As the defense of other teams get tougher as the playoffs go. Every team Newton plays will be focused on their run game. Which means stacking the box. I would love to see Newton come out and do something no one would ever expect. Like spreading their Offense out and throwing the ball more. If they could get any success throwing the ball. I believe these are 2 of the second best teams in District only behind Newton. Will Hemphill show up are continue down that rode of game self destruction. The good news is I believe are 8th graders and JV are undefeated for the year. Hemphill better get it together tonight are New Waverly fixing to put a whooping on us. Why?? New Waverly is a good Team.

Yes CC kicked off to HH in the 2nd half. I didn’t see the kick off are what happened there. But I do know shortly after Hemphill received a kick and lost the ball received another kick and lost that one too. HH offense was clicking they just couldn’t get on the field in the 3rd quarter.CC capitalized off all the 2nd half mistakes HH made and pulled ahead with 8 seconds left in the game for the win. CC to good of a team to make that many mistakes against and pull off a win. If Hemphill can get the mistakes under control they’ll be fine. It’s a young tough little team that’s only going to get better over the next several years.

Pewitt capitalized off a bunch of turn overs in the first round are they would have been sent packing. Newton is going to beat the decals off their helmets next week. There’s only 4 teams in the region that can challenge Newton and 2 of those will be gone next week ( EF Hooks Waskom Daingerfield) thé battle for Newton’s state championship run starts in the 3rd round.
