  1. The Cards just can’t get it done. Relief pitching is still poor and get get timely hitting going. I don’t know for the life of me why they seem to always play bad vs A&M CC. 3 conference series left and since they never seem to play well vs SEL, I look for 1-2 vs them, 1-2 vs Mc Neese, and either 2-1 or 1-2 vs HCU. They end up in conference either 10-14 or 9-15 and probably in 9th out of 9
  2. Glad to see good hitting today need to win the series tomorrow
  3. Same coaching staff and not a whole lot of talent. The Junior class is going to be decent, I don’t know if many sophomores will make varsity, the senior class will be weak like last season’s class Under this coaching staff, I look for the season results to be anywhere from2-8 to 5-5 and sitting at home again with district record either 3-4 or 2-5 Posters that are honest and correctly evaluate the game know that last year, the team played like an HISD school
  4. Wow, what a nice win vs TCU. I did not expect this. Bats came alive tonight and pitching did enough for the W The Cards have 2 nice wins vs A&M and TCU, however they are average in one of the weakest conferences in NCAA D1. It appears that they play to the level of competition Maybe they can get it going this 2nd half of conference
  5. Nice win and an excellent pitching performance today. It looks like I am going to be right on the money after TCU. I predicted 19-17 after TCU They have 20 regular season games left My predictions: non conference- losses to TCU, Baylor, Houston, UT Rio Grande, and 1-2 vs SFA. Wins- Prarie View and 1 vs SFA (2-6) conference: 1-2 vs SEL, 1-2 vs McNeese, could be anywhere from2-1 to 1-2 vs CC and HCU season before tournament anywhere from27-28 to 25-30 changed from yesterday: conference anywhere from 11-13 to 9-15 if they make conference tournament 0-2
  6. The way the Cards are playing now, I am predicting 24-31 season and 8-16 conference record and either 8th or 9th in conference
  7. Just stating facts. Lamar is not playing well in all phases of the game right now. They are not hitting well, not pitching well, and not scoring enough runs to win games. call these comments negative if you want but they are facts. I simply think Lamar can’t recruit well and on the negative side Davis has not done well since he has been there. The pitching staff may be better than last year as you have stated, however it is not good by any means
  8. A big thanks to KF89 for posting district standings each week
  9. Well I see that fabulous pitching staff did it again. Davis again puts 2 relievers in that can’t get the job done. I noticed 1 of them has an 80 something ERA and he continues pitching him and he continues getting shelled. 18-14 now and probably 19-17 after TCU and 5-7 conference after this weekend’s series. Do not be surprised if they wind up with a losing record and are sitting at home during the conference tournament
  10. Davis does it again in game #3 vs Northwestern The Cards are up 4-2 bottom of 7th and Davis puts in 2 relief pitchers that have shown time after time that they can’t get the job done. I don’t understand why he puts them in, I guess he likes getting beat. Lamar’s pitching staff is struggling badly After 9 conference games, are close to being cellar dwellers. They will probably be 18-17 after the TCU game and 5-7 in conference
  11. Big win in game #2 vs Northwestern Pitching staff tried to blow it until they brought in their only reliable reliever Cleveland. Hopefully they can win the 3rd game, however they are going to have to hit better
  12. 48 halfway through conference play Look for them to be 8th or 9th at the end of conference play
  13. Sorry many hits. As my old padna used to say I knew they were bad I just didn’t know they were this bad!
  14. Well I see this excellent pitching staff gave up a bunch of runs and many runs vs Northwestern tonight as they continue to take a nose dive in the conference standing. They are about 2 series away from being dead last. Looks like Davis and Cards are going to finish the season with a losing record and may not make it to the conference tournament the way they are playing since going 9-0 at the start of the season. 8-12 since then and 3-4 conference
  15. Another loss tonight. If they continue to pitch tonight’s losing pitcher they will struggle winning. He simply is not pitching well at all and yes the hitters are continuing to struggle as well. The way they are playing now, I am now thinking 27-28 for the season before conference tournament (hopefully they will make it there) and 11-13 in conference It can certainly be better if they can get it together
  16. The pitching certainly may be better than last year, however it appears as of now unless things change that the season record will be better last season vs this season If the pitching is better this year, which it certainly may be,as you stated, that means that it was horrible last season
  17. My apologies 8-10 and please correct me if I am wrong but that is a losing record and they still haven’t played the better teams in conference
  18. I am sure that you are correct about position players and hitters, however correct me if I am wrong but stats show pitchers gave up 11 hits today, 14 yesterday, and 19 in the 1st game, so I will simply disagree about the pitching staff. 1st 9 games probably pretty good, since them not very good, however offense has not done much lately either. That is why their record since the 1st 9 games is 6-11
  19. Other than Cleveland who went 7 shutout innings the others were not to good. They gave up 44 hits, not good. Lamar scored 19 runs that’s plenty to win at least 2 of 3. If the pitching staff continues to perform the way they are look for several mor losses
  20. Cards lose 2 of 3 to Nichols at home. The fabulous pitching staff surrendered 20 runs, allowing 44 hits and yes the offense sputtered today. What are they going to do when they face the top 3 teams all on the road? My 12-12 conference prediction may be a little high, it may be more like 10-14. They simply have an extremely weak pitching staff
  21. That is what my post was about Eagle 91. Evidently the talent level this season is extremely weak. Jr/Sr athletes must be really bad
  22. A nice win to avoid a sweep and rubber match tomorrow Cards have gotten plenty of runs the past 2 games but pitching staff has been weak. Hopetwin the rubber match tomorrow
  23. Swept by McNeese at home. If Hooks is back next season we will know that Lamar does not care about the softball program
  24. Lamar’s top reliever did a fabulous job going 7 innings. I look for a Nichols sweep in Beaumont because Lamar has no decent relievers left and just not doing well at the plate
  25. Softball continues to lose Simply one of several poor athletic programs at Lamar
