  1. If the Pirates can play a clean ballgame last week, with minimal penalties, zero turnovers, and go thru the air often and early WITH success. I think Vidor can leave Livingston with the W. Our secondary is what scares me with the screen passes and the athletes that the Lions have... we don't contain and play disciplined assignment football it could be long night. But the same goes with Livingston's defense with the Shot/Slot-T. Anyone has any season stats on Livingston from this season?
  2. I'm curious how they planning on stopping it as well. The Pirates started getting a handle on in the 2nd half and forced them to throw down field. But with Livingston, it's gonna get alot more complicated cause they have the athletes to burn us with them. Like you said, Hag... I'm glad I'm not the DC that has scheme and come up with assignments to stop it.😅
  3. I said Livingston was better than advertised but them winning by 2TDs is blasphemy.
  4. Yeah, I wouldn't put money on this game either, better yet I'm not making a prediction on this game, just hope Vidor can keep the momentum going into this game. Livingston has proven themselves overthe past few weeks that they compete and can't be overlooked as an easy win. But Vidor has shown that they're vulnerable but can make necessary adjustments and bounce back with a convincing win after two tough losses with injuries.
  5. Livingston Lions 5-2 (2-0) Vidor Pirates 3-2 (1-1) Livingston has district wins over Splendora and Lumberton. Meanwhile, the Pirates have a district loss to Splendora with a win over LC-M. thoughts?
  6. I was thinking that last night about them. LC-M's offense has too much potential to just call screen passes and QB reads all night, it seemed like that's all they ran except for maybe a 5 yard zip on a hitch route or a simple go route towards the end when the game was basically over. I think if they ran a multiple set offense, similar to what Nederland runs and it would suit those kids better and give them a better shot at winning ball games. But what do I know, I'm just a fan of the game and being a armchair coach this morning.🥴
  7. Held LCM to just 11 yards rushing and 163 total yards. Pirates didn't turn the ball over and had 65 yards of penalties and I think 5 of those yards were on a hold in the second half on a 2pt conversion. Vidor finally played a complete game in my eyes. Still gotta clean up the kicking game though! lol
  8. definitely can't win ball games when you turn it over that much.
  9. game article from the Orange Leader. [Hidden Content]
  10. Gonna see if I can find some stats on this game and I'll try and post them when I find them either tonight or in the morning.
  11. We really were, and that's what my bro in law was telling me last week with #23 being out. He looked great tonight also and little small #7 got some great yardage too.
  12. I predicted 42-13... I was pretty close. I had a feeling it was gonna be HH by 20+
  13. he laid the boom on that kid, he had the whole crowd hyped after that hit.
  14. That long TD pass was a thing of beauty, especially throwing it across his body. I was being greedy and wanting more all game after I seen that first one! lol
  15. Great win tonight, offense looked great and was balanced all night feeding it to all the backs and didn't have a single turnover all game. All LCM had tonight was the screens to the flats or run sweeps to the edge. Pirates looked good in every phase of the game tonight. #55 is a junior but I haven't heard of any offers yet but Kilgore College has shown interest in him.
  16. I have a feeling the Pirates will be fired up to play tonight. Homecoming night and great football weather against a cross county rival underneath the lights, it's a beautiful mixture. Go Pirates!
  17. every prediction I've seen today has HH by 20+
  18. I'll be in attendance for this one. Surprisingly there were tickets still available (earlier) today considering it's homecoming.
  19. have your team prove me wrong. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  20. idk why, this is the image that popped up in my head reading your comment. 😂
  21. I'm curious to see how this team responds to this adversity as well and there's only two ways it can go and Friday will tell alot about them.
  22. I think so too. Kids know this system very well, it's all gonna come down to kids who wanna step up and fill their roles.
  23. Im still optimistic, hopefully we can shake these injury bugs out early and can finish district out strong. Vidor is still heavily in the mix of things.
