Royal has picked up some Katy kids. I don't know the number or how good they are, but they have picked some up. Royal was 0-5, 1-4, 1-4 in their district the past three years, but 5-1 this year. It appears they made a difference. I think HF played much better opponents in WOS, Jasper, Silsbee. If HF takes it to them HF should win.

Few predicted BH to claim the #2 seed this year. Some predicted a 4th seed, or even had BH missing out. The team had a few ups and downs, but at the end you are what your record says you are, at least as far as your district is concerned. BH earned it. Now, the district is done and playoffs are a different animal. The Eagles must elevate their game even more because playoff opponents are going to be sucessivly tougher. By that I mean more efficiency across the board. Less penalties, less turnovers, fewer missed tackles, more consistant execution. In the playoffs "Be good or be gone" is theme. Good info about Forney has been shared by the Longview posters. As I look through their schedule they pretty much beat who they should, and lost to their top 2 district seeds. No real upsets happened either way. That tells me Forney is pretty predictable performance wise. BH has a bit more unpredictability, beating favored Crosby and KP but losing to LP. The game is at home for BH, and weather should be good. I do not see a significant advantage for either team. I think it comes down to execution and turnovers. On the surface this looks like a great matchup of 2-3 seeds that could go either way. I'll take our BH Eagles to win in a close game at home.

Does anybody see a four beating a one anywhere?

It always happens. Some districts are weak and quickly get exposed. Then there are a few upsets. I dont know the percent and it varies each year but typically 4's go away pretty quick. -

Having encountered FW on many occasions via baseball, softball, VB etc, they are an easy school to support. They have some of the nicest, classiest fans I have ever encountered. They do things right. I hope they find an outstanding coach to fill the shoes. FW always played football with great preparation and effort, and I am sure the right guy will be found to continue it. -

Weather was a non-isue. We had a few very brief minutes of rain but it did not affect the game. -

When realignment took place, the eyes of the whole state immeadiatly fell on the Crosby - Longview matchup of elites that would inevitalbly happen, with the winner on track to celebrate at AT&T in late December. The whole State is now holding its collective breath, and will be watching this premier game with great interest. What happens when an unstoppable force from the south meets an immovable object from the north? The whole HS football world awaits! -
Thanks kingwolf1. That was a good overview on Forney. I know their name well but thats about the extent of it. Looking forward to a great game. The weather looks to be stellar next weekend. Safe travels to all.

Great info Thanks! -
Forecast says the rains are in the College Station area at 9pm and the western half of Harris Co. at 11PM. Looks like they might get to Mont Belvieu by 11:30pm-12:00am. Of course that's just a forecast, but what I am seeing is that weather should be a non issue from 7pm-10pm. [Hidden Content] The Eagles just need to get it done regardless of what comes.

Yes they are. They gave Champ Shiner fits in the Semis last year, and like you said they have a lot coming back.

This thing stinks more every day. Something is rotten here.

I agree with all you said except that. Don't misinterpret some over-the-top vocalizations from a few posters here on this forum as a proxy for the whole Crosby fanbase. When things went south for them this year their fans to some degree abandoned them. I saw that when I watched some district games online. After they lost to BH and KW back to back a lot of their fans didn't show up in Port Arthur, for example. Also last year after they lost in playoffs to Liberty Hill a few of their fans had a melt down in the parking lot and loudly said some horrible things about their own team. It was not nice. -

Yes. BH would be 6-2 and in for sure with a win. -
RE the rain, its part of football, and has been for oh, I dunno, just the last 100 years or so. I will never blame weather conditions for a loss. Its incumbent on the staff and team to be ready to play and play efficiently on Friday night regardless of the weather. Prepare for it. I clearly understand weather affects styles of play differently, but its just not an excuse. Teams should not be totally one dimensional since rain at times will be encountered. I don't think BH is. We can run the ball too. Porter is a real good team but they are not unbeatable. Its time to get it done.

I honestly don't care about the game. In fact if you look back I said a BH loss (pre-playoffs) is probably good. Have you noticed exactly who you quoted and challenged? BH posters like Powers, Avery and me. See? Why not check out DogPride and 77's posts too. You never said a word about them, did you? Geeze.

DCTF Week 11 State Rankings

I didn't mean for you to take it wrong. I didn't mean to "disagree" with you, I am just discussing the topic that's all. Even if SV has some returners some of their top producers did graduate. For example their all-everything Coy Eakin, offensive MVP, is now at Texas Tech. The guy was almost a one man show. [Hidden Content] -
First, I didn't say they were. Several here perceived Avery as trying to discredit Ned's win. He simply did not. He just added pertinent information, and the worst was assumed. No benefit of the doubt. As staff, I don't know how on earth you don't think people take shots at BH and BH posters. Just read the football forum the last few years. We are used to it.

Its OK, there is nothing wrong with you being from southwest Bridge City, 85. No need to be so sensitive. -
