Aguirre punches it in from a yard out again. 2 point conversion stopped. Bobcats - 14 Pirates - 14 7:30 in 2nd. No Broussard for HD since unsportsmanlike call. Not sure if he was ejected or coaches decision. -

Not getting any better. Unsportsmanlike foul on Broussard for ātossingā the ball back to the ref too hard (after a no fumble call that HD recovered). Tack on another on for good measure. 30 yards pirates. Here ya go. HD fans are getting seriously unruly -

HD vs DV and the refs so far. Hope these calls even out soon because right now itās one sided. And Iām not one to whine about officiating. -

Deweyvillle returns the favor and grinds down for an opening drive score. Converts with a 4 yard gain on 4th and 3. 2 point try is good. Bobcats - 8 Pirates - 8 2:50 in 1st on a side note the lighting is horrible and hard to even see. 9 portable light plants setup on the track and the one on the 50 on HDās side is completely out. Been that way since kickoff and no one is coming to work on it. -

To answer your first question, a bunch more if Iām a betting on it. And Bunaās coach wonāt out coach Barrier. Not to say heās not a really good coach, but thatās just my opinion. Theyāre not evenly matched athletically in my opinion, so Buna should win. I dont donāt have a dog in this fight, just calling it like i see it. To be honest, HD has a much more athletic team than Hardin but Hardin was able to beat them. HD is young and lost their starting QB at the half leading the Hornets 8-6 which contributed, but HD was out couched 100% in the second half. Adjustments were made and Hardin outscored HD 19-0 in the second half. The problem is when a 2a-II team right down the road with 40% of your enrollment has more athletes on the team. And weāre talking about Hull-Daisetta, not Mart or some crazy athletic outlier. Same with Hardinās game against Hearne thatās a 2a-I team. At some point itās not about Xās and Oās, itās about Jimmyās and Joeās. And Hardin doesnāt have many of them from what Iāve seen. Iām not trying to be overly critical of those kids by any means but Iām sure they know theyāll be outgunned every game. And as far as Hardin losing for the past 80 years, sometimes a program forgets or has never learned to win. They donāt expect to win. A coach that can instill that doesnāt last long enough to impact the younger generation. And in a small community genes and lineage have a huge part in teamās success. Hardin wasnāt athletic 25 years ago and as a tight knit community with below average turnover and move-ins, it makes sense theyāre not a super athletic team now. Several of the best athletes from Hardin in years past have moved away, some just for the very reason of giving their children a chance to compete and win at a more successful program. Iām older than dirt but Buna was always on another level than Hardin from a talent standpoint and that hasnāt changed. If Buna loses, it will be because they are out coached and the Hardin kids played harder.

I think Buna wins but donāt think itāll be a blowout. After watching Hardin play twice this year two things are evident. 1.) They will have less athletic kids than everyone they play. 2.) Theyāll probably be coached as well or better than every team they play. After seeing Hardin play Anahuac last week thereās no way the Hornets should have played within 10 points of the panthers. Of the 10 best athletes on the field, Anahuac had probably 8 of the top 10 if not 9. Same thing when they played Hearne to a 14-13 game. Ned Barrier is a difference maker over there in Hardin. Iām not sure if theyāll ever truly compete in this district for a top spot but heās getting the best out of what he has without a doubt. My prediction: Buna - 28 Hardin - 12

Hull-Daisetta vs Deweyville
Corona_with_Lime replied to H-D BOBCAT 55's topic in High School Football
Bobcats win this game handily if they donāt get dominated in the trenches. DV is bigger, stronger and more experienced across both OL/DL. If HD can hold their own and get their playmakers some space, itāll be a track meet that DV canāt compete in. If the Pirates do control the line of scrimmage and the time of possession and turn it into a slugfest, they will come out on top. Really depends on which team is able to impose their will (and style of play) upon the other. My Prediction: Hull-Daisetta - 38 Deweyville - 18 -
Anahuac with a 27 yard FG. Hornets - 6 Panthers - 10 8:09 2nd qtr You beating me to the punch AP lol. Iāll let you handle the updates

Panthers strike right back on long halfback pass. Hornets - 6 Panthers - 7 3:46 1st

Makes sense šš¼ and yes we will.

Didn't Deweyville beat Colmesneil by 40+ a couple weeks ago? Figured the Pirates might be ahead of the Bulldogs. And HD will be up there soon ;)
