  1. My point is stats simply don’t mean much. It is about wins and losses. I know you like stats, but basically they are for the players They were 3rd in the AL and just got beat at home by the 6th seed. 3 runs in 18 innings and a measly 12 hits and a bull pen that choked it up in the 8th. I would no say that is very good!
  2. I understand stats very well and know that wins and losses mean more than stats, so Mr stat man did they win or lose? Oh that’s right they lost, but I am sure they had good stats
  3. Mr statman the last time I checked on a team moving forward it was about wins and losses
  4. Think about it posters. This year Houston had average at best pitching and below average hitting. They were really fortunate to win their division, so all in all they accomplished making it to post season I still think the GM is not what you want in a GM
  5. Passing game was a little better in the Splendora game IMO. The problem was not much pressure on the QB that passed just about every down and a weak weak secondary for the Dogs
  6. I agree with AggiesAreWe, I think 24 hours to post those would be better I would like to hear more comments on the games just played. I would also like to see district standings posted. What I would like to see removed is my weeks schedule
  7. 1 Atascococita 2 BH 3 Lufkin 4 GB 5 Crosby 6 Angelton 7 kempner 8 LC 9 Nederland 10 PNG 11 WF 12 LCM 13 Livingston 14 Huffman 15 BC 16 Divoll 17 Coldspring 18 Anahuac 19 Newton 20 Woodville 21 Kountze 22 Deweyville 23 Sabine Pass 24 Evadale 25 Fort Bend Christian
  8. And the Silsbee fans thought they were really really really good. Appears that they have many things to improve on Yes they will make the playoffs, probably the #2 or #3 spot and 2 to 3 rounds deep
  9. Look for a Bulldog win if the defense improves this week. If they don’t it could be trouble
  10. The Indians found a way to win and that is great. A win vs Huntsville and we will see another district championship. Hopefully the defense will get better
  11. An excellent win for the Bulldogs 3-1 start and 1-0 The offense appeared to improve even though it was hard to tell vs Splendora, the weakest team they will play this year. The running game with Thomas has been good, but was fantastic tonight and I saw improvement in the passing game. I did also see a little improvement with the OK Defensively, the Dogs did not appear like there was any improvement Did not see much pressure on the QB and the secondary is just bad. Hopefully they will get better this week All in all a very nice win for the Dogs
  12. Whoever comes in 4th place will be in the playoffs which is good, however they will be 1 and done after their bi-district game
  13. It doesn’t appear that the Cowboys will make the playoffs this year. They possibly have the worst defense in the NFL. offensively they have no running game, Prescott is not very good and Lamb can’t even get open and if he does, he fumbles. The OL is also one of the worst in the NFL There is no doubt in my mind that they have the worst coached secondary in the NFL
  14. Hopefully they can beat Dayton and Montgomery The question marks are is Nederland’s secondary going to improve and is the passing game going to improve The OL is just not good enough to only have a running game The other question would be is the punter going to be able to catch a snap and IMO Dayton and Montgomery will both be better than Silsbee
  15. Jake94, If you read my entire post I started with how I was liking the new coaching staff and think they will get this program back on track Next I pointed out what must be improved for the Bulldogs to make the playoffs My statement on average LB’ers was correct because that D1 LB’er hasn’t played since the Lumberton game and the other D1 you talked about is a DE The offensive line is a weak spot and they did not show improvement against Silsbee. It took a very talented RB Thomas about 25 carries to get 100 yards and they were in the backfield all game vs the passing game. They will get better, but a weak spot now I ended with I hope they do well these next 7 games because they will face 5 teams in district better than Silsbee There wasn’t any negative comments in that post, simply areas that need improvement
  16. Yes, that tells me that Silsbee has been good and Nederland has not
  17. All I know is the defense gave up 23 points and the punter gave up 14 to a 4A D2 school It probably would have been more, but Silsbee didn’t throw must the 2nd half. The Bulldogs who are certainly better than the past 4 years had no pass rush and the secondary is not very good As far as Silsbee’s D Line , they were ok, however the Bulldogs OL made them look much better than they are Again they are going to face 5 better teams in district Silsbee is a good 4A D2 team, but not outstanding
  18. My question to you after seeing the Silsbee game is where was that D1 LB’er because I sure didn’t see anyone that looked like a D1 LB’er. Maybe he didn’t play against Silsbee. I am baffled if you think the OL is not the problem after watching the QB have to run for his life time after time on passing attempts. You are right about the recievers. Hopefully they will continue to improve because Dayton, Huntsville, Lake Creek, Montgomery, and PaNG will all be better teams than Silsbee and WOS
  19. Jones pays all this money to Prescott, Lamb, and Parsons and they are just not that good I don’t think Parsons made 1 tackle against the Saints. Your typical Prescott - throw interceptions or 2 yard passes when it is 3rd and 11 or 4rh and 9 and Lamb is lazy. Jogs on most of his routes and won’t block for anyone As long as Jones owns the Cowboys they will not make it to a Super Bowl again
  20. I certainly like what the new coaching is building at Nederland I think we will see the program improve a bunch I certainly hope they do well these last 7 games in a very tough district The problems that must be addressed IMO and the coaching staff knows this offensively: the passing game due to an OL that struggles in pass protection and a very athletic QB that simply doesn’t throw very well defensively: a very weak secondary and average LB’ers special teams: kick off team and punter I am confident that the coaching staff are working hard in these areas I think they will continue to improve
  21. I think is is safe to say that the Cowboys have the worst secondary in the NFL. They raved about # 21 last week. He is not good at all. # 7 is probably the most overrated DB I have seen in the NFL. The entire defense is poor. Offensively they do not have much of a running game. 9-8 season possibly!
  22. For some unknown reason the Bulldogs have been missing talented secondary personnel and talented Offensive lineman the past 4-5 years
  23. First off, nice win for Silsbee. QB looked good. Nederland has improved and has a much more fight and discipline The things I see that must be improved quickly for the Bulldogs. Defensively, the secondary is pretty poor Offensively, the passing game is not there. IMO, the QB is having to run for his life because the OL is extremely weak and the receivers don’t get open I know Silsbee got 1 called back, but have been much closer if the Bulldogs had a punter that could catch a snap. 14 points on his 2 blunders(I know he didn’t do it on purpose) and it is a team game just not 1 person’s fault
  24. Appears that neither Hitchcock and HF do not work on defense very much. 71-21 is still giving up 50 points. Lousy defense by both teams!
  25. Reyes left because LTown lost very talented players. Is he winning at Palestine? NO. Westbrook , United, and BISD have turned in to true inner city schools according to a friend that works at Westbrook! Teachers do not get paid enough for what they have to put up with
