  1. Unfortunately SE Texas had several weak districts this year with the majority going 0-4 or 1-3 in the 1st round. Hopefully the districts will be better next year My predictions of FBM, Nederland, PAM, and WOS being 1 and done was 100 percent correct Congrats to the teams moving on to the next round BH, PNG, Lumberton, HF, Jasper, Silsbee, Woodville, Newton, and Deweyville
  2. LC players are also in HS along with all the other teams players. You either compete are you don’t. Unfortunately Nederland did not tonight
  3. Hate to tell you Brubaker but the game is already out of hand I predicted LC anywhere from 42 to 56 but it looks like 70 or more
  4. Dallas still can’t beat the good teams. The defense was so so vs the Eagles. They rave about Quinn but I don’t see any superior defense and offensively Prescott’s stepping out of bounds on the 2 point play and throwing to the 2 yard line on the last play are IMO inexcusable I see some outfit is projecting a 13-4 finish. I am thinking more like 10-7 the way they play( decent 1 game and bad the next)
  5. I agree that Marco was not a good AD. He hired a softball coach that can’t win, he did not get rid of the baseball coach that players can’t stand and post season tournament record is really bad, got rid of Harmony and Price. Women’s basketball has certainly slipped since they let her go and Price’s teams at least competed. I will say the new AD appears to have made a good hire in football. They have a chance to finish 6-5 or 7-4 Maybe Brooks team will be better this year
  6. Their losses were to 3 good teams PNG, Silsbee, and TC; 1 very overrated team that will be 1 and done PAM; and 2 teams that we discovered were not very good this year, WOS and FBM, and they like PAM and the Bulldogs will be 1 and done The Bulldogs are in the playoffs, a better season than last year, but I certainly would not call it a very good season at 4-7 Maybe next year will be better
  7. Good news Nederland is in the playoffs Bad news they are 1 of the worst 5A D2 teams to make the playoffs in the State 6 losses giving up an average of 39 a game and scoring an average of 15 4 wins against teams with a combined 15-25 record and 6-22 in district Lake Creek probably anywhere from 42, 49, 56 points Bulldogs probably 0, 7, 14 points once LC puts backups in
  8. I have been posting for 2 years that the Bulldogs have been just about as bad as you can get. It comes with the territory who you do not have much talent and your coaching is horrendous. Many posters whine and cry about my posts because they don’t like the truth Their spill is your always negative and a Bulldog hater, when in reality I am simply honest Maybe some will start realizing that I know the difference between good talent and coaching from very little talent and poor coaching
  9. PAM will be 1 and done. May have been the most overrated 5A team in the state!
  10. You must remember last year 2-8 and played like a bad HISD school and could only beat 2 weak sisters This year brought a slight improvement to go 4-7 and beat all the weak sisters except WOS and FBM and made the playoffs due to a weak district except for PNG and TC To be successful, you must have talent and good coaching the majority of the time. The past 2 seasons Nederland has shown that they have neither. Hopefully next season will be much better, with a better senior class Hopefully they will have some juniors and sophomores to help They simply have not been able to compete with the good teams these past 2 seasons
  11. Lumberton has some very good assistant coaches and just about everyone of them I have talked to does not like the HC and would love to see him leave. They say he is not a good AD and his football knowledge is weak They are winning because of the assistant coaches and talent
  12. Purple eagle, I certainly hope you are right for next season and I have always supported the team. The post has nothing to do with supporting the team, I am simply stating facts from the past 2 seasons They were 2-8 last season and this season they will improve to 4-7. This is an improvement, even though a small one from last season I am not going to be Mr Rah Rah just for the heck of it, I am going to post the facts, and yes TC will win by 14 or more and Lake Creek will win by more than that I would love for the Dogs to be as good as PNG, but they are not these past 2 seasons
  13. I will agree with Brubaker that the Bulldogs have improved a little from last year Theu will finish 4-7 this season. There 4 wins are all against teams with losing records. What have we discovered this season: #1 WOS is not very good this year and the Dogs gave up 40 to them due to the defense shutting it down in the 4th quarter #2 PAM destroyed the Dogs and we found out last night that they are not near as good as they thought they were and May not get past the second round #3 Dayton which I and most posters thought would be much improved is not good. The Dogs won but game up 30 and Willowridge kicked them last night #4 FBM not even close to as good as the past few seasons and I look for them to get beat in first round #5 The only 2 good teams in district this year are PNG and TC So with that, I am glad the Dogs improved to 4 wins and made the playoffs this season, I am not sure they are very competitive yet I do believe the offense has improved, although they threw 4 picks last night, the defense and special teams are unfortunately very weak
  14. Certainly have to congratulate Lumberton the past 2 seasons. I think they would be competitive in many districts these past 2 seasons. Appears they will either face Palestine or Athens in Bi-district
  15. TC wins probably by 14 or more. Nederland’s defense is poor. Nederland 2-8 last season and 4-7 this season which is a little improvement IMO offense a B, defense a D, and special teams and coaching an F
  16. You may have read my post but you didn’t hear anything Please don’t be sour because the Bulldogs have not been good these past 2 years. It simply is a result of poor coaching
  17. I also said PNG scoring 35-42 and Nederland scoring 7-14 I missed Nederland by 2
  18. No I said either 2-8 or 3-7 because I missed Dayton game. I did not realize at the time how weak Dayton was going to be, so yes my 3-7 turned to 4-6 and 4-7 after the bi- district loss I will say I missed my initial prediction by 1 game the 2-8 prediction was based on if they lost to SF and the 3-7 was if they beat SF looks like you may have misread my post
  19. I told everyone on this site that Nederland had finished playing the weak sisters and would finish 4-3 district and 4-7 after they get hammered in bi-district You simply need to pay attention to my posts because they 98 or 99 percent accurate
  20. Both coaches have to agree on officials So they get the crew they agreed on If they can’t agree the crew is selected by the UIL cant blame the game on officials, PNG is just a much better team
  21. It is definitely a combination of quality coaching and having good athletes in most cases I have seen some teams do well year in and year out with average talent. Examples East Chambers and Orangefield Both schools have very good coaching I have also seen teams do very well with Larry’s and Joe’s, who overcome weak coaching. Examples PAM and FBM I also have seen teams do well with good coaching and good players who are smart and make few mistakes Examples Alamo Heights, Alexis, SLC, Austin Westlake I have also seen teams with supposedly very good talent, be extremely poor so to bad coaching and players that are not very intelligent Example Dallas Cowboys In conclusion you need good coaching, good players, and an excellent system to be successful
