For those unaware, there was a great series this weekend at GCM with defending champ Liberty meeting up with Bridge City. BC took game 1, then Liberty took game 2. In the 3rd game BC led the whole way up until the very last out as Liberty survived. I have a ton of respect for BC. They gave powerhouse Liberty all they wanted, and except for an error in the 7th BC would have won. Congrats to both!

5AD1 District 8 and Region 2 discussion.
Separation Scientist replied to Cougtalk's topic in High School Football
BH has some holes to fill. I am not saying it can't be done, but its going to be a process. I believe we will be better at the end of the season than the beginning. We have two good pre-district games to help us grow some. -
Year in and year out the competition this district faces is not as strong as Lorena and Franklin is now. If anything the gap is widening. I think the almighty EC was undefeated and top ten or something like that a few years ago and lost to an unknown 3rd place Yoakum team in the 2nd round. The tallest midget in the room melted like a sno-cone.
-
We are actually in agreement. Thats what I have been saying. A team from this distrct can go a chest thumpin' 9-1 or even 10-0, and "look" strong on paper, but its totally false. They melt like a sno-cone in the August heat when they hit the 2nd round. I hope Anahuac grows, Orangefield comes in strong, and Tark can at least develop a pulse. Maybe better days are ahead. Thats all for me here, all good.

Liberty was up on Bridge City 4-0 in the 4th inning of game 2.

To be fair I did not say this 3A is THE absolute "worst" in the whole state, but they are arguably the 2nd or 3rd worst. For sure they are in the bottom quartile. The valley district 16 is the only one I know for fact that really is worse. Orangefield is coming in new, so that can change.
-
I don't know much of anything about Hardin, or who that kid is. Only reason I somewhat follow this 3A is beacuse I have a freind with a son that goes to Tarkington, who is trying to motivate his son to play. I want to see Tarkington develope a pulse. I really focus on 5A-DI.

I don't think most approve. I think the Dims will get slaughtered in the mid terms. "Lord deliver us from this EVIL" is my prayer.
-
I saw that. PALLETS shipped to illegals while American babies go without. BIDEN = PURE EVIL.
-
How many of these had a deep run last year? Who out of those three is going deep this year? See? Nobody outside this district is even remotely concerned about it. Zero fear of this district. Beating Hardin by 50 or Tark by 60 does not mean you are a strong team once the playoffs start and you play real competition. I do agree though if Tark goes 2-8 next year (Hardin and Evadale) it would be a start. Then build from there.

HJ Hires Zach Bass as new AD/HC

Mont Belvieu has gone completely nuts. You can still find a few $300K+ homes, but most are now $400K+ and up. -
Teams rarely go from 0-fer to .500 in the next year. Not impossible, but not typical. Give the new guy at least two years to show some real improvement. The fortunate thing for him and Tark is that they play in one of the weakest 3A districts in the state, so the bar is low to step over. I do know endless snark on a sports board does not accomplish anything for anybody, any coach, player, or fan.

Updates please? -
Correct. For those unaware, BH, coming off a State Championship, had a massive reloading task this year. Good thing is BH will be very strong the next two to three years. The presumptive ace will be a Soph next year, and six starters return. The team will need to rediscover their bats, but I am confindent really good seasons are ahead. To the few departing Seniors, THANKS for a wonderful career, State Champs 2021!

The media and feminist groups have effectively brainwashed a significant part of America to believe a lie. -
Roe versus Wade draft seems to overturn

Uh, yeah. I don't think its my responsibility to pay for someone else's children. I take care of my own. If people reproduce children, they should support them, and not be deadbeat parents depending on others to pay for everything. This has nothing to do with stopping a beating heart in the womb though. These are two totally different issues that the pro abortion people desperately try to link together. -
Now starting at 8 pm due to lightening and rain in Pearland.

One thing I have always wondered about, the Hollywood elites who are the most obnoxious, loud mouthed pro abortion people on the planet, INSIST on gushing over whatever celebrity happens to have a "baby bump" on the red carpet. What? a BABY bump? How can that be? Blazin' hypocrites. -
I thought I made it clear, I was never referring to an individual (or school). See above. When someone says "its rampant, they all cheat", the context is clearly "in general". I still disagree with that contention. Sure there are some shady ones around, but I still believe there are honest men of integrity in the profession. I hope I am not wrong. Over & out.

HaHa, EC is MILES from even being mentioned in the same breath as Brock, Aledo, Carthage, Celina, LOL that's absolutely hysterical, LOL. And OK with Saban and colleges? What are you talking about? Why are you laser focusing on transfers? I never made the comment "they all cheat" but even if I had, there are tons of ways to cheat outside of just actively collecting transfers. Fixing grades, whitewashing disciplinary issues, etc. quickly come to mind. If you look back, I am saying they DON'T all cheat. I think there are still some good men out there. You misunderstood. Please re-read. Thanks.
