East Chambers Buccaneers 2022 Preview
Separation Scientist replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Maybe I spoke out of error earlier, and I do apologize if I did. So maybe you can set me straight. Just curious, who were the leader(s) of that team? And where was he from? Home grown Winnie boy, correct? Thanks. -

Yes, some dude went off on stupid memes recently pumping an overhyped school. That, and the "Toby" and "7 years" stuff. Best thing to do is just ignore all the stupidity like that. I too appreciate all the efforts to keep this site alive and well. Once the season actually starts up it will get rolling good again. -

I don't think Crosby's "chances" for winning the district was ever in question from anyone or any source. Pretty much a lock. -

1) That's exactly why I count playoff wins. Even if you sweep this district it does not mean anything. Somebody has to win. Heck even valley teams sweep their district to sometimes, but its meaningless. You could be 10-0, ranked top 10 and then lose to a 3rd place Yoakum team in 2nd round. You were exposed. 2) I see one, where they won one single 3rd round game. With Beaumont skill kids. Once. In how many years? Or ever? Sorry didn't mean to hurt your feelings but this whole district is one of the weakest in the state. District wins don't mean anything. My friend from Tark readily admits it, It just needs to improve. Maybe in time it will. Maybe adding Orange field will help. Meanwhile go back to the original post and look at the current 3A-1 Top 10 and Top 25. Bye. -

Every last one of them are blue Dims. Every one.

9-4A D2 is a really, really good district. 21-6A is awesomely good, maybe the best in the state 8-5A DI is average, top heavy and bottom weak. Crosby will go FAR (PAM needs to live up to potential) 9-5A DII is a bit above average 9-3A DI is good 10-4A DI is growing 12-3A DII Newton is the lone power, very well could win State. 10-3A DI is trash. One of the weakest in the state (its the midget district)

Thats right. No chance at all it goes back to anything but 4 teams per district. All coaches with average to slightly above average teams want to boast "Hey we made the playoffs xx times in a row!" That's exactly why an average of playoff WINS (not just appearances) per year is the best metric. Weak teams who lose in the 1st round are rightfully discounted. Only the number of playoff WINS count. I calculated 0.83 playoff wins per year for some random nameless team (I don't want to hurt sensitive feelings) in the other thread, for example.

I agree, four should not go out of a four team district. They could make it proportional. 2 could go out of a 4 or 5 team district, 3 go out of a 6-7 team district, and 4 go out of a 8-9 team district. In other words, 50% goes and 50% stays home. If you are not in the top half of your district you do not belong in the playoffs.

I doubt I will ever watch a hype video in my life. I have zero interst in anythng labled "hype". Zero. Its way too juvenile for me. (Not criticizing those who do though) -

NO. I really don't care either way. What I am doing is responding to the chest thumpers who want to hype (for reasons beyone me) ANY team from that weak district who thinks they are some kind of powerhouse. Its just laugable. In that district they all melt in the playoffs, even the 10-0 tallest midget in the room. I would say the exact same thing about Anahuac or whoever else in that district. I also just said the exact same thing about 5A Port Arthur who has gone 0-4 the past 4 seasons. NO I don't hate Port Arthur. I really don't care. -

The vast majority of what you posted is district wins for EC. Let me repeat that, DISTRICT WINS. Beating up on one of the weakest districts in the whole state is meaningless. What does count is playoff wins. Lets take a look: 2021, beat 4th place 4-7, Huntington, lost out after 1st round 2020 beat 4th place 5-6 Trinity, lost out after 1st round 2019 beat 5-5 4th place Coldspring, lost out after 1st round 2018 beat 8-4 West, 11-2 Yoe, went out after 2nd round 2017, 7-4, lost in first round to Teague. No playoff wins 2016, 4-6, finished 5th place, missed playoffs entirely. No playoff wins. The last three years all they have to show is three wins against 4th place teams. They meet a better opponent in 2nd round and they are gone. 2018 was their best year. Won a whopping two games, then gone. 2017 no playoff wins, lost to a 7-4 Teague. 2016 they were 5th place completely missing the playoffs. Totaled up thats 5 wins in the last 6 years. Thats a whopping 0.83 playoff wins per year. EC does not even average ONE playoff win per year, and 3 of the 5 came against pathetic 4th place teams with losing records. Tallest midget in the room. -

You did that same type "math" before with TW. Now do you it for BH future seasons presuming BH loses out in the first round 2X? BTW do you know for sure who we will play in 1st round in 23 and 24? Ask FBM if Absek and BH can't beat a higher seeded team. How many other teams have you done the math on? Instead of obsessing about BH, you ought to be worried about losing your recruiter / coach pretty soon. -

Why are you worried about a BH video? I am an avid HS FB fan and I have never watched a single hype video from anyone, ever. The fact its called "hype" steers me away. But you took it serious? OMG people obsess about BH in every single way. 24/7. -

Yep, making the playoffs are usually not a problem for them. Super easy to do in one of the weakest 3A-D1 districts in the whole state. Of course they have occasionally missed out on that too. Subtract the Beaumont skill boys they brought in and EC is nothing. All I am saying is that for the all the EC hype they rarely go past 2nd round. If you want to compare look at 3A-D2 Newton. They are a real threat to win State each and every year. EC is not even close to being in that conversation. But whatever, hype 'em on. -
Yes I knew lacing was a thing forever. You confirmed what I thought. I doubted people were actually ingesting it straight, but nothing would surprise me anymore. I saw the billboard thats out there showing a fatal quantity of it juxtaposed with a penny. Literally a spec is enough to kill. More imported death crossing our non existent southern border.

This might seem like a unusual question, but can you tell me in general terms how all these fentanyl overdoses are happening? Are the drug heads actually buying the stuff and ingesting it? Or is it other drugs they are taking that is laced with it for an added kick? Or is it passed off as something else and the person taking it is not aware what it really is, thinking its something else? I am as far away from the drug culture as a person can be but I want to know what is happening in general terms so I can be aware and steer the kids at Church away from this epidemic of OD's that fentanyl is causing. I do know its highly concentrated where only a speck of it can kill and the vast majority comes to the USA though Mexico from China. (BTW Thanks Biden for leaving the border open to all kinds of EVIL.)
