I would agree there. And I think they got a good blueprint going forward! Run that guy! And if he stays healthy and out there that QB should only get better. Definitely potential there!

I saw them, they’re impressive against 4A squads. It’s different when those d-linemen have to chase a QB that can embarrass them and those DBs have to check some of the fastest 5A players in the state. Not overly concerned about what you bring back and if the linebacker you’re talking about is Kip Lewis he’s not even close to a 5 star. Crosby dropped 62 on Texas High who had two 4 star line backers, one of which was actually almost a 5 star. Clayton Smith finished #38 overall and three spots out of 5 star designation, Lewis is #259 overall and 228 spots out of 5 star designation. Dissing on Kip Lewis, I'm not sure how, but he's certainly good enough for Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma. He will be enrolling early there in January. It's not like OU is a good program or ever had any good LBs....

I was glad to see both cleaned that up, it made for a much better game! Hard to get excited about watching snaps flying over the heads of QBs and snaps getting dropped before the play has hardly begun.

So long as Crosby stays healthy and improves, are they favored to win or compete for their district? I can't pretend I know as much about yalls district and opponents. I just knew Crosby had a lot to replace from last years great run to the championship game.

Basically what Cougtalk said. It was a competition all offseason and they both split time during 7 on 7 and both played well. #3 that started the game is a senior and played well in mop up duty last year when the games were out of reach. I think #10 just showed he handled the pressure of the pass rush better and made better decisions. #3 is a great player and athlete still, I hope he will get a chance to help by carrying or catching the ball and maybe on defense.

I hear you. I knew this was going to be a hell of game long before the season arrived. I would not have been surprised if Carthage had lost the game. It was baptism by fire for both teams with new starters at key positions, what a heck of a way to get both teams new starters ready for the season going forward. Great experience!

Again, I'm not taking anything from Crosby. To do so, really downplays the significance of Carthage beating them. Like I said I think it was a huge accomplishment and something to be excited about.

And being that Larry talks to Surratt every week and interviews him pregame, his info is straight from the coach. But nah, someone from Bellville probably knows better.

I just got here and am only sharing facts about what was missing. I'm impressed as hell to beat a team and school with literally 1,000 kids bigger enrollment and a program that played for the state title 2 classifications above us last year. Missing nearly an entire starting unit while also replacing such an integral position as QB. The QB most definitely earned the job going forward. I doubt the O-line did outside of one or two of them, being that Carthage had negative yards rushing and that NEVER happens.

If you are talking about the fella from Bellville, i'll let you decide who likely has better inside info on Carthage football and operations between a person from Bellville and me, Hike Moncho, from Carthage.

3 starters were missing from what was the planned starting unit on the O-line. That's not excuse, just facts. That coupled with #40 is a BEAST and for all I know Crosby might have the best D-line Carthage plays this year. There is any number of reasons for the Carthage QBs being under fire all night, some attributed to Crosby just being really good and some attributed to Carthage being stricken with the Covid.

That was the starting O-line for Last night and hopefully last night only (don't know how long they will have to sit out). 3 starters on o-line out because of Covid. 3rd string and JV kids getting carries at RB.
