they keep it up and become conference champions This I do know as well as both of you. They play in one of the weakest conferences in D1 NCAA basketball and whoever wins the conference will either get a 15 or 16 seed or a playin game and unfortunately get blown out by a 1 seed. The committee knows the SLC is very weak The answer to y’all’s question which both of you already know; are the Cardinals any good? For the SLC possibly, but in reality NO they are not! That’s about as truthful as I can get

3 seasons and 3 very good years for PNG 2 state finals, with 1 being a state championship, and 4 rounds deep. I would say highly impressive meat to go Indians!

Coach Joseph and staff have done a phenomenal job with the Indians. A very excellent hire I certainly hope PNG wins this week The big worry is the secondary. Remember the 1st state game vs SOC, the DL and LB’ers shut down the run, however the secondary was simply overmatched. I am hoping this is not the case this game Good luck Indians!
