Tyler Chapel Hill vs. Vidor (Bi-District)
piratevillain replied to piratevillain's topic in High School Football
Y'all will definitely be able to move the ball and stretch Lindale and their defense out. Defensive wise, their QB can sling it and has the ball out of his hands quick so it's hard to get pressure on him. Lumberton's D just has to keep the ball in front of them and try not to give up the big play. -

The Pirates will be well prepared and I know they're watching extra film this week. I know we will be able to move the ball, we've been able to all year. The secondary seems to be suspect every few weeks so I have no clue what's popping out of that toaster Friday! 😂 All I know is that vanilla coverage with a single high safety ain't gonna work, and we gotta dial up a blitz ever so often just to keep their offensive line guessing cause they're gonna double #99 no matter what. -
Vidor should be fine til the next realignment but I know the 7th grade class is HUGE, so I'm pretty sure we will be back in 5A when that class hits high school.

Tyler Chapel Hill 7-3 (3-3) will face off against the Vidor Pirates 8-1 (4-1) in Humble at Turner Stadium on Friday, November 12th at 7 PM. The one common opponent they have is Livingston which CH defeated in week two by a score of 35-15 and which Vidor also defeated a few weeks ago 40-7. One thing that comes off interesting to me, is that all three of the Bulldogs losses were to the other 9-4A-I playoff teams. All of them were pretty much blowouts besides the Palestine game. What are your thoughts, predictions, or what do you expect come Friday night?
-
It seems like that has become a new norm with these high powered offenses. Good defensive play is an afterthought it seems like. Im glad Vidor prides itself on fundamentals on tackling.
-
Yeah, I didn't understand it at all. Like they would have a clear shot at wrapping them up, but then they would just do a full dive at them.😂
-
I'm curious, does these new coaches at Lumberton teach them to wrap up making an open field tackle? Cause more times than not they were all diving at Vidor's legs and our backs we're getting alot extra yards in the second half when they realized they don't wrap up.

I hardly got any sleep last night cause I still couldn't believe we pulled out that win last night. Just another testament that this team will not lay over for anyone. I honestly thought the game was to big for them during the first half, and that Pirate team with the moxie that we all know showed up in the second half.

They definitely had to make some adjustments, especially on defense cause im surprised they held HH to 19 points. -
I'm actually surprised it's not. my bad, I misread the comment, I thought you were talking about the playoff game.
-
I didn't think about that til this morning, probably a good reason why.

Yup, probably two more years and we'll be back to 5A.
-
That's what me and @RaiderGirl2010were just talking about this morning. Lumberton plain and simple abandoned the running game and they had no faith in it which is why they couldn't milk the clock like probably would've wanted to. They learned early in the first half that their running game was gonna get shut down.

PNG and Ned definitely bring the fans and the intensity and some time the hatred of being of long time foes. Hopefully we can schedule one of them for pre-district next season - but i doubt it, honestly.

I knew HH would win, but I definitely wasn't expecting this low but close score. -

I was sitting across the row by the reserved section on the scoreboard side. Man, I was yelling at them to blitz ALL GAME. Maybe they heard my annoying a**, but it worked out when they finally dialed it up.🤷🏻♂️
-
Yup, got down by 20 early in the third quarter.
-
Right when they missed that PAT, i told everyone around me that it was gonna haunt them later in the game, and it did. Those XP's matter more than you think.
-
I honestly was surprised there wasn't more fans on Vidor's side, but those true fans showed up we stayed loud all game. You're yelling at them to throw the deep ball, and im yelling at them to blitz... team work makes the dream work from the bleacher creatures.😂
-
train horn any day, no matter what PNG is gonna play it a million times regardless.😂
-
this didn't age well.
-
man, they blew the hell out of that thing in the first half, ill never understand how that is enjoyable to hear every game.
