  1. I missed the 6 th seed, however they lost ground on the Rangers and the way they have played the last 2 games they still May finish 6th. They were 1/2 game out after beating Texas. What are they now? 3 or 31/2, so I wouldn’t get too chippy. They are not closer to the 2 seed and you are possibly the one that may not know what you are talking about
  2. This was simply my observation of the scrimmage. A few posters indicated that they had a good scrimmage and I agree that they have improved a little from last year, but IMO they have a long way to go in order to win this season. The realistic comment was for the posters that think I am putting players down. I have mentioned where their main weaknesses are, but have said nothing about any players. I am stating that they don’t have much talent this year. I know that Nederland supporters don’t like this, but IMO this is a fact I applaud the Bulldog supporters wanting the team to do well. I want them to do well also, however I am going to be realistic in my observation of the season outcome for the Dogs
  3. Astros have not looked good the last 2 games. Should have been a 2-1 loss, but Baker left Valdez in too long. Appears that they will be a wildcard this year
  4. Didn’t say sorry receivers, I had misspelled receivers. I said they were one of the weak areas on offense and I am not downgrading teenagers, simply being realistic The Bulldogs just don’t have much talent this year I would love for Nederland to win this year, however the scrimmage vs HF showed that they are not close to winning this year and I unlike some of the posters must be realistic
  5. Secondary is still the weak link on defense. Offensively relievers, OL, and QB’s are still struggling unfortunately with the current coaching staff these issues will not be fixed improvement from last year but still 3-7 or 2-8
  6. Sounds like the Friendly Raiders didn’t perform very well vs the Tigers
  7. I have been telling you posters, if they get beat by WOS, their record will be either 3-7 or 2-8 this season This is usually what happens when you do not have much talent and the coaching is weak!
  8. The last 2 seasons have been bad. The reason, not much talent and poor coaching Unfortunately this season will not be much better. Why, not much talent and poor coaching I will agree that they are still learning and will be improved from last year, unfortunately they will face 6 teams with more talent. Just my 2 cents
  9. What in the world is purple eagle talking about in this crying towel post?
  10. If players don’t want to play for JS, then MB should reassign him. If WOS beats Big Ned, then 3-7 will be the best they can do this season
  11. Yes they did, finally got some good pitching Hopefully that will continue Glad to see Verlander back. Will have a great chance if they start hitting with RISP. We will see how they perform on this road trip vs the Yankees and Orioles. Hopefully like they did against Cleveland
  12. I hope you are right, however I think they will be the 6th seed after the Cleveland, New York, and Baltimore series. Hopefully from there, they will pick it up and have a chance to win their division. Bielak’s last 2 starts have been disappointing, Maton’s last 3 appearances have been poor, and I don’t know if Martinez, and Montero have been any good at all this season
  13. Are you sure they are playing good enough to make the playoffs as of right now, because their pitching staff is doing some big time struggling
  14. I do not bet, however don’t be surprised if they don’t make it the way they are playing now
  15. PAM will be good this year but will probably only go 3 rounds deep. I give BH the edge simply on a better coaching staff
  16. Astros are playing 1 good game followed by 2 bad games as of today. They are getting any timely hits and the pitching staff is struggling They keep pitching Bielak, Maton, Montero, and Gonzales. These pitchers can’t get the job done. They need to trade for a decent pitcher The way they are playing right now leads me to believe that they won’t make the playoffs this year unless they can turn it around in August and September
  17. Houston Lamar is the only one you mentioned that is always talented and is 6A. The others you mentioned are so so Rhey played like a Kashmere, Wheatley, Furr, Scarborough
  18. Nederland’s problem this year is that the returning starters are juniors and only a handful of talented players. Offensively they are struggling at the receiver, RB, and QB positions and an iffy OL. Defensively, the secondary is really weak and special teams must improve tremendously That is IMO why they are picked 6 out of 8 in district Everyone should remember that last season they played the majority of their games like an HISD school
  19. Dayton is probably going to come in 4th. I see FBM, PNG, and TC before Dayton
  20. Yes I agree that they have a tough non district schedule, however FBM, PNG, TC, and Dayton will all have better teams than WOS and overrated Silsbee
  21. Oop’s my mistake Dayton clobbered them last year also, so no win there either for the Dogs
  22. FBM, PNG, TC, and Dayton will all be better than Silsbee IMO
  23. I said they have a chance to beat Dayton and Silsbee is in a lower classification and IMO will not make it to state Remember that TC and SF destroyed the Dogs last year The top 3 teams in district will be FBM, PNG, and TC
  24. Texas City and Santa Fe have as many starters coming back as Nederland and both destroyed the Bulldogs last season, so I don’t see the Dogs winning those games, they may have a chance against Dayton. They do not have the athletes that Marshall has and PNG has a better coaching staff. They should beat Willowridge and GP. If they don’t beat WOS and Silsbee they could well be 2-8 again IMO all district teams except Willowridge and GP are better than WOS and Silsbee
