I don't have a 4A dog in this hunt, but I do not support banning opt ups at all. Think statewide, what if El Paso had five 6A teams, and one more 5A team. It would make a ton of common sense to opt up that one 5A to fill out their district. There could be / would be collateral damage with a statewide opt up ban. Maybe Stepp just posted that to start up talk and get clicks. I dunno.

Nah, BH beats them in everything, except maybe soccer or something. BH doesn't really notice them. -
Port arthur memorial vs Forney

Maybe, but I heard a lot of the exact same last year. BH was shutting out Forney 21-0 until they scored on the last play of the game. -

BH has never been totally healthy this year, at all. -

Accuweather.com has the Friday evening forecast as "Periods of rain, 0.50" total for the evening". If its a half inch with breaks in it, not so bad IMO. Of course the timing and forecast will be more refined in the next 24-48 hrs. I am more concerned about how we play, than the weather. -

You are right. I understood you, my comments were for the general readership to digest. I was not challenging you. All good! -

BH payed terrible in a monsoon rain vs. PAM last year. Then, BH played great against Forney in the first round in a cold rain a few weeks later. The weather is not an excuse. BH has to deal with the weather, whatever it is. In any case, it seems the Friday forcast is for rain AM, then clearing up through the day. -
Port arthur memorial vs Forney

Does Forney have their own personal refs? I thought neautral refs from another area were assigned to playoff games after both team mutually agree on them. -

BH fans certainly did just that. Its was a fun night. BH won pretty easily in game one, then FW dug in and played very hard, pushing game 2 to extra points before BH closed it out. In game 3 FW led mid game but BH rallied and pulled away at the end. Great fan support for BH. Great effort by both teams. FW repped themselves very well. -

BH did not and has not whined about the refs. Or homecomings. Or “last second TD’s”. We leave the cloak of eternal victimhood for others who want to wear it. Enjoy. -

Zero evidence of officials manipulating BH games. Zero I don’t care what you are saying but there is no home officials for BH. It’s just in your head, but whatever. -

Separation Scientist replied to BHFAN's topic in High School Football
Zero evidence of that. BH earned the right to play at home but the refs will come from elsewhere. Even if the refs were from SETX, there is still zero evidence. Zero. One of the worst calls ever made against BH came in our own stadium. -

Barbers Hill (21) @ New Caney Porter (27) - FINAL
Separation Scientist replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Some say the 2nd seed is a better place to be than the 1st seed. I hope they are right. In a weird way, a pissed off BH team entering the playoffs with a bloody nose could work out well. Lastly, BH sure hopes for more ahead, but an 8-2 regular season is pretty good considering all the injuries the team had to work through. It could have been a total disaster, had BH gone 2-8 instead or something like that. -

I hope you are right. It seems BH lucked into #2 somehow. Maybe its best for us that LP won the #1 seed afterall. -

They were saying the reverse, that the system cheated them, but I don't know what he means with that either. -

I would think it reverts back to points, regardless what seeding its determining. -
Barbers Hill (21) @ New Caney Porter (27) - FINAL
Separation Scientist replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
As far as this game goes, BH lost it more that Porter won it. BH up 21-0 in the 3rd and can't seal the deal? Thats on them! Not the refs, the weather, clerical errors or any such thing. BH is soley responsible for their 2nd half implosion. Our short swing passes were working great but we could not connect on a long pass to save our lives. Every single one of them were overthrown. All...night...long. Why keep forcing that when you need 3-4 yards? That, and the tackling was terrible. -

Don't give up on anyone. If anything has been proven tonight it that upsets can and will happen. Still more football to be played. -
