Nederland (14) @ West Orange-Stark (13) - FINAL
spidersal replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Much more discipline and a not give up attitude this season under the new coaching staff at Nederland. They simply need to keep working on getting the OL and passing game going and I think they will. They are playing hard on defense, however the secondary must improve, but very nice to be 2-0. WOS is much better than last 2 seasons. They are going to be ok once the offense gets going. Very good speed and the defense is playing well Good luck to both teams as they continue the season. -
Couldn’t tell what #8’s injury was appeared on the screen to be an ankle hopefully returns soon
-
Bulldogs should win, but you never know
-
So glad to see a lot of positives for the Bulldogs this season my take - coaching staff much improved, defensive pursuit much better, discipline much improved, a very good RB and an athletic QB Obviously there must be improvement and there will be biggest concerns after seeing game #1 passing game, kick off team, punt return team, OL, and secondary I see at least 6 wins, hopefully more. According to how much they improve!

I could care less about other MLB teams. My post was simply stating a problem that the Astros are having and need to address in the offseason.
-
Again you are correct and that is exactly what my post stated except for my mistake on Peña which you corrected, so I would say my post was not an opionion
-
Nice win today and they hit the ball. AggiesAreWe, thanks for your input, I stand corrected on Peña, however on target on the others mentioned
-
Excellent post by AggiesAreWe, until the last sentence Even though they should have won 3 of 4 vs Orioles (pitching letdown), the players that I mentioned have poor batting averages Yes they are very good on defense, however they are struggling at the plate, especially with runners on base. Do they still have a chance to win the division(absolutely), but to do it their hitting, especially with runners on base must improve you have some excellent comments, but it just annoys you when I post some factual comments. Have a good week
-
Astros are folding fast. About 2 weeks from being behind Seattle Continue to play guys that can’t hit Peña outstanding SS but can’t hit. Myers and McCormick are excellent outfielders but can’t hit and do not have a 1st baseman that can hit. They better get it together or they will be sitting at home this postseason GM needs to go
-
Glad that Nederland got a new coaching staff and players are excited for the season. I look for them to be much improved this season I certainly think they will beat the Raiders, but unless they have improved tremendously from the scrimmage, where they only scored twice, I don’t think they will score 40 like was posted by someone
-
You have to have good pitching to win in the majors and Houston has very few good ones I don’t think the GM did a very good job in the offseason in trying to acquire any good ones and we are seeing the results They also need a 1st baseman that can hit
-
I wish the same, however they will not take 2 from the SLC. The loss to the 8 seed UIW killed their chance, even though they gave a valiant effort after that loss. My question is why have an end of the year tournament if the conference champion has no chance to go if they don’t win the tournament
-
Well, the 1st game loss hurt badly. A super effort to try and get to the championship game . They finally ran out of pitching and bats cooled off. A very good season with a SLC championship and a 44-15 record. Hats off to the Cardinals and hopefully this will be the start of some good seasons in the future.
-
The Cardinals are fighting like crazy after their 1st game loss. A win against McNeese tomorrow puts them in the championship game. Way to go Lamar, keep pounding the ball and hope pitchers can survive
-
Hopefully a win this afternoon and again in the morning to get to the championship game Also hope the team that gets to the finals has to go to the same process as Lamar

Orangefield vs. Franklin - FRANKLIN ADVANCES!

OF is in region 3. They will not play a region 1 team in region 3 finals. If they make it to state maybe -
Well, first of all we need to congratulate Lamar on a very fine season. They had at least 41 wins and a conference championship The first time that has happened in a long time I was hoping they would make it to the regionals this season, but is now very unlikely coming from the losers bracket. I hope it happens in the near future, but again a phenomenal season
-
Way to go McNeese and congratulations to the Cardinals on a super championship Now put your game into high gear for the SLC tournament
-
Well, they couldn’t get the sweep. No less than a tie for 1st, hopefully McNeese will come through That being said, a fantastic regular season 41-13 and 17-7 in conference. I have to be honest, I didn’t think they could do it with Davis leading them. Thankfully I was wrong Now Cardinals, you have to get it done in the tournament or unfortunately sit at the house with an excellent record The committee will not take 2 teams from the SLC
-
What a fantastic finish in game 2 with a clutch pinch hit in the 9th A win tomorrow assures the SLC championship. Way to go Cards, keep it up
-
Excellent comment Rez
-
Razor that comment was made because when they look improved, Bulldog fans usually start posting within 5 minutes after the scrimmage or game. I made that is jest due to no responses in hours after the scrimmage Certainly glad to see they are getting better coaching and look better
-
As far as the other posters that simply try and out me down, why did you simply state your thoughts on the scrimmage. If you were not there like me I apologize to you. If you were at the scrimmage simply post how you thank it went like a couple of posters did
-
I simply asked a question, since at the time of my post no one had reported how the spring game went and that was about 11pm. I did not think my post was negative, simply asking a question. Of course instead of getting an answer on how it went, we get all this half empty and negative comments reactions. However, I do thank the 2 or 3 post on how they thought the scrimmage went, especially the better coaching comments and the changing of some positions to help the Dogs this coming season
